Its a cool little game!!!
Cool. I would add a more space-like background if you continue to develop this game
I hesitated to put a background to keep the game clean, maybe i will, thanks for the feedback!
Cool little game!
I would cut off the first level if I were you, it's good for the very first time you play, but after that you have to wait 5/6s without doing nothing because of the level^^
simple but nice audio! Would have liked a background too!
level generation makes impossible situations
The horizontal speed felt too high, which caused the ship too crash a bit too often. Frustrating but cool game.
Simple but very well made! The "feel" of the game is just right! The movement feels responsive and the goal is very clear! My one complaint is that it takes way too long to get back to where you were when you died. Maybe add checkpoints, or like @ngupsilon said maybe cut off the first level?
@ngupsilon @ethan-nachreiner Yeah you are right. Even for me after soooo many test this first level is boring. It was just to don't put a tutorial because i'm lazy ahah. Thanks for the feedback. I will probabibly improve this game later !
@jay-purcival Yeah it happens sometimes... :/
@m8rix i wrote it in my note ;)
@jackou Damn i should made this background !
Very addicting game, mainly because it is frustratingly hard haha, but that is something i like. Nice audio asswel. However i think the random levels make undoable situations and the you should have made more art like your character because it was nicely done. Keep it up!
My max score is 5, glad I played long enough to see the moving barriers. It was addictive, but I'm also really bad so don't think I could get to your score 17 even if given all day.
I agree that checkpoints, at least every few levels, would have made it more fun so I don't have to start all the way at the beginning again.
@laytanl It's my first time in doing my own music thanks to this GameJam so i'm glad to listen this! I noticed impossible situation. It can happen sometimes but it's hard to avoid them !
@jack-lance Well, my first purpose it was to make a frustrating game so checkpoint and second life aren't the welcome but maybe i should consider two difficulty at the start which could allow checkpoint !
Nice game, good sound and music too.
I really liked the chill music and simple graphics (though they were messing with my head after a bit!). Wish I was better at it so I could have gotten farther, I also would have liked if it counted the level you were on and not the levels completed? Congrats!
I was about to complain about an impossible situation I came across, but then the side walls destroyed the obstacle and made me go "oooooh, smart", so really props to you for that, a smart "get out of jail free" card on the Design aspect ;>.
The gameplay also works well, does what he has to do and it gives the correct feelings I think.
A thought I shared on some games and that applies to your as well, is that making a trail-and-error heavy level-based game for Ludum Dare can be a double-edged sword. Those who will play your game are 99% of the times other Ludum Dare participants, and we have to play a lot of games, spending no more than 5 or 10 minutes for a game.
Maybe you had a really smart and thought out piece of Level Design at Level 8, but people will never know because they get stuck two times at the beginning of Level 3 after 5 minutes of Gameplay and feel like they saw everything. Probably the hard trial and error was to start around level 9 I think (considering that you said you got to Level 17), with one single frustrating moment around 30 seconds of Gameplay, to establish the mood of the Game and let the player know what experience he or she is going to live.
That being said, I appreciated the game, also that "ooooh" moment was really precious!
I loved this game! It's really fun, but background really deserves some love (space maybe? galaxies?)
Your idea is theme fitting, and some level design decisions are clever.
Thanks for working to your first entry! Don't forget to play and rate other games to have your rated as well.
CYA!
@simone-cicchetti Thanks you so much for your big answer ! Yeah i saw that my game need to be a little be tryhard if you want to see more level. I really should make two diffculty like peacefull and insane which could allow checkpoint for the first one!
@memel06 Yeah i didn't want to put a background to keep the screen clean but it definitelly deserve it ahah
Quite impossible no ? hehe ^^' You should not make random length for these obstacles because I was stuck to level 2 many time because an obstacle was as large as the screen :/ The music is cool though and the graphics work well.
Cool overall game :) Keep coding :)
@Mathiouza As said in the description there is one strategy in each level. Obstacle can be destroyed when they collide two side ;) Let them come to you. Just back off ;)
Oh ok ^^ I did not found that x) Sorry ^^' So I replayed it and that is easier now, yes x))
Quite nice game, sometimes it's hard to complete the level. Good job)
@mathiouza your welcome :) It's not easy to find i agree with that ahah
@erendelous Thanks you ! Yeah it's hard i will probably upgrade it with a peacefull difficulty which allow checkpoint !
I was terrible at it and didn't get far but had fun playing! The ways the walls scale was very disconcerting to me for some reason, they seems to shift weirdly all the time. Not sure if that effect was intentional but made the game a lot more intense for me.
Simple, yet challenging! I had a couple of really bad games, but after the third game, I got the hang of it, and got much further. Interesting concept, and fun to play!
