I liked the sprites, boss battle, ending and background music. The other levels had too much walking back to get upgrades though. They could be designed more compactly. Performing those 4-button combos was also a bit tricky.

background music is awesome)
I agree with zuf that the game was a little bit slow-paced. But I liked the graphics and the music was super awesome. Also, really nice job on the physics, they felt really good in the game.
The music is super rad! The character's run animation reminds me of mega man. Great game!
Music is really nice, and the graphics too. I know this is probably because of the theme, but it's really annoying to have to walk around too much to get things to open :)
Some terminals can be enabled without knowing really what I enabled, just might be nice to have some on screen message about that.
Also text is kind of too similar to background, somewhat difficult to read.
All in all, nice work :)
Solid mechanics and idea. Like others mentioned, it has some of a walking simulator here and there, but the music compesates for it. Well done!
Olha aeeeee ficou muito bom!!! Curti de mais a movimentação do bonequinho! Muito bom Derek!
I felt like the game was a bit too slow, the lack of inertia when jumping also made me miss a lot of jumps, thus making the experience a bit frustrating.
Otherwise, I really like the music and the mechanics (Other than jumping). As said before a little bit of camera panning when a terminal do something would be also great.
Again, the music is really awesome and is the best part of your game for me.
Congratulations on making it for the LD45 Compo ! :D
Really enjoyed the platform mechanic where the players evolves over time! I just think the game can work already with less instructions in some parts of it and the lots of backtracking can annoy some people too, but the game is really well done graphically and is very fun too! Great job!!
Very fun game, i think if the character run a little faster the game would be more dinamic, also when getting hit by an enemy would be cool to have a little time to recover (on the last boss I died a few times because a single hit sent me into air and killed me without chance to recover). The music and SFX are SUPER. Good job and entry.
Good job! Sometime's it's a little annoying when an enemy bounces you into a wall and you take a ton of damage, but once that happens once it's relatively easy to avoid.
nice game, only thing I didn't like is going back at some moments, it broke my feeling of progressing in a way
Such an enjoyable entry! Loved the sprites and the music, and the theme fits nicely. Good job!
Pros: Plays well, looks good, sounds great. Cons: The level design and pacing could be improved.
Such a nice entry. Music, art and gameplay were all really nice.
Thank you all for the kind words, recomendations and mostly for taking your time to play and rate my game.
Hey @zuf, @apace, @beshr-kayali, @griz, @asturk, @miu, @p-r the game design really went not good. Initially i planned to do only level design and decoration at the last day in order to do proper testing of all components but i could only start it when i had 4 hours left, so it went kind of rushed. I planned to make 8 levels plus boss, but had to condensate all the upgrades in three and the backtracking really turn out annoying. I will try to work more time in this next jam and keep your thoughts in mind. Sorry :(
About what @paulo-brunassi and @marcel-oyuela-bonzani said, the invincible post-hit time ended up in the to-do list. I wished to do something like rockman but the time constraint didn't allow me.
@fluffy-kaeloky could you elaborate more about the lack of inertia when jumping? I had a similar question about in the last jam and tried to improve the physics on this one. If i could improve it more, it would be even better.
Also thanks @assaf, @the-osk, @plepletier, @blobo, @webus for taking your time writting a comment. I am trying to play, rate and comment on the positive and negative aspects of everyone that commented here and as soon as possible.
@derek-volker In platformers, jumping is a critical gameplay element. What I meant by lack of inertia means two things : - Perhaps modify the air control speed ? The player maybe should be able to move faster/slower when jumping ? It depends on the type of game you're making and requires a bit of experimentation. - But mostly this : Your jump is constant up and down. No matter how long you press the jump key, your jump will always go at the same height and fall down at the same rate. This is a big no-no for platformers, as the jump will feel floaty and loses some precision.
There's an excellent video by BoardToBitsGames explaining exactly that : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KiK0Aqtmzc
Good luck perfecting your platformer ! :)
@fluffy-kaeloky "This is a big no-no for platformers", well it worked in Ghouls n Ghosts. It can be used as a mechanic.
I think the game is a bit too slow paced, but overall nice job. Great music!
Really cool graphics! Could use a bit more lighting but super cool if that is ignored, great agne
I have to say I didn't have any issue with the jumping per se. It wasn't something that came to mind. I really think this is a well executed game with some nice extra components (the modes).
My only issue was the level design - not visually - but the layout. I think the challenges you were presenting were good, but the levels involved a lot of 'boring' time as well as 'interesting' time. My opinion is that you want to maximise 'interesting' time as much as possible. For example on the first level, you have a deep drop that means if you're at the bottom, it takes a long time for the lift to come and get you. The level could have worked mechanically with just a small drop - enough for you not to be able to walk out. Another instance I felt a bit bored was trying to get on the elevator next to the first 'enemy' you meet. That elevator requires a precisely timed jump to get on it but if you fail the jump you just have to wait for 10 seconds. The interesting jumps are at the top of the level, the jumps which are recovery jumps should be kept easy, i think.
Thankfully the whole game was put together well and my feedback is just a minor comment. Whilst standing around I was enjoying the 80s style music :musical_note: :sunglasses: Well done
A very cute looking robot in a very unwelcoming world. Otherwise classic platforming if you like this sort of thing! It actually reminds me of MegaMan
I enjoyed the graphics and music but the level design could be improved. Falling down and having to wait what felt like an eternity so that a platform can get you back to the starting point breaks the pace of the game.
Overall, it is a good entry. Congrats!
I liked the art. I didn't enjoy the slow pace, i played for 18 good minutes but i was always bad in megaman anyways. So that might be on me. I loved the BG Retro Music. I did zone out for a while like how it happens in jumanji. Mood hit: Nostalgic.
I liked the art a lot and music was awesome! It felt a bit too slow paced
the music is pretty funny, I like it. The graphics are simple but it's quite worked for a compo version. Great work
Nice graphics and the battle boss was epic. And the best was the humor at the end. :) But I have a EU Keyboard this made the jumping sort of a bit tricky... I would have expected jump on space. But over all its a great game!
Waiting for platforms in the second level was too much for me, and made me rage quit. It'd work a lot better if there were multiple platforms. I'd rather fail jumping up than wait for 10 seconds for platform to come down every time I fall.
Apart from that, the music fits perfectly, I loved the few audiotracks that played (jump sound, and that red thing between two gray things), and the graphics is solid. Good job!
The backtracking in the third level took way too long. Missing platforms in level 2 cost a lot of time too. Having to super jump and then super shoot is awkward, but doable. Made beating the final boss feel more like entering a code than a big fight. 2Z3X. Repeat.
Despite those complaints, this is a great game! Really nice job here.
This game looks really nice. I like the minimal use of bright colors against a mostly gray background. While the controls made the final boss fight a bit difficult, I really like the concept of the game. Thanks for sharing it with us on stream!
really fun game but would be better with jumping
Solid puzzle platformer! I really like the twist that since you can't jump (at least not in the 1st level) the moving platform move into the 'ground' so you can climb on them. Solid art and sound matching the robot theme of your game! I encounter a few collisions errors where the player 'canon' hand appear inside the wall when the player collide with left or right walls but nothing major that can distract from the game's solid gameplay! Nice work!!
Lots of backtracking with boring movement speed((( Good level design)
Thanks for submitting the game to our P&R-Stream. Enjoyed playing it - first level was super easy but in level 2 the bottom platform was too hard (if not impossible) to reach. Add some "room"?
Things I liked - Good art and animations - Some original mechanics design - I like the music - Good concept
Suggestion for improvement - Level design causes lots of running through empty areas with little to do during the run.
Super cool game! I loved the idea of getting more and more upgrades. I would like to see the standard running speed increased as right now it felt a little tedious when running. Other than that, great entry!

2 things I disliked. The big brain controls were too hardd! 2, Z, 3, X up down left right!....how am I processing all those keys at once! And they're kinda away from easy finger placement, so I had to look at the keyboard a lot. It was frustrating lol. Stupid boss turned on me in the end! like I'm disposable! HA, GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED!
Neat start with nothing features. Exploring the levels to achieve perks, though I did find myself running back and forth too many times with a really slow movement speed lol.
But in the end, I am satisfied :>
This is great! I like the atmosphere/mood, and it feels clean and polished. I did find it a bit slow to start with but the music and sound effects were great. Good job!
