I found the "exit" red text but nothing happened as i hit that..
By the way, for different keyboard layouts (europeans?) turn buttons are:
< = ,
> = .
My keyboard has < and > on the same key, before z!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD24 → EVILUTION

This actually made me frantic trying to find the exit while avoiding the creepy enemies and it was good fun, but one I found the exit, I had no idead what to do... is that it?
I instantly died the first time I started the game lol.
Restarted and managed to run away and explore the maze. Love the graphics - the vines help to set the mood well.
Gameplay mechanic is simple but works really well. I'm not sure where the theme comes into the design though (other than the title) - I thought the maze might have been generated or something but it looked the same to me.
Regardless, one of the better games I've played so far
There are 3 levels. If you walk into the exit it should bring you to the next one. If you can find all 3 exits then it bring you to a win screen.
Sorry about the keybindings. I was having some trouble when the turning was bound to right and left. You couldn't turn right while moving diagonally. It seemed to work for every other key except right. It was a last minute decision to assign it to ">". I don't think I can change the keys now that it's submitted.
I got to a wall that says EXIT now what?
Is that a software 3D engine? Yes? Neat! Gotta respect the dedication it takes to do that. And it doesn't have any weird graphical glitches, either.
Wasn't able to finish. Thought admire dedication to write it from ground up. Plays smoothly!
Hm.. the exit doesn't open for me either..
I love the graphics and how the game feels, but music and sound would have been really nice. And like ollie, I can't see the relation to the theme.
I also seem to have gotten stuck at the exit wall. However, it was still pretty fun.
So many enemies that are unavoidable. It's a bit overwhelming. The visual style has potential.
Hmmmmmm I can't seem to recreate the exit error... The collision box is kind of in the corner. Maybe that's it?
Sorry about that
I tried running into the exit like you said but it doesn't do anything, but none the less a great game even if it doesn't fit into the title
Sorry I meant the theme except for the title
Those flying things are kindof scary ;c I found the exit, but I couldn't enter?
I've tested both the linux and windows versions and the exits work fine for me. I'll try testing it on a different computer when I get home.
The start and end points of each level both have the same texture (with EXIT on them). You can only go through the door at the end of each level. Maybe people are doubling back and finding the first door again? I should really have given them different textures...
too hard. I cant do anything about the enemies. controls are hard, because I cant see where the enemies come from.
Nice little game
Pretty awesome that you have used SDL and C++, I'll be reading the source code out of curiosity to see what you've done to achieve this.
404 not found error when I try to download
This was great. Being nervous of what's around every corner, while being pushed on by the fear of the enemies behind you. It was a great experience, but didn't really fit the theme... at all?
The original idea was that each level would, in some way, represent a different aspect of fear (eg. dread, terror, panic). As you progressed, the levels would get scarier and more difficult causing the player to become more panicked and afraid, hence, the evolution of fear.
Unfortunately this is as far as I got within the 48 hours. The fact that you keep the same health throughout the levels does kind of make it scarier as you progress, but that's definitely not enough to fit the theme.
Is there any way to actually exit the maze? I see an exit, but I can't get out.
Kind of reminds me of notch`s prelude of the chambered.
Fun! :)
Wow! Very fun, didnt know what to do at the exit though ahah!
Luckily read the comments after doing the same mistakes a few times (finding the turn keys from the readme and trying to take the wrong exit).
Really like the "oldschool" rendering and movement style. Could imagine that some matching background track and hit/hurt samples would improve the atmosphere even further.
For my taste the window is a bit to small but had some kind of "evolution" after finding out how to dodge enemies in front of you within narrow areas.
Like the art style, gameplay is more intense than most of the other LD games I've played so far.
With appropriate sound, this game could be quite creepy! The graphic style is nice. Didn't like how easy it was to die before realising what was going on. I didn't manage to find any exits :(
The game was a lot of fun! I really liked the creepy and frantic feel. The controls worked well imo. I would love to see this expanded upon. Also, in the version I downloaded (Windows), you start right next to the exit, which might be a bug. Fun game!
Nice 3D! :-D
This game is a little bit scary :) The oven timer went off while I was playing and I jumped.
I gave up after a few attempts without finishing the first level. Maybe making the level smaller or giving me some way of feeling like I'm making progress (different wall textures ) would help keep me hooked.
i love the engine and visual style, it's VERY good, the controls could use a bit more work, they're in very odd locations. A little ambient sound would have gone a long way here too. Aside from that it's good, but honestly i don't see a "evolution" tie in aside from the name :P
Not really related to the theme, but I always like these kind of 3D engines.
Terrifying enemies. Bit annoying that they spawned on top of me a couple of times and I died instantly.
Really nice engine, though.
Nice "wolf3D" feeling. Good job.
