Great game, loved the humor and the graphics, I especially loved the destruction animation of the boss. I don't know what the crash site was like but the game turned out well in the end, and that's what matters! And I'm glad I got a chance to save our world that we all know is canonically red.

Sad that we can spam fire so much. The boss wasn't that hard but seems really interesting. It's fun enough to make me want to learn English and turn red as a french.

I learned English just to write this comment.
Another brilliant entry. I point it out during my recorded gameplay, but I feel like the audio quality in your games has gotten worse? I just replayed *The dude with a wolf a goat and a cabbage - A modern interpretation* where the audio is perfectly clean. I don't personally know the audio limitations of the SEGA Dreamcast, nor do I own one physically to confirm if it's just an HTML5 issue, but the music in *The Red Baron takes flight again* seems to have a lot of *this:*:

Which causes a gritty sound constantly.
And I know you do this every Ludum Dare, but it bears repeating, the fact that you make games for the Dreamcast is incredibly cool. I was considering making an NES game this time around, but I wasn't super confident that I could pull it off, so I didn't. But the dreamcast itself falls under the theme (deal with it), so I'm awarding you the **Runs on Old Tech Award**!

And of course, for maximum feedbackitude, the video recording.

Massive respect for your choice of technology! As an engineer myself, I really appreciate seeing something like this. The art style made me smile, too. Just wish the game were a bit longer!

At first, I aimed for a record speedrun time. time.png But then I noticed that the score gradually increased as time passed by, seemingly indefinitely. So I went on a (mostly) pacifist run to maximize score. I'll settle for a million, thanks! score.png *I can do this all day, Blue Peasant ~~(after dying once)~~*
Most of my memory was unfortunately overwritten by the 10 seconds boss fight music loop and rocket SFX but the tutorial & ending were my highlights!

This is fun, good job)
Blue Peasant have a really nice voice actor, love it!
Always look forward to a CaptainDreamcast game as the writing and narration with extra commentary is always so good. This one didn't disappoint on that front! Earth is canonically red.
The gameplay segments were perfectly servicable with the boss having some neat bullet patterns. I feel like your plane could have done with being a bit faster and I guess the joke was that you had no reason not to be shooting the whole time. I did like Neptune on Neptune :D
Thanks for making this and really making a statement about old tech, the Dreamcast is 27 years young now!
What a banger entry, I love games with voice acting and humor!

Hi, I learned English just to write how neat and funny is your game. Great work!

What a spirited game, I enjoyed the monologues more than gameplay itself, though gameplay was smooth and served in portions of just the right size.

Blue Peasant didn't have a chance. The game had me laughing all the way through: from the story, to the tutorial, score trying to reach infinity, and the 'boss' shooting backwards. Great game!

FOKK YEAH! The humour was my favourite part, and the narrator reminded me of the hippo from FNaF lmao.

The "Theme Detecting Baron Takes Flight Again" is another banger, and I hope our old tech lasts long enough for you to keep making these.
Seems like the speedrun here is mostly about making sure as many of your ship's bullets hit the (blue (evil)) final boss as possible. Took the record from @frogravity (I dare anyone to take it back):

A fun and funny shoot'm up. Real assets (audio) is always pleasant to see (or heard).
The voice acting is fantastic, and the graphics are great too. The boss is easy to beat: just shoot where the missiles spawn, and the new ones get destroyed instantly.
