The overall game is great combined with the humor, and graphics. But I felt like the rate of fire was far to low. I felt like there was no way I could hit some of the enemies in time without taking a hit, especially when the game turned into a certified bullet hell. Seriously this is great tho.
5/5 Very nice entry. Dificulty curve progress very well. 3 BOSSES in a compo entry is fckin impressive!! Music is great. I love the still images on menu and intro. Congratulations.
Cool game! I really like the images and the music.
I agree with the low rate of fire, that and the lack of reward for hitting enemies means that the strategy is to avoid enemies or ram into them if the ship is stable enough (that's okay for me though). Maybe adding a score or power-ups could help.
Great game!
Fun game! Liked the music and the designs of player's ship and bosses.
Really cool mechanic idea, it's an interesting deviation from the normal constant spamming in a shmup. Overall it was super fun, although I agree with earlier comments that making the gun stronger would have added more risk/reward. I think using the stability mechanic more for gun balance would be really awesome :3
Cool game! I love the music and SFX and the art is nice too. The game plays well and overall is really fun. great work!
You did it again with a compo. I honestly don't know how you manage to do all that alone and in 48 hours.
Anyway, I played it to the end, and it's really great ! The only thing I could notice is that on stage 2 and 3, I just tend to hug the high or low border of the scene to avoid all projectiles and enemies. Some enemies with something to counter that would be great.
Otherwise, awesome music, graphics are good for the game, and gameplay is fun ! I like the idea of the reverse lifebar.
Congratulations ! :)

Inspired by @fluffy-kaeloky I knew I could do it and 30min later I did it! I beat the game! I loved the boss battles (esp the end one) and the patterns, and the whole mechanic this is just a great shooter. Its a great looking pixel art space shooter. I love the art. The controls are great with wasd and mouse being a natural combo for gamers but its nice to have other options too. Cool exciting Music! I LOVE how the music rocks in the menu, then ROCKS in teh level, then we get a boss theme and then even get an awesome level complete theme! ilove it! Its cool that you get more stable as you go. the idea that firing energy weapons might make the ship less table seems actualy really sci-fi realistic. Great that it autopauses when it loses focus. And WOW About 30 min later I've beat the game and I get to hear some epic triumphant win music! Its really great! Thank you!
Super impressive work for a compo game, great retro aesthetic and gameplay. Nice job
congratulations for the graphics and the music! I liked many. The only drawbacks are the bullets that are too slow and the lack of visual feedback. Hitting / being hit is not understood
Thanks @richard-baron @jungle @chesschaser @rafael-garcez @r3l0ad1 @cakts for playing! I checked every game that you guys made and commented my opinion on them!
@liamlb663 @cagibi @nethead the objective was to provide an inverse experience, when you must decide when to shoot and in most cases just flee. I'm sorry the experience was impaired by the shooting mechanics. Power-ups were considered, but the time restrictions made me choose for not implementing them.
@fluffy-kaeloky hey, always nice to hear from you, and as far as i know you were the first to beat the game! Congrats! I didn't really had enough time to do a decent game design, and i guess that the fact it works after 48h by myself is something. The original idea involved 9 stages, power-ups, different types of guns but you know, the time limit starts to make you remove several aspects of the game. I'm also sorry the game doesn't include frenchcore, my bad!
@fabdynamic thanks for the kind words and congrats on beating the game! I'm really happy you had a pleasant experience with my game!
@giulychu i included glowing when hitting and a little splash animations for the bullets when they hit something, and also audio feedback. I'm sorry it aren't enough. Can you give me some insight in how i can improve in future games these visual feedback?
Fun game, but I think the theme is a little weak.
Nice graphics, interesting story. I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/JFLObqK2o9M
the mechanic of this game is simple but the game is very interesting,a simple change of life-bar change the strategy of the game. And you may add more phase and ability(for example, the boss cast some shield so when you attack it your instability will increase, and so on) to bosses so the boss fight will be more interesting.Anyway it is a great game!
I had a lot of fun playing this. I really enjoyed the single bar, and I also thought the gameplay was pretty smooth.
Really really cool game! Felt really polished! I loved the music, especially the music in the intro. The gameplay is solid.
The only thing is that level 2 is a bit too slow to my taste, neither really difficult. The boss of stage 2 is so cool though!
Great work!
The music is amazing, waow. The game... a bit less. Even though it costs life, shooting should have been a bit faster, and enemies are normally killed in one-shot in shoot them ups. These two things, plus the lack of scoring, make it so the player is better off dodging and waiting in a corner rather than fighting, which is a bit weird for this style of game. Overall, for a compo game, it's very well done, there's just a lot of ironing out that would make the experience a bit more fun to me.
The game is really well done! Great art, music and FX! Really an amazing work!
This is super clever. I like that the introduction of the instability with each shot makes you conserve your ammo and turns what is usually a bullet hell-style game into a much more nuanced and strategy-based entry. Also the title screen music reminds me of the Brinstar theme from Metroid and that makes me happy.
Great game! I liked the use of a single bar for health and firepower. I too feel it lacks a little polish in the gameplay (sometimes it seems better to crash into enemies kamikaze-style instead of avoiding the bullets and firing) but overall is nice.
Enjoyed playing! Audio was very good, only a bit loud haha! I liked the bossfights!
Nice shooter, and a lot of content for a 48-hour game, with bosses and all! Having to choose what to shoot is interesting, though ramming is often easier than shooting.
Really fun game!
Those sprites are amazing, and go with the music to create this cool aesthetic. The amount of content/polish on this is super impressive for a compo submission. The size of the enemy roster was impressive, and you had unique backgrounds for each level. Everything looked and felt great, from the health bars to the explosions.
Unfortunately I don't have any constructive criticism for you, I feel like you nailed it. Nice job.
Made it as far as the boss on the second stage. Pixel art is pretty nice and I appreciated the amount of music tracks you made, they were also pretty good and reminded me classic schmup style soundtracks in their retro funkiness. The core mechanic is an interesting take, but for me is a bit problematic in that shooting stuff is kind of a key part of the fun in schmup style games, so discouraging it sort of detracts from the fun, also the unstability bar takes quite a while to go down. The result was that my most succesful main tactic was to mostly hide in corners and wait for it to go down and not engage with the game, which isn't super fun. I also felt things were a little slow paced. Also its kind of weird approach that the bosses get easier the less health they have, which is the opposite of most games and doesn't help to increase the tension. So overall nice work for 48H but feel like the fun factor could be improved with perhaps a bit more balancing.
The game looks and sounds great and is fun to play. Since there is no score, there is no incentive to actually shoot things except in self defense, and even then just ramming things is more effective because it's easier and you lose stability anyway. I managed to beat the first boss.
Fun game! I made it as far as the (first?) boss and died due to not realizing I was near my unstability limit - it would be really nice to have some stronger on-screen indicator of stability - ship flashing red or something when firing or getting hit will kill you, so you know to pick up the powerup or stop shooting.
I enjoyed what I played, and liked the look and sounds, good job!
Super solid game! I managed to finish it on my second try :v: As others have commented - some kind of warning/visual effect when you are close to reaching critical instability would have been helpful. I'm impressed by the audio track - great work on that.
A nice shmup you got there, well done for 48h! The bosses were the most fun part of the game imo, levels themselves were a bit too long & one could just dodge everything without shooting a bullet. The music and the pixel art style complemented each other well, and the controls were solid. I liked all the sound effects except the shooting sound which could have been more "laser like" and perhaps used some random variation when repeating. The theme of instability was there, but felt a bit tacked-on. The 3 bosses & their AI were really well made tho, it was a joy fighting them! All in all, great work!
