Looks good!
The video game caught me for a long time, it is very fun, the collection of tools to fan points is very varied, my contribution would be the following: Add live rails, which allow increasing the speed of the cart due to the number of deaths that are made on them. :)
Sweet! keep on going my friend!
Absolutely loved the graphics, most fun game I've played so far from here. Being able to see the notes was cool too (:
A little scary.Very interesting style.
My bloodbath came to a rather abrupt end at 286,640 points, I'm sorry to say. I did one test run to learn the mechanics, bailed because I realized I mucked it up, and then came back and got that run. It seems like a strategy game, but I feel like the key to getting a really good score is sheer reflexes and apm. ...so exactly like an RTS. I applaud you for making a roller coaster game for people who kill people in roller coaster games.
Very nice work, and interesting game... you could add some sound sfx feedback to actions like buttons or people
nice graphic and mood ! But Keys did not work for me :(
@hadesfury sad to hear about the keys no working :( I will take a look to see if it can be fix.
@hadesfury I added support for the numpad. I hope it will work for you!
I really liked it!
I found the game bit buggy, the first time I played no portals opened up for me :'( But I restarted and voila!! They systems on display are solid, if you have some time that's where I would spend it next :)
Nice game!
Fun game, maybe I was missing something but it seemed kinda aimless. Not a bad thing to be clear; that's a valid way to take this sort of thing, just seems a bit of an odd choice given the limitations presented by the jam.
Really nice game! Well done
Hi,
I can't seem to launch the game. It crashes with a black screen after clicking on play in the main menu. Hell.PNG
I've noticed that the game initializes my Oculus Rift before launching. I tried to find a log file in the games files, but couldn't find one.
Perhaps try to take a look into that ? Mention me in a comment me for me to give it another try and rate it accordingly :)
Cool take on the theme! The graphic style is unique and I really liked it. The menu is really well thought out too. I had some trouble understanding the mechanics at first, so I messed up and had to restart the level... I also felt it lacked some kind of feedback/objective that keeps you motivated to continue playing. I'm not saying that feeding Satan isn't a noble enough goal, just that some in-game reward would have felt good (like progressively unlocking the weapons and such)! Good job nonetheless!
@jasper-hansen Thanks for the feedback. Our game was made with the intention to be an arcade game with the only to goal to make the highest score by ... keeping the bloodbath going on until it becomes too hard. We missed a very important tho I agree: a leaderboard ! Not sure about your comment on limitations presented by the jam? Are you talking about the theme? If yes, I invite to re read the rules https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules. The theme is not define as a constraint but a starting point for your creativity. But to make our intentions clear on our take of the theme: - You play as a Satan's subject, building a **looping rollercoaster**, trying to ** capture fresh damneds** to ride it. - Your task is to satisfy the **endless** hunger of Satan and thus for **eternity**. - In order to feed your master, you can build traps to harvest the people **stuck** on the rollercoaster in a **never-ending** bloodbath. Hope that clears thing for you, thanks for playing :)
I've played it more than expected, my score is 285160! The patience of satan at a certain point become really unstable ahah It was fun adn addicting to watch the carts go crazy all over the screen, music and sfx were also nice and juicy.
At first i didn't understood it to be honest, but also because I was not zooming out and the first human come in the screen like 1 minute after the start.
I would have removed the zoom thing, the first playthrough I totally ignored it, the second one i just stay as zoomed out as possible. Also, I just keep using the random item since it is so cheap, but it made the game easier and therefore funnier, if it was harder I wouldn't have had so much fun. I think the best part is just watching everything move, while the managing side of the game is not its core.
@fluffy-kaeloky Thanks for the feedback! I just upload a new build with the unreal VR plugins disabled. Let me know if it works :)
That was a very unusual game. It took me a little bit to understand what I was supposed to be doing but once I picked it up, I was able to have fun making weird little tracks and slaughtering people.
It does feel a little slow and doesn't push you enough to improve. I was able to coast along (ha!) without much difficulty and just a few traps.
The little touches are very cute, like how people will wave their arms on a fast run and so on. Nice!
Very personalized art and good gameplay, and you can even build a roller coaster to experience it!Nice!
Although I was a bit confused to start with, once I understood the premise it was a lot of fun! Once you start drawing only downward tracks to rifts, you get some serious speed (and serious murder) happening. Really creative idea with a lot of personality. Great job!
@tennotako That indeed fixed it for me.
So, I was able to play it, and I had a lot of fun. It was a bit confusing at first, and for 80% of the play time I didn't realize that you could move the camera.
For the gameplay, it was fun. I would have liked the traps to be less effective, but infinite time-wise. I also think a good idea would have been to allow the humans to board the cart only if it is slow enough. Otherwise, I just had to put downward slopes (Or even a 90 degrees straight down rail) with portals to make the carts go to insane speeds.
The sawblade purchase isn't worth it either. The 'random object' purchase a pretty good chance of spawning a sawblade, for a fraction of the price. I ended up using only the random object.
The art is decent. I like the spriteworks, the background not so much. Way too many colors, and too saturated.
I also think that I discovered by accident a feature that you used for testing, as I was able to create humans portals by pressing R :-)
That combined with the only downward slopes led me to pretty much break the game, and get into the million range score until the apparently exponential decay caught me :p

A solid entry overall. Congratulations on making it into LD47 !
What an incredible game! I loved it, great job
Nice game!
Pretty nice game, unfortunately adding futures to the game after the deadline is against the rules and not fair (only bugg fixes allowed) ):
Cool game well done
Innovative and fun. Nice job setting the hellish mood. The title is hilarious. I played to 25k points before realizing you could zoom out. The best part was getting the roller coaster to go super fast. I almost made a roller-coaster game myself because, well, Mr. Bones' Wild Ride. Good job!
Ooh a very cool take on the theme, and some nice unique aesthetics! Fun game, and I always love a good hell setting especially in jam games. Kudos!
Metal as hell! :D
It's so satisfying seeing the hellycoaster racing around!
