LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Beware The Balrog by hadesfury 2014-05-03T15:27:00

This is a really great idea, I can't wait to see more post-compo work on it! A single-player mode would be pretty cool too, or just add multiplayer bots.

Project Tethys by vilya 2014-05-09T18:42:00

This is great! Some changes to the sub would be nice, like decelerate instead of stopping on a dime and shoot to the direction the mouse is pointing. Really fast paced and engaging. I didn't have any motivation to leave from above my base though, so maybe give the player 3 separate bases and have to defend each of them? Great job on this!

Like a Bird in the Sea by Volute 2014-04-28T21:17:00

Really great job, I really like the style. I used Phaser as well!

Switcher by ehtd 2014-05-01T16:56:00

I really like the art, and the gameplay is a great idea. It did seem like the girl's sprint was under-powered.

Rocket Mole by Zathnic 2014-04-29T15:42:00

Overall I think it's a great concept, just change the texture for deadly polygons and add the coins back in! Maybe a charge-up ability to make quicker turns?

Beyond The Dark by Avichal 2014-04-29T18:58:00

Great job! Definitely make the flashlight a bit wider, you don't want all that great art to go unnoticed!

Get The Bone by kasarun 2014-04-28T21:23:00

This is great, I especially like the Tweet functionality!

The Only Way is Down by tompudding 2014-05-09T18:27:00

Haha, I love surfing the zombies, although that should probably be fixed. Great job with sound and graphics, I really like the style! It also bugs out like crazy when I move the window (incorrect game time == player falling though walls).

Volleyball Moles by pjchardt 2014-05-06T17:27:00

Please implement keyboard input!

Dolphin Dash by Zccc 2014-04-29T19:02:00

I like the idea, although I'm on the fence about the air gliding part, I feel like it might be better as faster dropping all the time. (So you can get deeper underwater).

Tsunami Cruiser by bvanschooten 2014-04-29T15:14:00

This is a great concept, really well executed. Two features that would be nice to see, separate weapons into guns (air only) and torpedos (water-to-water or water-to-air), and give the player the ability to drop underwater a small amount (to dodge mines and execute underwater to air torpedo attacks!

Flip by yetanother 2014-04-28T21:41:00

Great idea, but I agree with everyone else, restarting the entire game each time is annoying!

Anthill by gre 2014-05-05T21:41:00

Really takes me back to the days of SimAnt! Great work! More specializations and optimized task setting would make this truly spectacular!

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-05-05T16:14:00

I really like the worm physics, although making the background dirt and changing the ambient sound to chill music would really step it up. Maybe have music generated based on your playing?

AliPan Space Miner by Hayawi 2014-04-29T15:47:00

Instadeath... NO!

The goldminor by mat1er 2014-04-29T14:54:00

Just as @schnüt said, I'm not a huge fan of the red bar either, but maybe using it as a power bar would be better? So instead of break or not, have it break 0-2 blocks, but make sure there are areas that require a fine touch.

Drill Fish by meszka 2014-05-09T18:33:00

This is awesome! I would like the drill to last a little bit longer, but I love the game mechanic of drilling and I love the technique of flying through the air and onto the beach. Very "sharknado"-like!

Surface Defence by Aske 2014-05-05T13:41:00

Really great game! I think it was too easy (1 fishing, 2 turrets then observatories ASAP), but it's a great base to start from. More islands, shorter ranged turrets, and more tower types would make this a game worth paying for.

Pressure by Nezzhil 2014-04-29T15:07:00

Very nice, although it was hard to determine a good balance, I just felt like I was spamming repair and go faster, but I have no idea if that helped me finish faster!

Under The Earth by DRAGONMASTER412 2014-04-28T13:18:00

Couldn't run web, but downloaded version was great!

Drill! Baby! Drill! by sirerr 2014-05-09T17:59:00

This is awesome! Although the sound was a little too much sometimes. Would you be able to publish a web version?

Sewer Rat Racer by Robber 2014-05-01T16:53:00

Very cool! The course needs a few more queues on where to go next, especially once it gets more complex.

Under The Shade by sandbaydev 2014-04-29T20:11:00

A snap-to system might help building quite a bit! Or a free-roaming camera when placing an object? Really great concept!

7 Days by louis.denizet 2014-05-09T18:17:00

For only putting in ~30hrs this is really nice, very relaxing. I was unable to get any Big Trees though (1 seed + 2 sticks).

Beneath The Surface by NoTrueSpaceman 2014-04-28T21:28:00

Really fun, very nice concept. Although saying "from scratch" isn't really true with Unity...

Fish Simulator by Citsua 2014-04-29T15:21:00

Nice idea, unfortunately the implementation is not ideal. Keep at it though, this could be a great little game!

Somalia by Tomski 2014-05-01T17:04:00

This is awesome! By far the best I've played so far!

Sopora by Crabman 2014-04-29T19:52:00

How dare you metal box!!!

Regrowth by RensGroothuijsen 2014-05-09T18:08:00

This is a great start, although definitely has some bugs in that can be polished with more time. The controls are a little hard to get used to, but overall very nice job!

Frack You by Candyhandy 2014-05-06T17:24:00

Really great direction with this one. Definitly add cost to each pipe piece, and the ability to remove pipes and add in new ones.

Beneath The Surface by tastyoishi 2014-05-01T03:30:00

I really like the original idea, just a few tweaks to the physics/challenges and it could be really addicting!

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-04-28T14:31:00

Crazy controls are exactly what I was going for! Thanks!

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-04-28T23:01:00

Thanks for the great feedback everyone!

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-04-28T23:02:00

@Figglewatts It should work on most phones, although sometimes Chrome crashes (Android).

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-04-28T23:04:00

@Miwuc The splash sound actually changes volume depending on your speed!

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-04-28T23:05:00

The controls are actually made by creating a spring between the diver's head and the arrow. It's very buggy, but also my first time using Phaser and P2.js

Sub Aquam Adventure by JimmyBoh 2014-05-03T15:31:00

@mrexcessive, I definitely have some ideas for diver animations, specifically spinning arms with full physics! And I had plans for randomly generated coral/rock maze but could not implement it in time. Thanks for the great feedback!

Under My Skin by codevinsky 2014-04-29T16:07:00

This is great, although after I died I could keep shooting. And great job on the Yeoman generator for Phaser, that and your simple tutorial on Flappy Bird Reborn was my only practice with Phaser!

The submarine engineer by aelita1992 2014-05-15T11:28:00

I really like the art style and concept, although it was very difficult without indicators. The addition of those will make it much less confusing! Keep up the great work!

Descent| by HernanZh 2014-04-29T01:54:00

Played it on mobile, it handles pretty well. I really like the art and gameplay mechanic. It'd be cool to see infinite levels!

Water Golf by Jaenis 2014-04-29T18:09:00

Just add some metrics (avg. time per hole, avg. clicks per hole) and this would be really fun. Also trying different types of fluid (lava, goo, etc.) for different levels would be neat. Great job!

Magma Shuttle by Kentiya 2014-05-20T00:45:00

This is a great little game! I really like the bubbles behind the ship, very 'Game Of Life'. Definitely add more types/values of damage and maybe some sort of weapon/avoidance system? Nice job!

Revenge of the Fish by Colthor 2014-04-29T14:04:00

This is a great idea! Just add a few levels, maybe the ability to change your creature, and networked multiplayer and it would be a great game!

Deep Sea Diving by smikulcik 2014-04-28T23:15:00

I just played on mobile, and it was surprisingly easy! Regardless, very nicely done. My game is very similar, and I also used Phaser!

Mr. Fluffykin's Great Sorting Adventure (AKA where your internet comes from) by Two Scoop Games 2014-05-01T03:19:00

This is great! Although maybe increase the difficulty at a slower rate.

Earth. by miwuc 2014-04-28T21:34:00

Bravo, this is very impressive seeing as you just used jQuery. Definitly look in to Phaser.js(http://phaser.io), you'll feel right at home looking at your code for this. ;)
