The graphics were nice. Instead of the shaking, a balance meter. Something like this: 2665740-balance meter.jpg
to tell if the glasses are falling would make it better.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → The Beer Street

Haha, fun game! Made it through all the levels, I loved how intense the later levels got, starting with level 3 I got a lot of intense nailbiter moments (especially level 3, that one was my favorite, I just barely pulled through with a pixel-perfect jump). Great take on the theme and turning being a waiter into a game! I really really liked the audio design where you could use the audio cues to determine how dangerous the current shaking is, that was a great addition. Very cool game!
@loopinteractive thanks for the positive feedback :). I tried to realize the indication with direct visual and audio feedback instead of an UI element ;).
@captaindreamcast thanks for the great review and feedback! I know that it's very challenging to make it through the later levels so super awesome of you to have managed to make it through all of them :). Well done! And thanks again for the kind words :).
Fun game indeed! I like how it encourages slower pace and precision - it felt like the discipline is a key to success. Also congrats on making a polished and complete game during such a short event! Lighting is really atmospheric as well.
Your lighting is so cool! The rule that you don’t spill beer is always a good idea.
@tnnv and @senso thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the positive feedback a lot! :)
I love the graphics and the IK!
The game is pretty fun :D Nice job! :)
@d3kryption thanks a lot! :D
10/10 for graphic. I like the style and their "stupid" face. You are creating a fun game, where I can throw expensive beer to scare dogs away. Pretty interesting. One thing I would recommend is to make the level less deliberate. For example, those bricks should not to be there as obstacles. Anyway, good luck and welcome to play my game as well.
The city planner here is really out of his mind !
The animal hitboxes were my least favorite part, it was fairly hard to tell when you would overlap them, even they visually pass beside you they would still cost you a couple beers, especially on level 4 with those going perpendicular to the path.
The jump obstacles on the other hand felt quite generous.
I won a couple levels with all beers but was disappointed to see there wasn't a perfect score reward haha.
Not bad. Having enemies that move from the background to the foreground was a nice way to make use of the 2.5D look, and I liked how terrifying the last level was. I felt like throwing glasses was an almost useless mechanic because of how hard it was to aim, and there was one enemy that was a bit too erratic in its movement pattern IMO.
@firespike33 thanks a lot for your constructive feedback + i agree with you 100%. Gameplay would have been more balanced if throwing would have some kind of aim-assistance + jumping would cause less shake + the throwing mechanics could be used against some kind of enemies that can't be bypass otherwise (strong enemies + eventually also boss fight types + the easiest would have been a glass wall that needs to be destroyed for example). I only invested 14-15 hours for the whole game, so you can assume something like 1/3 coding, 1/3 level creation and design and 1/3 everything else like lighting, art-design, gameplay balancing, polishing, publishing and so on :).
That is a very funny game idea! I like it!
Fun game! I thought your level design and minimal UI were very good. Maybe the minimalist look could have gone even further by removing the counter number, but that would have its own issues as well. I also like the focus on precision, as Tnnv previously pointed out. I would have just slapped time limits on every level and forced the player to run through them, which would have been a mistake. Very impressive for 15 hours!
The attention to detail in the graphics of this game is commendable, as the developer's dedication shines through in the intricacies of the art design.
There was a lot of care piled into the mood and graphics of this game, and it made it really enjoyable to sit down with and play a bit. Your sense of style is really enjoyable.
