Vous avez une remarquable DA, à la overcooked, mais surtout extrêmement propre pour une gamejam, gros gg pour ça. Côté prise en main du personnage, c'est simple mais efficace et j'apprécie beaucoup qu'on puisse y jouer à la manette. Les pièges sont chouettes dans l'ensemble, bien que les hitbox soient parfois un peu étrange, peut être un point à améliorer. J'ai trouvé l'ensemble très propre mais y est peu vu le thème "instable" malheureusement, bien que je comprenne l'intention. Pour l'expérience de jeux en elle même, peut être apporter plus de varité dans la manière de collecter des ressources pour les potions, car c'est un peu répétitif. Critique à prendre avec des pincettes, je suis très impressionnée par la qualité du travail abattu et je vous félicite toustes pour ce travail de dingue !

Really wanted to play this one, the art looks top notch, but I couldn't control it properly. Keyboard only moved in one direction and ps4 gamepad didn't seem to be recognized? Also it launched steam vr unexpectedly, so maybe that had something to do with it. Hope it gets an update because it looks really nice.

@landosystems I'll fix the inputs tonight, like I said it before, the key mapping match a French layout and the classical wasd is zqsd. I'll test the ps4 issue but it seams pretty strange to me that it launch steam VR, it's probably something on your side more that in the game but I'll check that too!

Hi, Your game is really interesting and I liked playing it, but I think it needs some game element that will make the game more fun to play.
Very cool idea, you can make a very interesting complete game out of it. I played with controller but it didn't recognize a PS4 controller connected directly, I had to emulate it as an Xbox controller. The keyboard with the current key configuration is quite difficult to play. Maybe if orders were coming in and there was a time limit, similar to Overcooked, the game would be more interesting. Congratulations for the entry
Now this is very nice concept and interesting missions and character, but the moving is very difficult. At least there should be the same keys used to move, but with random indexes (like it would be on the joystick-direction variable). Other thing is how the guides are misleading; the potions are in wrong shapes (see picture below). This would be very fun play as in competitive mode with other players and everybody tries to be faster than the others. Running with chemistry bottles is not safe, but maybe fun. This game has the potentiality, but you should make the character movement more relevant (even it has the changing buttons; for an example, you could add the left&right in middle keyboard layer, and up & down buttons upper and lower keyboard layers; and make dashing when double-tap the button)
I get the "DirectX 11 error" when trying to run the game as well, but game started anyway. PotionMislead.png The potion is cylinder shaped, not a box; I was searching for an empty/or even filled box shaped potion.
Je vais aussi faire la review en français du coup ahah La 3d est prooooopre, c'est vraiment cool. Seul vraiment *léger* bemol sur l'aspect graphique c'est les quelques glitch au niveau des particules (par exemple le chaudron émettait les particules de base de Unreal en forme de croix chez moi c'etait weird ahah) et l'enveloppe de debut de niveau qui jure un peu avec le reste de la DA. Mais sinon ca marche trop bien! Et niveau gameplay ca se contrôlais bien, j'ai fait les 6 niveaux assez rapidement les salles étaient chouettes, l'introduction des pièges au fur et a mesure était cool, ca manquais ptet un peu d'explication sur le premier niveau par contre. Un peu repetitive mais avec seulement 6 niveaux c'était ok. La caméra était un poil lente par contre, souvent je me faisais endormir par un piège hors écran en voulant aller vite :sweat_smile: Félicitation!
@togimaro merci pour ton retour ! On a un peu rushé sur la fin et les particules sont un oubli.. oups. On avait prévu des features en plus pour varier l'expérience de jeu que l'on a malheureusement pas eu le temps d'ajouter, et il y a en effet quelques fix à faire, peut être dans une V2 :)

Hello ! Last night I worked on a batch of quick fixes based on your feedbacks. If you want to give it a new try @federico-giorgi, @elbowgeese, @pimeko, @landosystems (thus I hadn't the time to check the PS4 controller issue but the mouse and keyboard inputs are fixed !), @purpledartfrog (No clue for your directX error, some people justs restart the game and no more issue. Maybe something with your graphics card drivers ?), @agushmar, @hiisileiri and @zazz0000. Thanks all for that and for helping us to push our game in a really good way !
If you're still interested in, we plan to create a "director's cut" of our game after the jam, with all the ideas we hadn't the time to integrate !

Really nice art! The gameplay felt a bit too simplistic for me personally. Maybe more steps in creating the potions could have made it more interesting. Maybe some kind of color mixing mini game as the first step where you don't have to match it 100%. Then there could be also somethig with adjusting heat or physics pouring it actually in there. There is a lot of potential in the idea.
Fun game! I love the graphics that you made for this game. They, together with the audio, really set the tone. 9/10 great game!

Eh beh (^^). Travail monstrueux pour seulement 3 jours. Et même si vous avez du couper des fonctionnalités, ce que vous avez là est une bonne base avec très peu / pas de bug (enfin j'en ai pas vu). Même si en effet c'était un peu répétitif les 6 niveaux introduisent bien les éléments progressivement (^w^). Bien joué à vous ! ( Et chapeau bas pour les artistes :3 )

@fluffy-kaeloky could you tell me a little bit more about your issue? (have you tried to play with a controller? Which controller? Have you tried to play with your VR gear disconnected?...) That's strange cause we didn't implement any VR feature in it :/ I'll try to find a fix in the next 24h-32h!

@kraghan Not much to say besides that the game tries to intialize my HTC Cosmos. I haven't tried to unplug my VR headset mostly because I'm too lazy to move my tower, heh.
I've had this problem with a few other games from Unreal Engine in past Ludum dares. I can't say what fixed it since I don't use UE myself, but I've seen other people find the culprit and disable the VR feature completely when it wasn't needed.
Very cute game, but I couldn't figure out what to do in Level 2. There didn't seem to be any way to get potion colors other than Blue, Red, and Green - after I put the first potion in the cauldron, putting anything else in there caused an explosion. I didn't see anywhere else to mix potions.
Coooool. Like the art, the music, sounds, obstacles. Like train my memory. Maybe in next levels we will need to remember more ingredients? I would like to play more than 6 levels :)

Yeah maybe @lazyseal, we'd like to had some diversity on how to handle the bottle (go fast before it explode or go slow to avoid to shake it too much...) add some processing in the preparation (mixing some herbs for instance) and of course making hardest recipe :)
@artemy-zen and @justin-pando, have you noticed that there was different bottle shapes too? The color is not enough to have the potion right
@kraghan Yes, I've seen that there are different shapes and I went through the game completely. The game is very cool.
But the red bottle in the game looks pink and the yellow bottle looks green.

Les graphismes sont cool (s/o la soeur de Orianne et Laura), le concept est un peu classique mais bon ça fait le job. Dommage qu'il y a eu quelques bugs (on s'est retrouvé bloqué dans un mur) et niveau visiblité ça aurait été sympa de rendre les murs semi transparents quand il y a des objets derrière (on avait pas vu les potions coniques du premier coup dans le niveau 2).

Amazing artstyle, amazing game! Thank you for making the levels not too hard, as you easily could have, too. I liked the many obstacles introduced the most, I think, from them I think the purple slime in level 2 (or 3?) was my favourite!
This is a pretty unique concept within the game jam, and it was executed pretty well. I love the cartoonish style of the game, and the audio is pretty well done. Gameplay is well-done and I didn't run into any bugs in my own playthrough. I feel like the levels themselves contain a good difficulty curve and slowly introduces new obstacles to the player at a decent pace. The game itself feels nicely polished, actually, considering it's a game jam. Nice work, overall.

Ok, mais comment le facteur est-il arrivé jusque là?? Et comment notre scientifique fait pour ramener ses courses à la maison?? D'ailleurs, ces potes ont-ils la moindre chance de trouver la porte d'entrée??? Du coup, j'ai bloqué sur ces questions existentielles et j'ai obtenu un score de 1/3!!
Plus sérieusement, j'avoue m'être engagé à reculons en voyant que c'était un "jeu à potion" (j'en ai trop testé ces derniers jours) mais la partie "platformer" permet au jeu de se démarquer. Je pense que le GD mériterait d'être encore peaufiné (surtout la partie "création de potion") pour obtenir un challenge plus consistant. L'esthétique générale est soignée et votre direction artistique est chouette, je salue d'ailleurs la volonté de partir sur de la 3D, en 72h c'est costaud. En tout cas, joli travail!
@kristoph on est parti sur un jeu simple pour laisser libre court à la créativité artistique (et aussi parce que j'étais le seul programmeur donc fallait faire des choix X)) je serai curieux de savoir où tu as réussi à te coincer. On a encore quelques aspect UX à voir en effet !
@concker-88 alors on a bien rigolé avec ton message et en effet on a pas du tout fait attention à ça X) y a plein d'autre soucis d'habillage d'ailleurs ! Mais le rush (et au moins notre tactique de déstabilisation de joueur a marché mouahahah). On a plein d'idées pour augmenter les situations de Gameplay :)

The core of the game is there, but I feel like gameplay wise, it's missing something. I wish we could combine potions to make different colors, or perhaps have some effects on the world, such as puzzles.
Otherwise, the graphics are really nice and cute, and what's there works well.

@fluffy-kaeloky That was the base idea yeah! We planed originally to have different way of transporting potions (going fast or slow to avoid potions to explode) or adding some extra mixing step (mix a blue and a yellow to obtain a green one for example)
