Good game,I like the idea of a 2D Platformer where the walls come closer. Good Implementation of the theme.

@mrsylar59 the file should be fixed just download the .zip file go into it click on collpaseTest.exe and extract all. This should work. :).

Thank you for fixing the download. This game is really hard, took me multiple attempts to make progress. The fact that there is not a big marging for mistakes and the floating physic tend to make the game frustrating at times. I would have liked more sound effects when dealing damages to enemies. The graphics make for a very unique looking game which has some charm in the whole aestetic of the game. In my opinion it's a solid effort on your end. Good job!
Nice little game, with a proper implementation of the theme ! While the idea and level design were good, I had some issues with the controls (spacebar does not always make you jump, huge lateral acceleration, collision with the platforms) that made it quite difficult for me to clim the whole thing. Some advice for your graphics : I actually tend to do things the same way, with big pixels and all ; but using a palette like those given by websites like paletton and coolors would help you improve your visuals without having to become a spriting genius. All in all, nice work !
@jlv thank you for your feedback man really appreatie it. I do agree that I need to work on the controls of the game and I am looking into how to properly program a 2D character control. Probably should have done it before the jam. :) And thank you for your advice on the art I will look into it.
The game seems to crash when clicking the Start button in the menu. I haven't investigated why, but I think it may have to do with selecting other menu options before you select Start. Look into it.
You have decided to move the character using forces and you have not limited the maximumVelocity in any way, so the game is very difficult to play. Not so much because you MADE a hard game by design, but rather because the character slides all over the place and very fast as well. I was not able to complete the first level.
I managed to make it to level 3 in your game! It took 2 people playing- one to shoot and another to jump.
We did find a bug, you can spam jump to increase your jump height significantly. It does seem to cause a ton of framerate loss...

@trozen that level of difficulty is not a bug it is a feature (wink). Man I which that was the theme this jam. By the way thank you for informing about the bug I will take a look into, and thank you for playing my game.
I was very disappointed by your game. I thought the graphics and the soundtracks made up a pretty neat atmosphere. And then I found that the platformer was almost unplayable, and I'll give you some of the main issues, hoping that you do better next time:
-Jump button only works on time out of ten. It's not even a cooldown, it just won't jump. very frustrating
-Collision are very unclear of the platforms. I love the scrappy pixel art look, but please you should the platforms nature understandable on glance. And the friction on the side of the platform is really not a thing.
-The field of view is too small
-I had a bug where my hp would just not go under 0
