Aww man, I missed reading the whole changing-layout part and thought I had gone nuts while playing this game and losing my way. You really managed to bring out the lost-in-the-woods feeling, kudos for that!
Small note, I once got stuck after charging my phone at a charging station and no 1 press in the world could convince my mobile-phone-loving MC to move on.
Really great game!

Nice idea! I liked trying to conserve power and hop between charging ports. I do think that there's little point to making the player wait for the phone to charge at an outlet, it took quite a while to charge up from 10% to 100%. Also I kind of got stuck at the charging station a couple of times, not sure how I jostled out (I think when I hit '1' to deactivate the cord it would immediately think I wanted to use it again). I didn't realize I could turn my phone off with 'F' either until I accidentally pressed it.
Overall a great idea, could use a lot of polish but hey, it's a game jam!

I laughed with the power banks and the Android stock system haha. The game looks great for being your first 3d game so, keep improving :). Nice job!

Managed to get through to the end! Gave me a little bit of slender vibe :) The waiting time when charging at the outlet was really putting a hard stop to the pace, so an instant refill would have been nice, since you're gonna get it full anyways. Or if we have to wait, give us something to do while we wait. A map, a minigame, just anything :D
Anyways, for a jam, this is a great game, nice work!
Nice creepy vibe. The comments helped me realize I could turn on and off with "f" which was helpful! Great job!

I got pretty far and I was enjoying the models. I got passed the sword and was thinking this is kinda nice... At the next charger station I got stuck tho, maybe i let it charge too long? not really sure. it said press 1 to charge, i was still charging so the mouse was locked but hitting 1 was did nothing for some reason. 2 and F still worked but I was still attached to charger and couldn't detach. Some music would have really helped. the footsteps were a bit loud also. Nice work on the trees, the glowing stones were cool but are they just distractions? Worked as a distraction.
That was an enjoyable entry! The atmosphere was pretty good. I got stuck a few times charging as well, but managed to get unstuck after mashing buttons. Didn't realize that shift let me run until about 30 seconds before finding the ending.
Thank you guys for the feedback.
As for the time taking too long to charge the phone, it is intended because I don't want people to fully charge their phone. I want them to keep going even without full power.
For the bug that being stuck when charging, I acknowledged it and ~~now it fixed~~. It was because after you unplug the phone, it immediately charges your phone again. Edit: Nevermind, it's still bugging. I will try to fix it again later.
For the F to toggle flashlight and Shift to run, actually I don't really want to tell the player about it :p
Once again thanks for the feedback, in return I will play and rate your games :D
I loved the attention to detail with the phone, and the atmosphere was great, I was scared the entire time! :D
Kind of a horror/ominous game, I liked, the graphics looks cool, better than most of ld games, the concept is good too, good game !

Looks like a unity game, why not add some other builds? I don't have a windows machine to play this :/

Great game. It reminds me a lot of Slender Man without the Slender :P
I would like to suggest a change ... Battery takes too long to charge. On my second time charging I just got up and went to the bathroom. That takes away some of the imersion this game requires. So I wouldd make charging take less time.
Its very rewarding when you finally get to the end and you can almost feel relieved. There is also a lot of charging stations scatteredddd around. A player that is exploiting the On/Off trick for saving battery will never be desperate for power. I manageddd to get to the end without getting below 40%.
Great job overall!
@jezzamon: That's exactly what I'm doing right now. I'm trying to make builds for other platforms, but I don't understand the folder structure lol. I think I will look it up again.
@mordokay: As I said in the previous comment, I actually don't want people to fully charge their phone, that's why it takes too long. Then, I was wrong when I thought people will unplug their phone before it's fully charged. I think I will speed it up. Thank you.

It was such a relief to find an exit! Good job, thank you for your entry!

I think this is one of my favourites so far. Really excellent mood with the darkness and the layout changing behind you. Really fits the theme but I'm biased because I also went with a dying cell phone in my game. I even managed to make it through to the end to get to hear the little jingle haha. Very cool game and felt complete which is hard to do in the time we had.
I like how even though I never really got low on power, I still felt pressured to conserve power carefully :)
Got worried partway through that something was going to jump out at me... relieved nothing did. :)
Great art. Cool concept. I liked the eerie atmosphere and really appreciated the detail that was put into the phone like the low battery message, apps, and changing energy bar. While I appreciate what you were going for, I did eventually feel like I was wasting my time by constantly waiting for my phone to charge with how long the charging took. I probably would've kept with it for much longer if the charging didn't take so long. I also felt like the level design was a little bit dull. I don't know what you could do to liven it up but it could use some more intrigue. Overall, cool art and atmosphere, solid concept, and attention to detail really brought this game together. Good work!

Nice! Very nice atmoshpere though not much of a challenge since there's charging stations everywhere.
I liked it! It was fun to move around in and eventually I realized how the rearrange mechanic was triggered so I was prepared for it. (Those landmark objects. :P ) Only thing I want to say is that it was really, REALLY tedious to interact with things.. picking up the power cord or charging banks and interacting with the charging stations required I be oriented a very specific way for the dialog to pop up.. I'm not sure why it was that way.. but.. yea.. it happened... and it made it rather difficult to play without being twitchy a lot and trying to find how to stand in order to get the option to pop up. (I should note I was using the Linux build.)
I didn't finish because I got tired of the footsteps sound, but I did like the atmosphere and set of mechanics. Good work!
Thank you again, everyone, for the feedback.
@excitemike: I originally planned to put some jump scares, but I thought, Nah, I wouldn't make a horror game. And it was because of the limited time, I decided to take that away.
@matt-fabius: Yeah, the charging took too long. Before, I even made that much longer than the current one, but I did speed it up. For the level design, I just randomly drew it so, yeah it needs more work :p
@mrboxbox: I put it randomly at first, but then I tried to play it and put the charging stations where they needed to be, then I was lazy to remove the randomly put ones (which ones are landmarks to help people not to get lost).
@cornelia-xaos: Those landmarks are to help people not to get lost, this game is pretty linear. I felt the interaction is tedious too. This is my first 3D game, so, yeah, I need to learn more how to do stuff like that.
@steve-johnson: I hate the footsteps too haha. It's Unity stock footstep sound and I'm still struggling to get the footsteps sound right. In the future, I will learn about footsteps sound.
Appreciated all of your feedbacks, guys. They are really constructive and make me learn a lot! :D

nice work!!!
I like the simple graphic style of trees. I guess that running between the trees might be more funny than running through the wide path. Funny (and scary!) to find powerbanks in the forest! one of them burned out in my home few days ago :-)
Really liked it, got me hooked until I finished it, although it was lacking some sort of challenge. Good job!
Really fun concept, but a little bit too easy. Level design could be better, because forest looks like a maze with walls made of trees. Also, steering could be better, it feels a little bit floaty right now.
I loved the feel of this game. I got vibes from Slenderman, but also a nice retro kind of feel to it... Kind of like those old DOS games back when 3D games with mazes were starting to become a thing.
And I loved how the forest changed layout as you explored. X-D
It took forever for me to get oriented to pick up items or use charging stations (see @cornelia-xaos comment above). The last two charging stations I got to wouldn't even activate... Could it be some kind of a collision box issue...?
I also agree with other players that the waiting for the phone to charge does feel strange. I get that you don't intend for players to charge to full. Maybe you can think of another way to go about that? Maybe put a cap on the amount of power each station can give/fill up to? (Maybe they're generators with a fixed amount of power?)
Overall an interesting game, great atmosphere to it. I hope you can get the item interaction to work, that was my main trouble. :-)

Had to play this after you mentioned our games were similar. What a cool game! The woods changing layout was seamless, there were times I'd turn around and be faced with a wall of trees where previously there were none, and empty space where there had been trees. Very well executed, and contributed to the ominous atmosphere. Also felt like there wasn't much backtracking / wandering areas I'd been previously, even with my bad sense of direction. Kudos, if that was intentional. I feel like some more sound effects would really solidify the mood of this game, ambient forest noises or something. But great job for your first 3D game, and still managing to create a consistent visual style - and great interpretation of the theme!

I really liked the whole changing of layout as I went on, and all the little landmarks I discovered as I went. The level design was pretty good!
The walking sound did get a tiny bit grating after a while, but it wasn't too bad. I'd suggest maybe adding some music or other ambient noise to make the walking sound not so overpoweringly present.
The graphics were just fine, having some basic 3D models makes a lot of difference. It's something my own game sorely lacks, and it suffers for it.
Overall nice game though, I loved the mood of the game.

Interesting game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk50HLqX0cU

Well, without any "scary stuff", you managed to creepy me. I was certain that something was going to jump at the screen. Very nice job with the level changing... I really lost my senses in there. Just one thing that got on my nerves was the footsteps, they kinda annoyed me, but that's just a minor fix. Really good entry, congrats!
