Woah this is one of the better arcade games I've tried so far in LD44! Very fun, I love the target rings when you wake up the foxes, very well done!
The graphics and music is amazing too, I love it!

Looks very nice, I like the music. Bit confusing
I loved the music in this game it really adds to the mood and atmosphere. It was a very fun little game. I was not able to win and im still not sure how to win? The fox sprites were super cute as well! The gameplay was nice and fast paced and it felt like an old school arcade game! Super great work!
Amazing art and audio! Good compo game!
The audio it's really good! Matches the whole game! The art fits right into the arcade vibe! Very well done!
I really liked this one. It was easy to figure out what to do after one play through. On the second playthrough, I got enough coins to buy a car. Mole was happy.
I still don't get what the X button did though. It didn't seem to keep the foxes asleep, dodge their attacks, or prevent me from losing coins when hit.
I did a stream of playing the Nash Game Dev games: https://youtu.be/sZZ8h6iOVbM
@johnsensei The X key was making the mole faster. I love the music and the oldschool graphics. Also the fact you did it in PICO8. Respect.
It took me a bit of time to figure out I could only dig through holes but after that the game was very fun. I really like the gameplay. It would be nice you add the source code and the softs you used so we can learn things :) Cheers!
@hugzfnr Thanks! Everything was made with a Lua based tool called pico-8. the source code is actually available at the same link the playable game is one. at the bottom of the game window, there is a footer with some options "Cart, code, liscense ...". Clicking code will show you the source code. I realize if you are not farmiliar with Pico-8, that is probably unclear, I will make a note of it in the about section, appreciate the feedback!
Nice and polished! Everything worked pretty well together. Not too much of a challenge but it doesn't matter, it was still fun to play. The car was a nice touch!
Cute. Got a new car before I was completely outnumbered by foxes! Nice retroish handheld graphics and sound, and done with pico8  Good job!
Always good to see a pico8 game. This one was great all around. Good Job!
Cool concept, I liked the mechanic of getting the foxes attention to draw them away from coins then digging back in behind them. Also very impressive doing this on Pico8. Great entry!
This game is very fun and looks good I love it! So is it night on the other side cuz it's the other side of the world?
@ratrat44 Thanks! glad you liked it. Its actually supposed to be digging in and out of a foxes den and the darkness is supposed to represent being underground.
Very fun idea, and really cool you got it running on a fantasy console! I liked how it works as a stealth game until you wake up a bunch of foxes - then it turned to action as you either try to find a way out of the den or rush around picking up the last few coins.
I'm also the proud owner of a fancy new mole car so I can't complain there.
Nice game! It has some challenge to it and depth with the different layers the mole can go on -- though I do wish the upper layer had more to do on it, aside from sporting a fancy new car. Also, it is a bit too easy to run into the sleeping area of a fox, grab a coin, and slip out without repercussions.
The core mechanics was really unique and fun! It was maybe a little easy to avoid the foxes by jumping back and forth between sides. But I had fun with it and could see it expanded into a larger game. Great stuff!
Overall: Novel, fun game.
Fun: OK, this is really fun. (Fun enough that I eventually forgot I was meant to be reviewing it.) It distills stealth games down to a really simple mechanic. I think it's fantastic. My only suggestion would be to provide some better feedback to the player. In particular, if there are too few coins left to win the level, alert the player and probably end the game straight away. As it was, the first time I played, I collected all the coins and then thought that the failure message was just a funny way of ending the game.
Innovation: It's clever! I haven't seen a game with gameplay like this.
Theme: Yes
Graphics: Fine, considering the Pico-8 constraints!
Audio: Good! I really like how there's a separate track for underworld and overworld.
Humor: Funny concept and I laughed at the progression of rewards.
Mood: Good, aided by aforementioned changing music.
Got to love Pico8 when put to good use. Game sounds and plays great. Had a lot of fun!
I love seeing people make really fancy stuff in PICO-8. Bit on the unforgiving side, though - once you wake up those foxes, they're really hard to avoid!
cool game, the art and music/sound is nice.. was fun to play
This is one of the more creative entries I've seen so far-- it's also one of the entries I might actually replay at some point. It was as simple as it was fun; although I wish it lasted a tad longer, I enjoyed it a lot. All around, great work!
I liked the game or rather the image of how little you show, you should look for financing I know some pages like these https://www.fxstreetlive.com/ that can help you earn money and with that you can follow your project to take it to different platforms and with that earn more money.
I recently for a broker of a previous deal began to occupy http://bitcoinequaliser.co/ by recommendation of him the intermcabios bitcoin page that recently is giving me more money, currently I hope to increase my earnings more so as not to have problems at the end of the year I hope the market continues to grow.
