Good concept. The implementation tho, the subtitles made it way too easy. But without the subtitles I couldn't even decipher what the alien said but I guess that's the point of the game haha. xD

tenthousandfireants 2026-04-20 19:45

Great simple idea, the subtitles color coding made it easier, so the in game feedback was understandable for me, i'd be curious how this could go exploring it further in it's development good job!

@jan-sate @tenthousandfireants Thanks for playing! Before the Jam deadline my game had a debuging tool enabled which highlighted the colors for me, that might have been the reason it was so easy  I've since disabled it, but I decided to include it as an optional "baby mode" by pressing the green button.

Cool game! It's a simple idea, but executed perfectly. The alien doing dab is hilarious, I love it. Great job!

The mechanic is so simple but so deep.

pegasys 2026-04-22 13:54

What an awesome take on the them. I really like the text to speech for the goofy lil guy! I wish it showed more of a replay afterwards that showed you your successful and missed censors, It's quite hard to actually watch the result of your decisions as you are having to constantly scan across the bottom of the screen to read the next words. I liked how there was a few different options for the censor types that you had to try and keep track of. Really good job guys!

A unique take on the theme. I liked the alien. Played it on easy mode to see if it just keeps adding rules and seems like it.

braktheman 2026-04-23 02:30

Good concept for a game and funny to boot! Had a lot of fun playing this one and could see it iterated into something even wilder.

Eventually I ran in to a few issues being that sometimes rulesets would overlap with each other leaving me unsure what took precedent and once enough rules got added the subtitles covered the last rule making it near impossible to read anymore. Small issues in what I thought was a very enjoyable game.

Keep up the great work! Make more stuff like this - love experimental games!

Thanks for playing!

@karenchik Glad you enjoyed it! I definitely had some fun making the animations.

@jiamu-zhao That's exactly what we were going for!

@pegasys Initially we thought of delaying the TV feed, but it just wasn't working. Would have liked to add more effects and sounds for correct/incorrect answers, just ran out of time.

@dk5000p Easy mode highlights each word in the correct color, that's the only change. Each episode still adds difficulty by adding rules and increasing the chance of longer words

@braktheman The goal was a chaotic multitasking simulator, even more wild than we had time for. E.g. Ad slots, broadcast issues, audio glitches, mundane corporate tasks, etc., all at once. If multiple rules apply to a word, take the more serious action (cut the feeds > pixelate > bleep), we could have made that more clear. Would definitely like to improve the rules page, it was kind of thrown together last minute.

papaver 2026-04-23 12:09

Haha, that was a funny game!

At some point not only my brain was full with the rules, but also the cheat sheet. Also, the subtitles were covering it. I think it would have been nice to put the subtitles between the screen and the cheat sheet + controls at the bottom, with more space for the rules. ;)

I replayed it, and noticed that the rules were different this time, nice! I also enjoyed all the gestures, especially the dab

With the green button, I would have enjoyed if it gave me a little bit more time to think for myself if I should press a button. :)

Cool sound track

Super fun game and concept! I think you nailed the sound design and music, they fit the game perfectly. If I had a suggestion, I'll add a 2 second latency between the real performance and the broadcasted one so that you actually cut/pixelate/blip at the right moments. Cause right now it feels like it's already too late when I censor some gesture or word, and it feels less meaningful.

djtequila 2026-04-24 15:02

@rend Thanks! I'm happy with how the music turned out. Wanted to have a delayed broadcast, but just couldn't get it working during the jam

2026-04-24 23:49

Amusing idea! It's something different from the rest I've played. Functional and easy to get the hang of.

accelerate0814 2026-04-25 14:02

Really fun concept! I do have a funny confession though: it took me two tries to figure out I needed to watch the subtitles instead of the alien. I spent my first run just waiting for him to open his mouth to hit the button! By the way, I think I found a minor bug. The game seems to read mouse scroll wheel inputs. I accidentally scrolled it during gameplay and it caused me to lose points. Hope this feedback helps with future updates!微信图片_20260426000102.png

@accelerate0814 Thanks for playing! Seems you broke our game quite a bit  I found the source of the bugs and will hopefully be releasing a post-ludum dare version of the game this weekend

kr0tyara 2026-04-26 13:14

Guys, I think we need to cancel Khago Balekte... He's an alien racist.

Jokes aside, a really fun game with an interesting idea! Had a small issue: sometimes rules contradicted each other, for example: there could be rules about pixelating and cutting off the broadcast for the same gesture, and if you follow the latter, it's considered wrong.

If you plan to expand on this, I have some ideas: what if 'baby mode' was on by default, but as the game progresses, it would start returning false positives sometimes? If you are not attentive enough, you lose money. Or sometimes subtitles could go off and you have to only rely on your eyes and ears. Or the censoring panel breaks and you have to do something creative to censor the broadcast, like say something out loud or throw a blanket on Khago. There's a lot of potential!

oh this might be a favourite for me. incredible concept an well executed. partly feels like something i would make too i think? love it

digital-bacon 2026-04-27 06:08

Interesting concept! Good graphics and really good sounds.

Excellent work -- well done!

matthewlevy 2026-05-04 19:14

I thoroughly enjoyed making this game with you, brother. Thanks for the laughs. Excellent idea, great core mechanic. Hilarious premise. 10/10

kyle-farwell 2026-05-06 03:04

A masterpiece. Love the alien and the voicing. I missed the instructions and accidentally played on easy baby mode first, but had more fun on my second go without it. :alien:
