The graphics are, of course, gorgeous! The music is so lovely too. I'll be honest, the moment with the lighthouse made me gasp as their worlds "connected" for me when I saw the light appear on "her" screen.

The mechanic is really cool and fun, I loved this way to control the characters, and you took the time to draw all the poses and animations...

The game may be short but it is absolutely gorgeous and I can see how much work was put into it to make it happen in one weekend!

I wonder how they exchanged objects while being in different places though? Through a portal?

I think it would be incredibly fun to play a full length game like this +_+

jpat 2026-04-20 13:50

This is a beautiful piece of art. I cannot believe you made this in 48 hours. Incredible work!

vidarn 2026-04-20 14:55

@kanity Thank you! I'm flattered by the kind words! It's nice to hear that the moment with the lighthouse was effective :)

It was fun to draw the poses and "animations" of the characters without having to make all the inbetween frames. It made it easier to manage getting everything done on time.

You're right about the exchanged objects not quite being logical. I don't have a good explanation other than I thought it would be cool

@jpat Thank you so much! It was really fun to make a game that was so art heavy. It meant spending a lot of time drawing but it's such a relaxing and immersive activity for me so I had a great weekend, sleep deprived as I might be now.

kanity 2026-04-20 14:58

@vidarn it is cool! I am just trying to find explanation xD What I think is they have a specific portal that is good only for non-alive objects (I would say it was too small for a human to fit into, but the ladder did fit) and they both have, say, a mirror - and through that mirror they exchange those objects ^^

vidarn 2026-04-20 15:15

@kanity Haha I see! I really like that explanation, and the idea of a mirror as a portal for transporting objects is very nice! :)

beareye 2026-04-20 17:23

I noticed your game cover among many others and loved its artstyle on first sight, so I saved it to play later, but then accidentally lost tab. I scrolled all over the jam games just to find it. I have never regreted it! This game is way more beautiful than I expected, but visuals is not everything about it. Finding items in two perspectives of two characters was incredibly interesting and I really-really want a full game like that! That artstyle, that gameplay, that game! All 5s absolutely deserved. Love your work!

yorsh 2026-04-20 22:22

Very beautiful! The story is really nice, ends feel great. Music is amazing too. It's short but it doesn't really need to be longer. Maybe some more sound effects, even if subtle, could work well with the great mood?

graebor 2026-04-21 02:33

WOW! This was so cool. Beautiful art and sound, the whole thing has such a great atmosphere, and so much emotion comes across with such simple interactions. The crossover between stories was so well done, this was an instant favourite - congrats on a fantastic result

euler-moises 2026-04-21 02:34

I loved it!

The art caught my attention from the very beginning of its development. The music is also very good to listen to. You can close your eyes and just feel the vibe.

The game is very good! Congratulations!

rinevard 2026-04-21 04:00

The best entry I've played in ld59 so far

kobato-games 2026-04-21 20:57

Beautiful game. Wish is was a little easier on my GPU, but I have that issue with a lot of games. Something about the style and dragging objects and characters to advance the story seemed familiar, so I checked your page and found I'd played one you'd made in the past about mice moving a very small seed. Glad to see you're making more in the same style :)

gamebuilder 2026-04-21 23:15

Good job. Music and images fit together well. The theme of reunion and love is inspiring, though it would have been good to see a traditional story—a man and woman, prince and princess, or similar. Call me old-fashioned. Still, there is an element of magic to this.

strega 2026-04-22 01:44

Love the clean graphics, the interaction mechanics, and how it previews the actions as you drag the characters/items around. The transitions were really nice and how you can do multiple things at once worked really well. The music and sounds were very fitting and there was a nice mood to the whole thing. Great job!

rubatotree 2026-04-22 14:30

Lovely art and lovely story!~

aune 2026-04-22 15:08

Another excellent experience! I really love the mood and the "shown, not explained" approach!

As for the paintings, it’s truly a masterclass in composition both for frames and color.

From a gameplay perspective, the idea of sending objects from one character to help the other creates an immediate connection with the couple. Just like them, we want them to reunite.

These ways of storytelling through interactions increase the engagement. Blurring the idea from being spectators or readers to interpreters. It’s truly inspiring.

Well done ^^

mahalis 2026-04-23 12:06

This is beautiful! Really terrific art—I loved the little transitional poses that you catch a glimpse of when you successfully figure out how to progress. I still have it open on my other screen as I’m writing this and I’m enjoying the soundtrack; usually the music in a jam game is “there” at best, but you made something that’s pleasant to to listen to in its own right. Very well done.

vidarn 2026-04-24 19:12

Thank you so much for the comments, and sorry I've been bad at replying. I really appreciate the feedback!

@beareye Haha, what a story :D Thank you for taking the time to find the game, and for the nice comment. I'm glad you liked it!

@kobato-games I'm sorry about the performance. It's good that you let me know, thanks! I will make sure to keep an eye on the graphics performance in the future, I want people to be able to play the games I make without issues.

@gamebuilder Thank you for the suggestions! The story in this game was quite improvised. I started by drawing the first screens and then went from there, letting the inspiration guide me. Had I planned it out beforehand I might have ended up with something more traditional.

@aune thank you! That's very kind, I'm flattered and happy that you like the game!

@mahalis Thank you! It makes me happy that you enjoyed the music. I picked up music making only a couple of years ago, so it's very encouraging to know that it landed well.

abiral 2026-04-25 08:47

I loved the art, and the way each frame updates with custom art after dragging an item really shows the work you put in. The mechanics are unique and engaging, overall, it’s a very well-polished game, enjoyed it.

vidarn 2026-04-25 10:06

@abiral Thank you so much!

daniel 2026-04-26 00:31

Lovely stuff, great short story for a compo game. A bit of pixel hunting at first to learn the rules and mechanics, but came together nicely by the end. Too bad it wasn't longer with a few complicated puzzles, but great for 48 hours!

100th-coin 2026-04-26 17:45

This was delightful! The ways the scenes interact was really creative. I love how the two characters are able to benefit each other despite being far away. There's some really good metaphorical meaning that can be derived from that, about how positively relationships can affect people even when they are apart.

Honestly, such great story telling, and in such a unique presentation. I'm giving this game the **Coolest Love Story of LD59** award.

I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. Cheers!

bobap 2026-04-26 21:54

Absolute gem. Short and sweet. Love the panel-style storytelling. The scenes were well constructed and the puzzles easy to understand. I very nearly went with a lighthouse game for the theme myself, I just love the vibe. Excellent work.

vidarn 2026-04-28 06:30

@100th-coin Thank you! I really appreciate the recording, it was great to see you play the game. Very helpful to get an impression of how it plays. Thank you for the comments and feedback in the video as well.

@bobap Thank you! Yeah there's something special about lighthouses :D But I remember checking the ld page just after drawing it and seeing three different posts of lighthouse-themed games, haha. So it's good you went in a different direction I guess.

gideongriebenow 2026-04-28 07:24

What a lovely entry. Well done, it was a pleasure to play. Nice split on the start screen. Good luck getting the last required rating!

ben-morledge-hampton 2026-04-28 16:30

Wow! What an amazing entry! The visuals, music, story, and gameplay are all very impressive, especially for a compo submission. The ending was especially heartwarming!

wallted 2026-04-28 19:10

So beautiful game. I am kinda falling apart a little playing this game, some of the shots while very simple are well executed and hit hard :) I quite liked the mechanic of so to say drag and click, it was intriguing from the start. Well done!

cataclysmicknight 2026-04-30 16:38

This was really sweet :D I loved how the two sides interacted with one another so they could meet up again, and appreciated the lack of violence/threats/death scenes lol/etc. Very cozy and lovely!

fgreeman 2026-05-03 19:14

WOw what have I just played??? Can't say that theme is 100% compared to the signals. Guess you can't just draw more in 2 days, but man i really want this game to be longer, i will absolutely give this game highest rate

hagamosvideojuegos 2026-05-03 19:58

I absolutely loved this game!

It’s incredible that you managed to create something like this in just 48 hours. The art is genuinely impressive, and the storytelling says so much without using a single word. The mechanics are simple, but honestly, they don’t need to be anything more, they fit perfectly.

Overall, it’s a really engaging experience with clear potential to grow into something even bigger.

Well done!

tomssuli 2026-05-04 10:28

Sweet game!

Cool idea for utilizing both scenes together in the puzzle, I would have liked to solve even more that kind of puzzles! For some reason I struggled for a while to get the mouse to right place on top of the lighthouse, but otherwise everything worked fine for me.

Nice art and soundscape. Like something out of a storybook. Lovely mood :revolving_hearts:

Great job!

sudocoffee 2026-05-04 18:02

This was an awesome little story!

The interaction was pretty intuitive. First thing when I opened the game, it took me a second to figure out where to drag the character (I kept trying to drag him the top-left), but I also forgot to read the description, so kind of my fault.

The way the two screens move around eachother (and change aspect ratio) is clever, and the visuals and music are lovely.

2026-05-06 09:17

This is a really cool game, both the graphics and the sound design are top-notch! It honestly feels like a 'Mouse Super Mario,' which is a very fun and charming vibe. The gameplay is smooth and the overall presentation is super polished for a jam entry. Great job, I really enjoyed playing this one!
