Husband Wife Team. With two kids, 23MO and 3MO. Somehow we got this published by the end. I don't know how. It could certainly use improvements, but under the circumstances, I'm really impressed we got anything out.
Good Concept of combining Shooting game and spelling game. The problem is that the character that you want is too long to show up. It took me 2 min to show "O" I think you dont need to use the System.Random of Unity on your correct character answer. But for overall its not too bad. I love the concept.

The game is playable, good try!
For the gameplay having a second attack for destroying unneeded letters would make it more fun, because there would be less waiting for another letter to disappear.
As for the graphics, sometimes making it more clean looking (circle instead of sphere) and using an existing color-scheme (tons of sites that have them), can make it more aesthetically pleasing and sometimes even involve less effort.
Kudos to the whole family for making a game! Maybe I'll try that when I have a family of my own...
I like that the concept is very easy to grasp, even for people who don't play games. It's neat that for the answers you don't know, you can figure it out by trial-and-error. But I feel like the pacing is much too slow for that - maybe more letters could spawn, and when you choose the wrong one, instead of losing a letter, you aren't allowed to shoot for 5 seconds. Anyways I know you're not looking for intense criticism, but nice job.
Congratulations on finishing the game! I hope you had fun during the weekend
how many bones in the human body? keep trying 24, 25, 26, 27, 28. Feel like extremely stupid to think human bones is in the 2 digit number.
@ekkoekko I agree. Its subtle, but we did. It starts by randomizing the order of 37 characters(26 letters, 10 numbers, * which was for a special case that wasn't built). Then it takes a look at the possible answers for the current question. If the next letter in the queue isn't in the answers, then it pulls it from the list and adds it to the end.
At present, each non-answer letter has a 10% chance to show up, while answer letters always do. I agree though, especially for double letters, it can take too long to wait. perhaps a 1% chance will work better. I'll have to try that.
@royur - 2##
@egon That's a great idea. Perhaps I could have 2 kinds of shots. 1 shot is for blowing things up that won't count, while the others do. Also, some kind of explosion. We start adding an explosion effect, but it was all we could do, just to get it published during the last hour.
The better approach on that is you need to make separated random for the answer character and other or wrong characters and set the answer character to call random numbers for spawning correct character. So that the user cant predict the next correct letter will show
@patrickgh3 - Thanks for the feed back. some other comments gave me ideas of how to make the time more fun to pass. Thanks.
@EkkoEkko I don't think the user can predict it now. The order keeps changing, and you could have 0 useless characters before a usable one, or 15.
Nice genre combo!
If you'll decide to continue with this game after the LD ends I would add some attacking ability to the falling letters (say, damage on collision). So it would become much more challenging finding and shooting the letters you need.
Also adding any type of sounds/soundtrack is a must.
Anyway, congrats on having playable product!
Interesting game. The letters seem to appear randomly, though. Maybe the next correct letter could have a greater spawn chance? I found myself waiting around for the correct letter a lot.
Well interesting this game, pity that for me some questions were complicated to answer. Congratulations for the game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.
