This was a great experience. Sound design was beautiful, platforming felt tight and precice but didn't distract from the story. The storytelling and gameplay meshed very well. The game was so much bigger than I expected. Very ambitious for a compo game but you pulled it off! Well done!
Very nice atmosphere, but too long waiting for the jumps to recharge all the time. (only managed to get doublejump, the 3rd seemed out of reach...) Great gfx and sound design!
I loved the aesthetics of this game! The color palette is lovely, and the sound really sets the mood.
I tried to reach the third power-up, but I think I'm just really bad at playing this kind of game, haha! I'll try again later with a fresh mindset because I really want to reach the end.
As for feedback, I think the time between jumps could be a little shorter. Sometimes, when you have to move long distances, it can be a bit tedious. However, the music and overall mood do help make the movement more enjoyable.
I really liked the mechanic of allowing multiple jumps. Overall, great work! :D
I had to replay to see if there was a secret where I was expecting one and it made me so happy I had to change the overall score from a 4.5 to a 5!
Visually stunning and very clever, but it is a bit tedious to actually play. That said I did play it all the way through (even restarting after getting stuck in the bench), so it must have been compelling enough! Well done
@Snotax, @tompudding, @teadrinker, @belea Thank you very much! Yeah, one of the bigger things I'd change would be the pacing, i.e. faster recharge and movement.
@linus-lindberg Thank you! And very nice! Was hoping some people would find it!
Pretty amazing entry, certainly didn't expect it to go where it went. I also don't think the ending feels rushed, the lengths was exactly right. The mechanic works very well and offered a lot of surprises, which is good! Well done!
Goodness me! Wow, I was not expecting such a beautifully told story from a COMPO about 'delivery'. I get that you delivery joy onto others, but I don't really see how grief counseling fits in with the theme... But that plus the fact the platform can be akin to a rage game at some parts are my only complaints; everything else is phenomenal. One of the best projects I've seen so far. Exceptionally great work!
Remarkable what you can do with two buttons, a yellow light, and a variety of shapes. Remarkable what stories you can tell. Every individual obstacle felt carefully planned and particularly placed. A masterclass in making the player wait a few seconds to really appreciate what they have.
this kind of felt like that hammer game where you swing yourself around things. i lost my joy around the phone poll with the 4 joy things in the cube. :D
@fabian-denter @glove @real-human-1000 Thank you all so much!
Also @glove I agree. The bit with grief didn't really go as planned, but I ran out of time and quickly put something together, poor time management from my part X) Same goes for a couple of relatively frustrating challenges unfortunately, but I absolutely learned from those mistakes. Thanks!
@jcmonkey Like "Getting over it"? I was thinking about taking the same mechanic, tweaking it a bit, dropping the theme and making it even more like a "Getting over it" type of game.
I'm very sorry the phone pole took your joy, not my intention! X)
Neat. A good game with a clean aesthetic and a clever atmosphere - good vibes. I really like the main gameplay, but after a while it becomes really frustrating. I am trying to understand where we can say that your game fits with the theme. Overall a fun project ++
I love the visual and audio vibes. There are a couple points (especially the tree platforms towards the beginning) where it feels a bit random whether or not you stick the landing or fall off the other side. The wait for every recharge starts to feel a bit tedious towards the end, it might feel more fluid with a shorter / instant recharge. But otherwise, I thought the platforming was super tight and inventive, and I really enjoyed the concept!
Wow, totally unexpected! My favorite entry of the whole jam. You manage to give a message through gameplay while innovating in movement controls, that's awesome. The level design was also very good, kept me hooked to the end. The sound and feedback fits really well too. Great job!
Beautiful idea and beautifully executed. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the tree after getting my third boost. Easily my favorite game so far as well.
well i didn't expect a rage game when i started but here i am haha i think i've played too much but i'm stuck at the street lamp unfortunately as other people said, the time between jumps is too long (frustration is ok for this kind of game, but too much frustration kills it). low poly art of the landscape was cool also
Wonderful game! I really enjoyed the visuals and the sound design. I got a bit lost at the starts but going back and forth helped me out. I really liked how you could collect the different parts of the jump, a very beautiful game.
This was a stunning game. Thank you for bringing it into the world.
In terms of graphics, the particles at the center of the player character were a simple but beautiful effect that I adored. The nature art had a cozy low-poly style that I also loved. The inside of the hospital was a bit bland, but the story was the really captivating part of the game. You did a great job with it .
The balancing was really well done, in my opinion. My game was too easy, and others were too hard, but this one posed a good amount of challenge without becoming frustratingly difficult, and I thoroughly enjoyed mastering the platformer mechanics to get to the end.
The audio was nice. Nothing extraordinary, but it meshed well with the mood.
One thing I would caution about is that delivering joy to the woman near the entrance to the hospital makes you lose some of your jumping power, which I felt like quite a loss. You don't want players to resent giving joy. Perhaps it could be balanced differently, the story could make it more appealing to do so, or another mechanic could be found.
Additionally, if I may make a suggestion, you might want to opt out of the humor category for ratings. That's not really what this game is meant for, after all.
Amazing job!
