Dreamy! Beautiful aesthetic with the color palette and star character, hard to get the hang of at first and difficult overall (colliding with the obstacles can be a little frustrating) but I like difficult games. Lovely sound effects too, especially when you complete a level.

It's a juggling game! :D

peachtreeoath 2020-04-22 07:51

I was pretty impressed with the different levels you could squeeze out of that simple mechanic. The last 2 levels of the game really got me nodding and saying "oh yea, that's really clever". I could see where you were going with this, where you could have even more difficult trick shots while juggling different colored gems and not touching obstacles, but I'm glad you kept the jam game simple enough for people to finish and see the concepts. I didn't realize this game was a metaphor for life until I read the description just now, that's a pretty interesting twist though I didn't catch it in game. Overall I thought this game was really fun, I played it til the end after all. I thought it was challenging and gave me a chance to learn a few new mechanics I don't normally flex. Nice, creative entry!

I really love the style on this one! The thing that tripped me up was the controls, but cute little game altogether.

kazuo256 2020-04-25 02:58

A very challenging, charming, and amazing game! I couldn't finish and have to agree that the collision with obstacles was too sensitive (maybe also because of the accelered movement). Despite that, I take my hat off to you for the simple yet powerful puzzle mechanics, both in gameplay and metaphorical narrative =D

kris-casimir 2020-04-25 02:58

I love the music and the cute feeling of the game. I wish I had more chances before death, though, and starting over just began to feel defeating. Lovely graphics and design and approachable controls. Cheers!

somniac 2020-04-25 03:02

Great music and art, and fun to play. I found the barriers unexpectedly unforgiving but maybe I'm just bad.

instanti8 2020-04-25 03:09

The music is great, and it is super cute. I especially love the cute sound effects when you throw the balloon. I got past several levels but it started getting a little bit too hard at the end.

I really think your work is great. It seems you have been participating in this event for a quite long time. I liked the sfx (it was kind a cute). Nicely planned puzzle with simple mechanism. I am looking forward to see your future works from now. Good Job.

jasonsumm1 2020-04-28 12:40

Cute graphics, nice little game. The obstacles were quite unforgiving, I think with some tuning of your player friction and bounding box they could be improved :)

texz 2020-04-28 12:40

Nice idea, nice ambiant, that's a nice little game ! :) i liked it

palsina 2020-04-28 12:59

This is very cute and well designed! It kept me entertained quite a bit and I though it was quite an ingenius design.

huvaakoodia 2020-04-28 14:23

Chill mood, chill one ball juggling. It is not very difficult in real life, but this star fellow seems to struggle with it.

Very little constructive comes to mind. It just works. Ah... I could nitpick about the obstacle being in the same color as the ground. It really looks like platform to jump on top of, but it turned out to be deadly.

It is also strange that the star creature has to keep throwing the ball and cannot simply hold it for more than a second or so. Maybe the star shaking under the weight of the ball could serve as an explanation for someone *like me* who cares about these sort of things.

Solid work!

papaver 2020-04-28 14:40

@huvaakoodia Thanks for playing and for your comment! The star *does* shake under the ball, but maybe that should start sooner, and could be clearer.

papaver 2020-04-28 14:45

@peachtreeoath Thanks for your comment! The levels were squeezed out quite late (I just fooled around with juggling the ball for 2,5 days), so I am happy that you liked them. The metaphor is indeed not that strong, but I had the feeling I had to write something. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

papaver 2020-04-28 15:09

@dining-philosopher @kazuo256 @somniac @jasonsumm1: Thanks for your comments! I agree that the collision with the obstacles is quite unforgiving. Perhaps I can slow down the player and play a bit more with the camera to make it easier to see the obstacles ahead.

@kris-casimir: Thanks! Hmm yes, maybe touching an obstacle could shrink the ball, in stead of a instant death.

huvaakoodia 2020-04-29 14:55

Oh yeah, it does do a little dance under duress! I must have confused that for a walking animation or something.

Clearer is certainly the way to go as everything is pretty small at the moment. There's a lot of empty space.

pocarinnu 2020-05-06 10:47

Played through the whole game, loved it! very cute graphic and nice level design!! Overall a very nice game. Somehow I couldn't hear the audio but could be my computer's issue.

papaver 2020-05-07 14:50

@pocarinnu: Thanks for playing and your nice comment! With M you can mute the audio, maybe you pressed it while figuring out the game mechanics. The game doesn't give visual feedback (yet) on whether the audio is muted, I'll add that to my to do list.

firesplash-entertainment 2020-05-07 18:39

Thanks for submitting the game to our stream! I relly like teh artstyle! Well but I've been to dumb

Full review in our VOD :)

fabula-rasa 2020-05-07 20:42

I enjoyed playing it! The art was pleasant, if simple and the color scheme was nice. And I really liked the animations on the star character.

Gameplay is very fun. Didn't really have trouble till the last level. At first, I thought it was diabolical! But once I figured I can actually control how far into the air I throw the ball, it was fine. It was fun to figure it out :). Overall, a fun and satisfying experience

dziek 2020-05-07 21:22

Oh wow, I really like this one! What a great idea! I was enjoying it enough, but once you had to start juggling the blue items as well it really clicked for me. And the art! Brilliant stuff.

I will say it was a bit too tricky for me. Would have enjoyed it much more if you didn't fail on contact with the squares. But still, really enjoyed this - hope you keep at it!

uvwar 2020-05-07 21:29

Controls took me a bit to get used to (I think maybe I was little too fast? Or maybe the ground was too hard for me to see when I would run into it), but lovely graphics and amazing sound design and music!

anagf 2020-05-07 21:29

I had a nice time with it. There were a lot of levels, which is quite impressive! The mechanic is original, simple and interesting at the same time. The graphics and music were cute. Well done :)

waylon531 2020-05-07 21:52

Wow, this one is good. The puzzles were fun, especially the last couple of levels. The only thing I had trouble with was the obstacles, I died a lot because of some mistimed jumps. Great concept though and the game is just about the perfect length for a game jam game, I had a lot of fun with this one

gameovermexico 2020-05-07 21:54

It is very good, I managed to reach level 4, Nice Job!!

testlab 2020-05-08 06:41

Nice art style! Was fun to play, except for the player "dying" when colliding with obstacles. Congrats on the game!

naca 2020-05-09 15:35

Lovely graphics and music, I had a great time with this one. But the controls feel a bit clumsy, can't tell exactly why. Maybe they're too sensitive? Anyway, great game overall!

junber 2020-05-09 21:00

This was far harder than I expected from a game with art this cute. That cute art looks really good btw and the music and sounds fit really well with it. The difficulty could get a bit frustration though, with the rather indirect ways you had to control the arc that the ball and keys would take through the air. Still had fun with this though. Great job!
