Funny game. I like this handmade style

I made it to hot chick heaven but I'm not actually surprised considering this happened to me in real life and this is a game about me and all. 😎

Great art and music! Loved charm of the story transition screens. Was laughing the entire time—just like the last time I played one of your games.

Funny stuff!

Would have been nice to have the second half of the intro speeches written down too. Pretty much to just better keep track and know when to proceed really.

I really liked the art direction, especially in some pieces like the newspaper but it wasn't all that consistent. Too bad the story sequence pictures didn't get the same amount of polish. The actual in-game pixel art wasn't quite up to that bar either. The characters looked pretty nice (though I would have loved to see a bit more animation) but the environment looked a bit rushed and very repetitive.

Gameplay wise it was a bit clunky and stiff to control (variable jump height would have helped a ton). But nothing that bad since there wasn't that much pixel precision required anyway. Except that one mandatory between spike landing spot. That was a run killer when going for a speedy run. The ammo limitation felt unnecessary too. The knocked down enemies getting up and shooting so fast that you can't really react to it wasn't great. Would have been nice if there was some sort of warning and/or delay between them getting up and shooting.

By the way, you can die and win at the same time...

Had to go for another faster run too since you're tracking time... 😎 It's pretty interesting mechanic where you have to risk vs reward on going higher or staying near the middle for safer and slower approach. But level design wise you usually had to still climb to the top anyway to reach the goal. And you could often max out the signal by just jumping in the middle.

Anyways, good job! 👍

Now I get what the Artemis mission was doing on the far side of the Moon. Now I want to go there too! A very funny, but unforgiving game. The “No Hot Chicks Heaven” level took me about ten tries, and I was already about to write an angry comment saying I’d been tricked and never got any hot chicks. But the ending put everything in its place. Great game with a strong sense of humor.

My world record run was tragically ruined by 0.1 seconds, but we take what we can get.

Something I don't think I have truly appreciated with your games is the fact that they all run on 90's hardware. You're not working with a Unity3D-esque engine, or anything, which makes all of your games WAY more impressive than they appear. It's been a long time coming, but I'm awarding you with the **Actually runs on a SEGA Dreamcast** award.

And of course, here's the video I recorded to provide as much feedback as possible.

Couldn't become the fastest in the world, but still managed to be the highest at least :) aa.png

Anyway, this was super funny! I really enjoyed a lot of the jokes (and using signal as the messaging app!), and especially the levels were a surprise each time - my favourites were hell (Ludum Dare is dead...) and the moon - really didn't see that one coming! I also loved how the enemies changed slightly in every level - those tiny horns! - such a small but awesome touch!

The gameplay was really cool too, I liked the mechanic of the higher you go, the faster you complete the level - especially for speedruns! I think the first level was actually the most interesting in that regard, as you had to get on top to reach max signal as fast as possible, but also balance going down in time to not waste a bunch of time in the hallways. Some levels were pretty tough too, like the moon with the enemy spam on top, but still fun!

Overall really enjoyed it, hilarious entry as usual :)

Really charming, especially all those little details. The hand-drawn pixel art blends so cleverly with the overall style, and the way the theme is applied is quite interesting too. The audio is also pretty good. Overall, well done!

The voiceover was good as always and the artstyle was charming. I did find the controls very floaty on keyboard with No Hot Chicks Heaven being especially tough. Cool to know it could run on a Dreamcast too!

This is a really nice jam game, the kind of game I like to stumble across. I beat it in 2 minutes 24s and 83ms

alec-cunningham 2026-04-23 19:15

Big fan of this one! Solid in all categories. I took a bit longer than that fella ^ 4 minutes 26s

mahalis 2026-04-24 12:25

This is great. Quite challenging in an old-school-platformer kind of way, but it didn’t feel unfair. Loved the writing—caught me off guard several times in a row—and the art is super charming as well. I think you’re fine theme-wise, I’ve played plenty of games that were way less “signal”-y. Nice work!

oadt 2026-04-25 15:26

You always manage to do the best voice acting  My time is 2m 53s 833ms. I also died and won at the same time once, but was a blast to play through the story and loved the level names!

kit-gorn 2026-04-25 15:57

I don't understand English well, but I had a blast playing this game. It was a pleasure to complete the levels. It's a great platformer. The voice acting is great as always.

steveofstevesgames 2026-04-25 16:51

Really funny, awesome graphics. Im not a speed runner but I could see speed running this being quite fun.

Your games never fail to make me laugh. The platforming felt good, although the second-to-last level was quite hard due to the bullets being quite hard to see and the spikes at the end. I think you implemented the theme quite well with the 'the higher you go, the more points you get' mechanic, Signal is quite a difficult theme to implement well.

ben-morledge-hampton 2026-04-27 18:30

I got some good laughs out of this! The voice acting is a lot of fun and adds a lot to the humor as well. Even though the gameplay is simple, it works well as an accessory to the story and overall creative direction. All in all, very impressive entry, especially for a compo submission.

woona 2026-04-29 10:30

Loved the game and got to the hot chick heaven even though it took some trial and error. The game feels challenging but fair and everything feels right at its place even the story.

I think it's difficult to make the 'signal reception meter' work in a platformer game because you still need to get to the exit. So in the final 2 levels signal meter doesn't even matter, you just need to get to the exit. Just a random idea: maybe signal meter could unlock some special abilities for your character, but to recharge them, you had to get higher in the level.

13pilgrims 2026-05-06 09:29

Super funny and charming entry. The jokes landed well (loved the signal messaging app gag), and each level had a genuine surprise — hell and the moon were my favorites. The tiny details, like enemies growing little horns, really made me smile.

Gameplay is solid: the faster you climb, the quicker you finish the level, which works great for speedruns. That said, the controls feel a bit floaty on keyboard, and some levels (like No Hot Chicks Heaven) are pretty tough. Still, it never felt unfair.

The hand-drawn pixel art, voiceover, and overall polish are excellent. Took me around 4 minutes to beat — short but absolutely worth it. Great work!

sudocoffee 2026-05-06 17:27

Took me quite a few tries (landed twice at 1s 0s 200ms, just short of 100th Coin's record), but I think I got first sub one minute?

Speedrun strats: - **Level 1** - You need to leave the top platform before the meter is filled (so it finishes while walking back). I could probably save a half second or so by making that margin tighter. - **Level 2** - Here I jump right before the end, so I have maximum downward velocity once "News" appears. - **Level 3** - The left side is fastest, but it requires some offscreen platforming (and a well timed bullet) to jump from the top-left platform to the top-right platform (where the guy was standing). Same as Level 2, I jump right before the end for maximum downward velocity. - **Level 4** - Definitely the hardest in the game. Requires a couple mid-air shots, some relatively tight platforming, and a pretty precise jump into the spikes at the end. Then you just keep jumping (the highest platform doesn't have the highest signal) while not moving (since that sends you immediately into the spikes). The last jump needs to be timed right before the end (while also dodging bullets) so you land on "News" as soon as it shows up. - **Level 5** - There's some bullet dodging at the top, but no time pressure once you're up there, so actually kind of the easiest level in the game for speedrunning. You just knock down the guards and wait where "News" shows up.

The game has strong guidance, the style of the graphics is very interesting, and the sound effects add some humor to the game. I think it's a really great game.
