I like how it feels like a seahorse town simulator :D chill vibes. Couldn't place any more floors/houses after my first couple for some reason though - not sure if its bugged or I'm missing some of the mechanics :(
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD57 → Loon lagoon

Hm, I didn't really know what to do, can you maybe add a tutorial? I liked the graphic :)
Add a tutorial, the game works strange after adding few houses.
I moved the house around, clicked on some sea creatures, but I didn't figure how to get resources to build stuff. Other than that the game looks good and wave ambient is fitting.
Well done!
love the slower pace and idea of just a building game.
Snail ranch update! - Now you can place a snail ranch to produce more snails, but it's expensive! - Fixed some bugs & some sorting issues. - Added a tooltip. - Fixed a potential crash related to save files
Roadmap: - Sharks & fish! - Better snail AI - More cosmetic & special objects - Unique seahorses - Sea stars
Thank you to everyone who's tested the game so far we really appreciate it ^_^
Heads up, try to play on the webpage and this pops up: firefox_gg9GAABGdC.png Maybe try reuploading?
Thanks @static-leap-studios, I'll try to get it working or at least try to get Linux builds working & *maybe* Android but we'll see b/c that requires extra texting
Sorry, I couldn't play your game: Screenshot 2025-04-23 000358.png
Download link fixed, I think. Also added Linux and a tutorial, fixed several bugs.
Cool idea, good start, keep it up.
The differently coloured corals were a nice touch! Also, this is the only game I've played that has an automatic save - nice! :D Though it also worked against me because I feel like I messed up the start and wanted to restart 😆
Thanks for the feedback about that, @shasaur, I'll try to make the option to reset your game more obvious
It is an addicting and soothing game, love the sound and music you chose! It was a bit slower paced than I expected in the early game. Getting 30 shells for a house takes a while. Charming art, cute aesthetic, great mood! Love that the snails collect their own shells after a while so you can relax without clicking like crazy, and the UI design fits the theme really well.
I can't figure out how to build. I drag the items onto the map, but they don't stay -- even the plant that only costs 3 shells, so I definitely should be able to afford it.
@kobato-games thanks for explaining your frustration so clearly. The objects that you can build have placement restrictions & when you drag an object from the tray, it will light up when you can place it.
I was wondering why some people seemed confused but your feedback brought some insight - so I'll need to implement an animation of some kind to show building in action, I suppose, and maybe a guided introduction.
Thank you!
@geometer Glad I could help. I never saw the item light up, but I also did not know to be looking for it. I'll give the game another try.
Can you add some instructions on how to play in the game description?
It took some trial and error, but I figured out that I have to click the build button to build, and that the shell/seahorse numbers on the right are my resources, they are not buttons. I don't know what the different buildings do. I don't know what +plankton means. I found that coral fan has to be attached to a square. I can click on coral fan and it reacts but doesnt seem to do anything. I don't know how to deal with the spiky purples. I clicked on a snail once and got a shell, but now there are no more snails for a long time.
I liked that an AppImage was included. The ideas seems to be heading in the right place. I felt that the mechanics could be more fleshed out and easier to understand. There were few instance of Build objects sticking together. At one point if a ranch overlapped another one, it was impossible to separate them. Maybe this bug is a feature :) It could do a lot better by doing less. Keep it up team!
