Nice mechanic. Deeper and deeper in the castle. I saw somethink before but I dont know. Maybe you make Esc for Exit.

testudor 2021-04-27 14:21

Pretty cool mechanic!

maxwell3000 2021-04-27 16:51

A lot of fun platforming on the buildings and seeing what little hole you can slip through. Good idea!

zeusonator 2021-04-27 17:07

Really cool idea, but the movement feels a bit slippery and I managed to bug myself under the map.

ahspike 2021-04-27 17:10

Very cool game mechanic. Pretty cool art style as well. Good job.

andori-paic 2021-04-27 17:12

I love this kind of exploration mechanics, good idea and well executed. GG !

superpokeunicorn 2021-04-27 17:41

Really like the main mechanic; it adds an extra dimension to exploration. In particular, I enjoyed the sections where you had to both shrink and grow to get around certain obstacles, especially the more open ended section at the end with the large house to explore. Also, the repeating structure of the game was cool and added to the eerie atmosphere. I did wind up getting stuck in the end; there was a keyhole I had to shrink to get through with a ramp leading up to it, but the game wouldn't let me shrink anymore. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time with this game. Nice work!

@rick2112 Yea, I didn't get around making anything for exit but you can use Alt+F4 and also make it windowed with Alt+Enter

@maxwell3000 Thanks, fun fact, a lot of these holes came to be by accident and I just went with it.

@zeusonator Thx, onsider yourself lucky, there are a lot more exciting bugs to find. I have to do something about that.

@ahspike Thanks!

@andori-paic Thank you! Its my first exploration type game, it lends to some interesting design work.

@superpokeunicorn Thanks, I wish I had more time to explore more obstacles challenges with the mechanic. Yea, that keyhole is one of the more frustrating bugs. I had some technical issues with the scaling at the end and that limit got messed up there.

mamon 2021-04-27 21:56

Like the elements of platformer, really cool! I guess moving platform would add more needed complexity. Some background music would also work =P other than that - reaaly cool game!

nyanpierre 2021-04-28 21:29

The gameplay is really cool ! My brain explode but i loved it !

metalfox-dioxymore 2021-04-28 23:01

First of all, why does SteamVR activates when I launch the game ? It's not a VR game x) !

I loved the concept ! This is a really cool exploration game with a gigantic (=p) twist. Unfortunaly, I softlocked myself during all my attempts by clipping under the floor, so I gave up and didn't finished it ^^'.

Just some little things : the huge lag that happens when you change your size makes the controls a bit hard, and the sounds were a bit too long, so they often overlapped.

I would love to see that concept expanded to a full and more complex game !

Wow, this was certainly a trip! It was a lot of fun just playing around, trying to slip through various cracks and holes, seeing how deep things get. And there's a lot of depth to explore! At one point, I decided to shrink down and explore in one of the cracks in the floor tile to crawl underneath a wall. And I ended up in some kinda empty chamber? Probably something beneath one of the buildings. And when I went through a keyhole to end up in a room between two doors with no easy way up to the keyholes, I felt the dread sink in... and then glitched through a wall to freedom, I think?

It was a really strange and wonderful experience, on the whole! I loved it! Also, how many golden teeth are there total? I found 81 before stopping.

romana-kapustova 2021-04-29 15:27

I got stuck in a small room with nothing else but two keyholes and I can't really figure out how to escape (I can get on the handle, but the hole is bellow it). stuck.png

Otherwise I collected 60 teeth and would continue if I didn't get stuck :) The map seemed infinite, good job on that :) There was always more to explore, it was fun.

I experienced some movement troubles (sometimes it felt like I got stuck in the floor and needed to jump to be able to go in every direction again), but the big map made up for that.

Really nice game and it fits well with the theme :) It was a great idea.

davision 2021-04-29 18:33

I forgot to mention pressing R lets you reset to the start position. You have to traverse through the rooms again but you get to keep your teeths. Keeping your teeths is always good in my book.

@mamon Yea, movement platforms could be cool, especially when the kick off bigger sizes

@nyanpierre Thx!

@metalfox-dioxymore That SteamVR thing is just what UE4 does on default and I keep forgetting to turn it off. Don't worry about not finishing it since there is no end and I don't think anyone will actually find all my teeth. Yea, that lag is annoying, its because I had to workaround all the floating point problems but I might still have an idea that could improve it a lot.

@logan Yea, the shrinking is pretty extreme, I need to somehow make a info graphic of that. I'm glad there is also a case where a bug played out in a positive way! 82 teeth found is a lot! I placed 132 in total but I don't expect anyone to actually get all. As you said a lot of tiny holes, that let me hide them. There are also cavities between the walls that happened more by accident.

@romana-kapustova Oh no! You can reset to the start position with pressing R. I forgot to mention that. The movement glitch seems to be introduced only in the new version where I fixed some issues. Fix some bugs and get whole new curious bugs I guess. It might be related to floating point precision and friction. Maybe I get it fixed in another version. The map is not quite infinite but I would like that.

This is how I felt as I just kept getting smaller and smaller, but there was always something new to find. Also ham - I am ham. I shall dream of ham tonight...

Great work on the surreal experience!

verygenuinecraze 2021-05-03 15:53

I love the gameplay. The concept is so cool (it must have been a nigthmare to build). The sound is a bit harsh (maybe add softer sound for growing and shrinking because we use them a lot).

Good job

Meanwhile in *Sized Bite* :

Whew that messed with my mind lol. Not the most aesthetically pleasing game out there, but dang, that was a lot of content for a jam game. Really good reuse of assets there. The SFX were a bit wonky and repetitive, but it kinda worked for the type of game it was.

Not sure how many collectibles there were. I got 97 and I know there were at least one or two more I gave up on simply due to time.

Nice job!
