Nice graphics!
Awesome graphics!
I love these graphics, feel like my good old NES. I want to play my good ol' NES right now :D

Could not stop the barrages, but got a score of 750! Nice game. It is really hard to stop the meteors when they appear at the same time on both the far edges. Would be nice if the movement speed was a bit higher since currently you can't catch some of them even if you react fast when they show up. Good little game though and nice graphics as others already mentioned. Well done.
Brings back some super memories and the mood is excellent... So cool you created this game for C64, this looks amazing
This guy! Fantasy consoles not good enough for you, gotta make a game for a REAL console! Well done.
I got around 400 points, mostly taking hull damage when asteroids spawned on the opposite side of the screen such that it would be impossible to reach them in time before losing a man. But this is a compo entry and cool as hell. Looks great. Nice touch that the web version includes the CRT shader.
Honestly, I couldn't get it to work with keyboard and mouse but I still score you high on Mood, to take a pixel art game and run it on C64 emulator... bravo!
Very impressive entry, and pretty pixel art. Frustrating when death felt unavoidable, but overall quite fun. Style of game felt old-school too, like those old hand held black and white games (with the non-grid LCD's), which often involved moving a player left and right. :ok_hand:
Excellent artwork, game looks great and killer job making something that runs on the C64. Great work, keep it up.
Scored 880 - I hope that's a lot! :D Artwork is absolutely fantastic and the game itself is very fun. Could have been a bit faster and it really needs some music but overall, it's a very good entry!
Great visual style, love it. The player movement may seem a bit slow, but fits the balance I guess. Firstly I thought I was blocking with fire button, cause hands went up, actually it was firing, some sort of projectiles would fit very well.
5 stars graphics i expected when you go inside itd be a different game mode or something, shooting aliens or something idk but supposed its beyond scope thats fine, just saying my player expectations feedback lol
I tried to play it in the browser with my mouse and keyboard to no avail. I can't rate the game, but I can add a +1 report that it's not that accessible. :'(
Well made game. Sometimes its not possible to get all meteors, but that can just as well be inteded. It looks great, it feels great, extra points for going the extra mile to actually develop for the target platform instead of just simulating the looks like everyone else AND still making it a web game.
loved the presentation, gameplay was also very fun! my best score was 1060
It brought so many memories of old games I played! Well done! Kind of shame there is no 8-bit music in the background, but there is only so much a person can do in limited time :)
nice entry : ) my feedback would be to have some sort of graphic to show the how you are pushing away the asteroids to give a sense of where the hitbox is for that interaction
Scored a nice little 850! But I could do better! :D
@mickey-sanchez: Yeah, I was thinking about showing sort of a pulse flying upwards, but that would've cost me one sprite out of 8. So I decided against it, and instead the whole column above the player is affected.
Amazing compo entry!
It's a very oldschool game, with everything that entails - mostly the good stuff, with some of the bad. Like the diagonally falling meteors spawning on the other side of the screen and immediately hitting the side without giving me any chance to react (come on, game!).
It's pretty difficult, but I don't think it's too much. Once you get used to the controls you can quickly get better at judging which rocks you'll manage to get in time and which ones you should just leave. And I'd say the hit detection on the pulse and asteroids is pretty forgiving, as you can quite often hit a rock pretty far off center, or even hit multiple rocks with a single pulse. It's also good that you don't have to run around for long before you can take shelter inside to replenish your O₂, as you get a short break (and the needed hull repairs) before the next round.
Despite that, you will occasionally get punished hard, especially if in your hubris you think that you definitely can make it to a rock and have it land on your head. Thankfully, the playthrough is pretty quick, so if you lose you just start over again immediately and try to beat your previous score. Several times I found myself just starting another go instead of switching tabs to write this comment. :P
Basically the only thing that is missing is some background music. The sounds are great, but they would be even better if they were accompanied by some simple chiptune. Other than that, I think it's perfect. Sure, it could be expanded by having more threats and upgrades for the player, but I think that it would work against it's old-school simplicity.

Difficult! I love the aesthetic, and the gameplay is tight. I found that it was hard to catch all meteors due to move speed, but was great to play otherwise! Great job.
Wow this takes me back! Gameplay is simple but fun and the art is top notch. If I were going to add anything it'd be a hull repair mini game between rounds and player upgrades (speed, pulse, oxygen).
As everyone else has said the graphics get a 5*. Audio was good. I wasn't a big fan of the gameplay, but it works as a game and was fun enough for a jam game. You get extra Overall marks for making a C64 game. I enjoyed it. Good stuff :8ball:
It is very nostalgic! Graphics are on point, and the game plays well. As others have said, sometimes it's unforgiving or plain impossible, but that just makes it more "like games used to be" in my head.
I died stupidly of running out of oxygen because I didn't realize I'd have to go back inside after a while. It felt bad the first time, but then I knew, and a new layer of strategy was revealed. It's honestly pretty cool.
