LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Colour Code by SnedHlepPls 2015-04-22T14:25:00

Thanks! Yes you are right, it was my first experience with Unity and C#. I agree with you on the shooting controls, unfortunately I couldn't work out how to manage that in the time period. I've also had other people tell me about the speed being too slow aswell, so it seems that's a real issue.

I really like the concept of this game- the art direction certainly reinforces the idea! The narrative so far is good, and adds a lot to the game. In terms of things to improve on, possibly a decription of some of the executables/scripts as while you can infer their purposes from the cutscenes, it is sometimes not abundantly clear. Sound would have also added to the experience.

In any case, well done! I think this would be an interesting concept for you to take further after the Ludum Dare!

Station: Modular by SnedHlepPls 2015-12-15T23:36:00

Hmm, yeah I get what you mean about the text being small, I guess that's what I get for developing on a 1920x1080 monitor XD

I also understand what you mean about the music, I can see it getting annoying. I was aiming for a kind of other-worldly feel with it.

But yeah, thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!

Currant Matters In Bird Town by fakefrogsonly 2015-12-22T17:12:00

I like the depth that you've put into the characters, and how they have their own unique personality. The music I think fitted nicely with the theme of the game. I think that the text could have done with being a bit faster though.

Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare! Despite its short length, I thought that this was a nice little game- the music made me relax until near the end when the ominous drone kicks in and you realise something(won't spoil! XD). I also liked how you interpreted the '2 buttons' theme.

I think that the colour of the text made some of the words a bit difficult to read when the text scrolled the the right hand side of the screen so the darker portion of the background was behind the text.

LD35 — Shapeshift

This game definitely looks pretty, and the animations are nice and slick. Those bullet hell-esque firing animation sequences are pretty.

I did feel that the aiming controls were a tad restrictive though. Good game overall though! If you continue the game after LD, more levels would definitely add to the experience!

Paperchase by DragonXVI 2016-04-18T23:53:00

I REALLY like the look of this game- it's beautifully animated and the art style is great! The music is also pretty darn good.

Wizard Fight by LeftRight92 2016-04-19T09:49:00

I'm really impressed you managed to make a turn-based strategy in 72 hours. The animations on the elements are also very impressive. The art style overall is excellent!

Go Spell It On A Mountain by cgriff 2016-04-27T23:43:00

Interesting concept here. I like the idea of memorizing the spells.

Mr. E by leo_p_mahon 2016-04-19T09:56:00

I really like the feel of the game- the art style combined with the chill jazz works together well! I think that tracking the shapeshifters in the later levels is a bit hard, especially when they walk off screen. Perhaps the people could 'bounce' back off the edges of
the screen?

On a side note, made a double kill with a single bullet XD

Word Warrior by TheBreakfast 2016-04-27T23:23:00

Overall, I thought that this was a very interesting take on the theme, good job! One thing I will say though is that the battles took ages, I think the healths of everything could have been lowered to speed things up.

Sparrow & Flitt by Skruffye 2016-04-19T10:00:00

This is a beautiful game, shame it's short. The art style fits really well, and the bird changing forms through whistling is an interesting concept. I found it easy to remember the note combinations. If this was made into a full length game, I'd play it! I would say that a health system might be a good idea to put in though.

Phase Shift by Allthebees 2016-04-19T09:21:00

I liked the way the music changed subtly when you shape-shifted the stage. The idea also let you create some pretty interesting levels. Good job!

2045 Henkei no Densetsu by Rock Eaters 2016-04-27T23:51:00

I like the art and music! Gameplay wise, I enjoyed it for the most part, I think that being able to shoot sideways would have helped though, for enemies that were sitting on/near the bottom of the screen.

Tessellate by sharrackor 2016-04-19T09:38:00

Those appearance animations are amazing! I also like how damage to your shapes is shown on the sprites rather than as health bars! I really liked how you grew as you destroyed the other shapes. Though if you happen to be unlucky enough to be on the edge of the screen as a bombs comes in, it can do a lot of damage. Perhaps making the bombs a bit slower or a warning before they enter?

Get Out! by jakkarn 2016-04-27T23:38:00

I liked the concept, but I felt that the controls were a bit awkward, with regards to the rotation of the camera also rotating the objects. Perhaps rotating the objects could have been bound to another key/button, maybe like a click and drag right mouse button?

LD37 — One room

Time Passes by leo_p_mahon 2016-12-14T22:16:00

Great story, I think it handled the subject matter responsibly. The music added to the atmosphere. Would have been nice to make the game a bit bigger so the text was a bit easier to read, but other than that, good job!

Other by Skruffye 2016-12-14T22:40:00

A lot of writing in that, good job getting it together in time! I liked the story, and the aftermath part in particular.
