tried web version, but didn't load.. just a white screen :(
Not sure how to run this game?
I couldnt run the web version either :(
couldn't run the web version :\ there is, apparently, an error with the sound folder
I couldn't figure out how to run it. The "Half-time" link loaded something but nothing happens.
Couldn't run either web or Mac versions. Let me know if you fix it: azurenimbus@gmail.com
Hmm, could not get to run on Ubuntu 12.04 with either Open JDK 6, Sun Java 6, or Oracle Java 7. Not sure what the problem is.
Apparently the sound library I use doesn't work for applets. Initially I just forgot to include the library jar.
Now the web version works but there's no sound and the download versions work with sound and everything. I only ended up using two sounds from sfxr anyway, you don't miss much by not downloading it.
I liked the graphics and I think this would have been a really cool game if there was more depth added into it, but as like a basic prototype its pretty cool
Very nice prototype, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun when you add more mechanics to it. Don't stop, keep building! Don't shy away from using libraries to help out.
Got past the menu then nothing :( would have liked to play it
Played the web version. Was able to move about and such but there is no real gameplay I guess? Is too bad as it seemed like there was something here. Graphics looked fairly good, tree's could have been a little more substantial as right now they are about the same size as the character and it's a little hard to tell what it is. Nice work though! Good luck next time!
Looks neat. protip: if you're out of time, use a timer as a highscore. 2/5
I couldn't start the web version and the first time I tried to run the GNU/Linux version I started up stuck behind a tree…
The second try did work, though, and I was able to play. The first thing that I failed to see is the connection with the theme. Is this because you are confined inside an area and thus a “tiny world”? The gameplay lacks some deep, but I can see this turned out a great survival kind of game with some polishing and music. If only there are a single music, I thing the game, as it is gameplay-wise, would gain a lot.
Nothing to complain regarding the graphics; they fit well.
Web version seems quite buggy. I got stuck quite a lot. When it works it's pretty smooth and could potentially be a good game.
Not bad... it could be the beginning of a cool game! I didn't rate on audio because I only played the web version. Running away from zombies is always a good time!
Interesting start to a game - there didn't seem to be much to do other than flee the zombies, but maybe I was missing something. Movement was smooth; it was fun trying to escape the horde.
Cool idea, but this isn't really rateable :/
The bugs in the Windows jar file prevented me from moving :/.
I also couldn't get any movement in the Windows version, but the web version was fine (albeit with no sound). I'd recommend centering the player a bit more in the camera view--you can't see much in front of the player when you're moving off one of the edges (unless that was intentional, of course).
Nonetheless, it's still a functional game. I hope you had fun making it, and that you'll do more with it and/or enter other competitions later!
I think you have a very fun concept. I fail to see the connection to the theme, but besides that I really found it fun and something you could tweak to be pretty cool.
