Played the web version. Was able to move about and such but there is no real gameplay I guess? Is too bad as it seemed like there was something here. Graphics looked fairly good, tree's could have been a little more substantial as right now they are about the same size as the character and it's a little hard to tell what it is. Nice work though! Good luck next time!
Sad. iPhone only here. Frown Town.
Awesome! The style and theme were really interesting. The character was intriguing and lured me to try and figure out more about the strange creature and the world. The wall jump mechanic was nice but was a little cumbersome to use which was made more frustrating by the fact that it was seemingly the main way to traverse the world. Well done though! Lighting and style were very cool. There was an odd thing that happened when I was trying to get one of the orbs in the top right, the screen went blank then i suddenly saw the character in the middle of the screen and nothing else around him and I couldnt move. Not sure what happened. I also did not have any sound for some reason.
Really incredible how vast this game is and the amount of stuff you managed to complete in the amount of time! That being said, it was pretty much unplayable due to controls not working. Shooting would go in odd places. Is too bad as it looked like it could have been a pretty enjoyable game! The force quitting thing was a bit annoying to do on the mac, but understandable in the time constraints.
Wow, this has to be my favorite Compo game so far! The graphics were awesome, loved the style. This really nailed the theme and the transitions from entering the game to the end were done super well and never broke character. Just awesome. Music only helped to support all of the above. Overall great work! I am in awe of what were able to do in the 48 hours.
Very Cool! Really liked the graphics and controls! The lighting mechanic was very interesting as well! I played this on a mac and when it started up the sound let out a horrifying high pitched noise that would not stop and had to mute the speakers. Not sure why that happened. Couldn't really judge the sound though due to that. Ran well and was fun! Well done!
Thanks for the comments!
Yeah, in the post-submission version, I fixed the jumping off of crate's issue. And yes, unfortunately there is only one level for the game. The ending I wanted it to leave it more open ended with the possibility of there being more to build on.
Thanks for playing though! I appreciate the feedback!
Hahah, to tacograveyard, sorry about the knocking the core off the screen thing. Didn't realize that was a problem until after submission when a friend of mine was playing it and managed to do the same thing! I created a fixed version afterwords. Only minor tweaks (fixed box jumping issue, and core flying off the screen) though some things remain a problem such as sticking to walls. The updated version is also a little easier (higher jumping, lower platforms).
Just wanted to thank everyone who's played it so far and commented! This is my first Ludum Dare and really love all the feedback!
Overall I liked the game, but I have some comments to potentially make the play experience a little more enjoyable.
- Movement speed is pretty slow, especially in water, i think a movement speed increase would definitely help exploration.
- The invisible walls in the water are a little confusing. Maybe rocks or something to visibly show that you can't go any further would be very helpful in guiding the player or at least let them know that swimming further would be useless.
Other than that, I found the graphics charming and the concept interesting!
Mac only here. Can't run. For shame.
Aw yeah! Unity representing! Interesting game, though I'm not entirely certain what I did to actually win? Kicked a buncha guys? Maybe a counter could have made it a little clearer that I was on the right track. Jumping felt a little sluggish and heavy as well. Well done though!
So much awesome. The addition of potatoes is an instant win. But not only that, SPACE POTATOES! Awesome sauce. handles well and works well mechanically. I noticed the voxatron visuals which was pretty neat! I wish there was a way to slow down to turn around so you could collect stuff a little easier but other than that, well done!
Thanks for commenting and letting me know you put up a web build! Glad I was able to try this, it's really interesting. Audio really helps create a mysterious ambiance. Graphically it's really clean and well laid out. Well done. Only thing is I don't think I'm smart enough for the puzzles, but enjoyed it none the less!

Aww man! I really wanted to play this but alas, I am on a Mac.
I have a mac and thus cannot play.
Wouldn't work for me. It opened, and I could see the menu and start the game fine, but once the game started I couldn't move the character and it was constantly jumping. Not sure why.
Will not play for me. Chrome said it's because java needs a 64 bit browser which it is not, so I tried safari and it just didn't work.
Interesting! I applaud your concept. The ability to add that level of complexity to something fairly sparse is quite a feat. Though you may have gone a bit too far with the complexity and a bit too far with the minimalism. I had a hard time following what was going on or what i was even controlling at first, once i figured it out, the amount of information I needed to glean from the interface to figure out how to play was overwhelming.
Stellar contribution from the Radmars team as usual! The music really is the star of this game, but the well timed sound shapes only help to reinforce the music, creating a very complete experience. Gameplay is smooth and easy to learn but hard to master. The difficulty is all skill based not arbitrary which is the right way to do difficulty in my opinion.

Nice! Solid concept and execution. Ridiculous Fishing style done pretty well. Downsides - visuals were a bit too complicated, making things a little too busy (but the visuals are done well and look nice!). The controls felt a bit clunky for me, also the shops were not totally apparent what they were (I had no idea it was an Inn until i clicked it).
Also, not sure if it's a bug, but are you supposed to be able to click and drag ont he enemies and select all of them and just have your party attack every enemy every time?
wouldn't run. im on a Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.3, it just flashes then disappears.
Interesting concept though I wish the other senses were played up more (or at all). Also, you're not really blind so much as just have poor sight (you can see perfectly fine once they're within a foot of you i suppose). I understand some concessions need to be made as it'd be difficult to represent true blindess.
The indicator rings were pretty interesting and worked really well. As a way to represent spatial awareness it worked fairly well.
Unfortunately the levels themselves were pretty bare and there wasn't much in the way of incentive to continue or go in a specific order, nor was there any real resolution. Would have liked some more structure or impetus to continue on.
I'm a big proponent of having the game explain itself over needing to read the description ahead of time to know what's going on. This game, although fairly easy to grasp in terms of controls, I have no idea what was going on or why. Even after reading the description I have no idea why planets were exploding when, why sometimes the planet would just dump me off it, how I was being damaged but not the enemy. It was just a little too obtuse for me.
The controls for launching the player were a little too slow too, so aiming was difficult if possible at all. Made for not much fun, more frustration.

Nice ambiance. Made me sleepy while playing. Wish there was something that made my motivations a little more clear. Also, the fact that the world is seemingly endless was a little confusing at first as i wasn't sure how far I should go or what would happen. Still not really sure if there is an ending, after a while the red dots stopped seeming to do anything (after the cubes became pigs) so I stopped.
Nice, fun game! I sucked at it but it worked and resopnded well. I love the little effects when you slam into the ground, how everything kinda shakes and falls over. Really nice, simple and fun.

The link for OSX gives me a windows build.

Great game! Loved the concept and the execution works really well! Visuals were bare but created nice depth and relayed the information cleanly, well done. Only rough points were that sometimes the character felt a little too slow, changing the stop lights didnt feel super responsive (sometimes would take a few hits to change or would immediatly swap opposite what i wanted after leaving). This goes for the repairing, although well done, getting to repair stuff felt unnecessarily sluggish.
The AI worked really well and was a big win for this game. though sometimes it would be difficult to stop the traffic as they'd hit me and just push me backwards.
Interesting. I liked the idea with the color addition as a gameplay element.
@fysx the levels are static, as in the same ever time. They were randomly generated but not at run-time, so I just put each level into it's own scene. I also hand tweaked them a bit to fix issues or help the layout.
Definitely understand the comments about feedback, couple things fell by the wayside (audio as a whole sadly always seems to get lost).
I took part in two games; this one (a solo endeavor) and a team game (Team Radmars) which can be found here: http://bit.ly/YmAoj4

Wow. This game is robust. How you managed this in 72 hours is beyond me. Well done sir. Music really sets a great mood. Visuals are simple but do their job. The AI involved is also pretty solid. All around really great job!
