Nice!
=)
Played it on twitch here, enjoyed it! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/253784053
Nice combo ! Building would have been a bit smoother if you enabled drag and drop on already placed blocks, I think.
Nice try at the theme. It could've been better with a little bit more puzzles involved. And maybe music. That changes the experience, you know.
@drnoir thanks =)
Nice and minimalist, so you were able to embellish the features a bit (building, dating sim, AND platformer? nice!) Had some difficulties with the colliders in some places, and wasn't able to move my character/got stuck in some spots which took away from the experience a bit. Fun puzzle game though, keep at it!! Also, if you have some time, could you give our game a shot https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/trivia-kart
@Japes610 thanks =)
Great idea, goes well with the theme. The building phase is great and I never had any trouble with it. Overall great game!
You have some issues with the tutorial.
For example, level 3 when you introduce "building disabling". You have a narrow vertical passage that can be blocked easily. Then you give a player 3 building blocks and at the beginning, I didn't understand why did you give me 3 blocks when I can do the same with just one of them, but I believe that was your intention, to make sure that player will block his way back. You don't show the tutorial message until the player gets to the top.
And this is the tricky part. At this time the way back may be blocked already and a lot of players would just ignore the message. They will be stuck in the level without any possible way to complete or even restart it.
That is not how tutorial supposed to work.
@-FA- You can always press R to restart =)
Sorry, I find the NOPE on the moon. haha. Good game.
I did it, I kissed them all!
I thought the genre combination was neat, you managed to put an interesting twist on it with the you-can't-build-on-the-way-back mechanic, that made for some cool puzzles. Would've loved to see more puzzles with the red blocks, I was sad to see it end when it ended. But hey, wanting to see more is the sign of of good LD game, right?
@CaptainDreamcast thanks for feedback =)
I had much fun of the game, although it's completely not my type of graphics.
Overall, it's a nice concept, and while I thought initially that allowing the player to build in mid-air is silly because they can always just use one cube, the limit on building when the player is coming back is interesting and adds to the gameplay. The only thing I'd really fuss about are the floaty controls. I think that the player's acceleration, deceleration and fall speed should be increased to make the controls more snappy. When I played the game it felt like I had much less control than in a usual platformer.
~~Also, we won't question a guy that's going around kissing girls and then driving off in his car? Okay...~~
@Niker107 thanks for feedback, yes whole player controlling feels pretty bad, I would take time to improve it.
Really clever game, and great use of theme. Only critique would be the floaty jumping, but that's excusable due to the mechanic of placing blocks under you when you fall. Good work
Ahh, the perfect life captured in a game ;) It is a bit like super mario maker, but without that annoying plumber shouting all the time. Great entry, hope you continue with it and add some cool music and a more polished build experience.
Nice idea, the platforming could use some work.
@King Kujito thanks for feedback, it was my first platformer, and yes overall player movement could use some work
Dunno if I liked the story, but had some interesting ideas with the mechanics. Some notes about the platforming: -Getting stuck on the walls feels pretty strange. -not being able to jump when touching/leaning against a wall is also strange -Overall movement could be more snappy- there's a lot of drag going back and forth -The jumping feels a bit floaty - I guess this helps with the placement of blocks though. Keep up the good work!
