I adventured!
It was charming, I didn't die but man I almost did a few times. I almost wrote a whole thing saying about how I couldn't move and it was bugged but then I realized my gamepad was plugged in so I played it on that (it worked fine by the way, no crashes or anything). I cleared the world, talked to Reg and the other guy (bert? burt? I forgot sorry!) and checked out the haunted house too!
Nice work on all of it, you captured the link to the past feel for sure.

That a nice little game! I didn't think that we were able to kill the giant monsters!! A had a bug, two times, when I hit more than 2 ennemies. The gameplay is really nice! Great job! That was nice to play with the controller :)
You might want to add the basic controls to your game page. I had to fish around of the interact button that let me open the tutorial sign ;)
Also, WOW, I have a hard time fighting all the baddies!
Hi, i could not figure out how to play. I clicked and pressed all the buttons on my keyboard but nothing happens. Maybe some incompability problem? Could you post some instructions about how to play? I think that would help.
Thanks!

Hey! Played a little bit, I like the style, however, I think some things are unclear: It took me a while to figure out where the interact button was, I know the first sign explains some of that, but if you don't know how to interact with said sign, you get confused. Overall pretty good, I dig the style!
E: I did crash when killing one of the monsters up north (Planet Dash I believe)

I was killed every time so I might have missed something like the ending or something but here's some things that came in mind:
• It's hard to hit enemies when they come toward you diagonally.
• The game doesn't have any help for the controls at first(?) That is at least what I experienced. I had to figure out what key could activate the signs and took some time.
• As you said: the game sometimes crashes when killed by enemy.
• I could walk over some sprites (such as tree leaves, maybe it was intentional?)
Aside of those things I can say that this game is pretty nicely done. If I hadn't died so many times I maybe could have written a little bit more detailed review. Anyways well done.

Most scariest sign ever! :p
The sound is really crucial for this kind of game. It's a shame you didn't had time (can you imagine a Zelda game without music?).
The world is interesting, I like the hero (what is it by the way?), and the dash has a really good feel. I would definitely look into your next games and see your progress in the game making universe.
That file size... makes me jealous of people who don't use unity.
lol the characters look cool, and you can shove things around, that's amusing.
notes: - It's pointless to tell the player to use the arrows to walk, on a sign he has to walk to, maybe put some hovering text next time? or just give the controlls in the text of the post. - The character can walk on the walls of the room - I can do without the game over screen, but if you die you have to close the game and start it again
I like the dash effect, nice work! Damn those grey monsters are hard XD the boots help so I think maybe you should have let the player find them first. I think I killed every monster and explored all the map, even the scary house lol
Can't wait for steam greenlight!
@bendev-games ooh that's a new one! Did you have an xbox controller plugged in by any chance? Maybe it's picking that (or some other random peripheral) up instead of the keyboard?
Thanks for trying anyway!
It's a good start though like you say it's a bit of a mess... You could continue work on it though :)
Did not respond to Keyboard or Controller input. Sorry!
It's cute! I like the way the dash looks and works. Note that with non-English keyboards, Z and X are very far away from each other...

Really this is a nice start of a game. I kept dying too quickly so it would have been nice to start out more gentler on the player. and an automatic restart would have been nice too, but for your second game, its pretty awesome!!!
