Your game had a great atmosphere, I don't think you needed to opt out of mood.

@thorneto Thank you! That was close to being a disaster. I didn't mean to opt out of mood. For some reason (probably a sleep-related one) I got it all backwards about what it meant to mark something as opt-out. I've changed it now.
Loved playing this! Even though the point is to hunt riches, honestly I just enjoyed exploring all the different highs and lows of the map. Very nice graphics and gameplay. Wonderful job!
Awesome game. I could see an expanded version of this game being sold for a few bucks on Steam or something. Had a simple concept that could develop into devilishly difficult levels. Good Work!
Nice game. Exploring the world was the best part. Shop menu was also cool, but didn't understand whether the different gems affected gameplay. Jumps felt a bit too fast, maybe too much air control?
I really enjoyed the smooth music and sound effects :) !! A nice creation, I enjoyed the little puff of dust that appears when you hit the ground :) ! Cheers !
It took me way longer than it should have to realize that you can't jump as high when holding those jewels. Agreed with the other commenter that the atmosphere is really nice, especially for the simplicity of the art style. The music fits very well. The 'weighing down' mechanic is good fit for the theme too. The only complaint I can really come up with is that it would have been nice to get a little forgiveness in jumps near the edge of a platform. Made it all the way to the end and I really enjoyed it, great work!
I played through to the end, so I must have enjoyed it! This is a great little platform and discovering the secrets about the world and the story as it opened up really kept my interest. I encountered a tearing bug (?) when jumping out towards the cave exit. I tried again multiple times and encountered the same tearing artifact. (Played on Chrome).
I wish the jumping was a bit easier, but that might just be me being used to hitting the Space bar to jump. Loved the story, loved the changing world, and loved the music.
Solid mechanic and followed the theme well. Couldn't dedicate enough time to exploring the entire game, but it has a lot of potential.
Looking at the pictures, the first thing I thought was "Oh yeah, give me this game!". Definitely the most incredible game the Ludum for me. The camera was a bit jumpy, but that didn't detract from the game one bit. The mood and the art were so perfect. The way the theme was the main mechanic of the puzzle was great. I love puzzle-adventure games. The end was so perfect. I absolutely loved it!
@amy-ballinger Thanks for the feedback. Not sure why the tearing bug appears. Doesn't seem to appear for me. Still, thanks for the bug report.
Very relaxing game with nice graphics and a large connected map. Had a lot of fun trying to hunt down all the gold which was good.
Exploring was nice and enjoyable! Something felt off with the controls(keyboard) though, maybe it's just me... Great game otherwise!
Wow I really enjoyed this game!
The whole ending sequence was really cool.
The camera movement when you turn around was a little abrupt, I would have liked a box to move around in before the camera starts moving. There is an amazing hour long GDC talk about this if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdvCO97jOQk
I think I may have broke the sequence a little bit. I figured out that you can just take out your money in the shop after you have upgraded one all the way, so you only need like 20 coins to beat the whole game. I almost didn't even notice that you can break down the trees and stuff after they transform from the gems. I was able to get to the end without destroying any houses.
I like the art and sound, the game feel is pretty good except for the camera issue. Also, does the fancy door at the top do anything?
@niborious Thanks for the clip! I wasn't content with the camera myself but I didn't see a way around it. Having a box is genius! Should have thought about it.
Actually, you didn't break the game. I don't think there are enough coins to buy everything if you don't do it the way you did it.
And yes, the fancy door has a purpose. It is an alternative ending. It has to do with being a bit more charitable or non-destructive, so to speak. ;)
This game is my fav til now!

Oh my god, I'm so sorry. The comment was acting like it wasn't posting but obviously it was. How do I delete comments? At the moment all I can figure out to do is delete the text so they aren't so big!
Fun and cute game! The music is great, the graphics are cute, and the gameplay fits the theme nicely and is fun enough to replay (which I did several times- I was trying to figure out if I could get the fancy door at the top of the map to do anything. Nothing I tried at least worked). The controls are easy to use and the little tutorial signs were very helpful. Definitely one of my favorite games I've played for LD- well-made overall.
As a side-note, I found a minor bug. Definitely not game breaking though. I was standing too close to the wall when I broke a gem and I'm not sure which way I was facing, but they landed where I couldn't pick them up. Phrygian Fantasy.PNG

@samkee00 Thanks for your input! Yeah, I noticed that bug after I published the game, though in my case it was far enough out of the wall to pick up.
And thanks for all the bonus comments. ;D I was quite confused for a while before I found your clarifying comment. I don't know how comments can be removed. I would guess that it currently isn't possible. That's too bad, but not much to do about it.
@samkee00 I am curious. What did you try in order to get to the door at the top?
And a tip for getting through it is to maybe not do very much, or to undo some things.
Excellent little game. I think the mood was on point, seeing the game change based on my actions was effective in invoking emotion. Overall, one of my favorite plays from this jam.
Overall the game was good, but there was a minor bug of a coin going inside the ground. The camera snapping could also have been smoother. It was fun to play. Good work!
Nice take on the theme. The idea is really cool and it works really well on the platformer ! The music is well choosen too. The main problem is the camera, but I think you already now this ;) Good job !
HAha nice ! I have been killed so I wonder if there is another ending... But anyways, I destroyed a house to get money, I deserved it. Cool game that brings more than meets the eye in the first place !
@tabass Yes, there is another ending. And it requires a quite different approach. :)
Pretty sure I found the second ending!
Neat premise. I ran into the same bug where the coins spawned in the ground.
Wow that was a nice journey =O Really loved the mood and the gameplay, you nailed the theme and the music was great. With nicer art and more polish it would be one of the best game of the jam !
Great game! It looked great and played well. The music was also great. Found that you didn't need to look very long before you could just redistribute all of your coins to just get everything in one go. While it was really well made, it also wasn't amazingly fun to play. Great concept though!
Really enjoyable game, well executed too :)
ok... didn't understand the whole how to spend your stuff at the store... so I focused on leveling up one of the things all the way and then had people shooting arrows at me.. ??? and ouchie?
Other than the annoyance of the controls (My tendency to press Space vs. W to jump), I only found one game breaking bug. Once you've spent your gems for one type of unlockable, I can just extract those gems out and use them for the other unlockables. This meant that by the end of the game when Revolution came about, I had only collected 22 total gems and I had unlocked everything.
Otherwise, I had a blast. It was really fun, and the ending was quite funny.
