Definitely some polish needed. The transitions from screen to screen was choppy (killed me once...). I liked the coin/spell management. Made a simple game like this challenging. Maybe would have been nice to increase the total coin count.

flashviper 2019-05-01 02:08

@andyp I agree. There is a TON of polish needed. Did you get a really insanely high jump? I call those a super jump and they are, um, uh, a totally intended feature that totally was intentional. It totally didn't come up because this was the first platformer controller I've ever programmed from scratch...

As for the total coin count, I was going to increase it after you finished each level, but it never happened. Oops...

banzi 2019-05-01 08:39

Nice one. I like the color palette. From the start I didn't see a point why to shoot the enemies. Maybe drop the limit to coins all-together and make the player plan his moves to end up with the higest amount at the end? Good job!

hopeen 2019-05-01 17:41

My biggest issue was the coin management, I got stuck on an area where I couldn't really progress further due to killing myself with my own shots. And yea the jump is quite buggy. I also made a platformer for the first time, so I know your pain, damn is the movement hard to figure out. Props on the game though, it's a really nice concept and a decent execution. Hope to see more from you in the future.

fingamer 2019-05-02 00:01

Yeah, I got the jump issue as well. The maximum coin count could've been a bit higher. I almost every time died to my own shots ;_;. The art is simple and it was cool to have some background music. The interpretation of the theme is nice and clearly seen here.

The game glitched for me one time. I died but somehow still collected the coins and after a while I ended up in a place where I hadn't been yet before the death. It was weird and I couldn't really keep playing cause the screen nor the character wouldn't move.

But anyways it was a fun game but could use some polish. Good job.

red 2019-05-02 00:09

I quite liked the difficulty, it kept me going. Needs a longer audio loop.

nava 2019-05-02 00:33

Really cool concept.

I like it how everything in the game affects both player and enemies equally. At one point I got an enemy to hit a target for me.

Good job!

redmountainman1 2019-05-02 09:47

Loved it, took about 20 minutes to beat. :D

julienlussiez 2019-05-02 14:30

The art is pretty good like the appropriation of the theme. There are some bugs during the transition between screens. I also had a bug when I died, I couldn't see my character.

flashviper 2019-05-02 22:38

@banzi Thanks for the feedback! I put a coin limit on the player to prevent you from getting enough coins that you wouldn't need to care about using them. But I do think you idea of rewarding players for collecting a large amount of coins instead of punishing them for using too many has some merit, so I'll look into it.

flashviper 2019-05-02 22:52

@hopeen Thanks for the feedback! Platforming is fairly easy to get working, but really hard to polish. But I enjoyed the challenge!

@fingamer I agree, the max coins you can hold should be higher. I wish I had the time to increase it every time you collect a trophy, but I forgot. Thanks for playing my game!

@red I agree, the music could be longer. I didn't want to spend too much time on it, so I game myself a 60 minut time limit. I'm glad you liked the difficulty as well, that's one of the things I really like in platforming games.

@nava Thanks for the feedback. I tried to design the game so that everything could interact with coins. It isn't perfect, but there are some cool puzzle concepts surrounding it.

@redmountainman1 Thanks for playing the game! If you get a super jump, you can probably beat the game in under 5 minutes, but I never officially timed myself. I would add the game to speedrun.com, but I don't want my life to be more humiliating than it actually is.

@julienlussiez I'm glad you like my art! It's one of the things I worked the hardest on, besides the platforming script. And screen transitions are the bane of my existence. Anyone who's played Infinity Search, my Ludum Dare 42 game, will be able to attest to that.

sockyman 2019-05-03 00:29

This game is a lot of fun and the concept behind it is a good one.

machwerx 2019-05-05 01:42

I love the use of the theme on this!

We had a similar idea for our game (Pigsy Banksy) where you play a flying piggy bank, collecting and shooting coins as your life / ammo. It was fun to see similar ideas expressed in different ways. Great job with the platforms. The ideas really built on top of each other in interesting ways.

vulpineblazeyt 2019-05-05 01:50

This was pretty good, especially the kind of depth the level had (targets, free coin thing, moving platform). I had some troubles, not-having 11/10 and leaving hella coins, and then later wishing I them them back. Simple ass pigs get sinister quick. Worst nit pick was when I shot a target too close and it went thru and into a wall. Nbd. Had a blast, not much to nit pick, win-win-win!

dorblin7z7 2019-05-05 04:34

I liked the graphics, but the SFX got a little harsh after I started shooting out a lot of money. Was challenging to balance offence with making sure you don't run out of coins!

tero-pulkkinen 2019-05-05 23:41

looks good. One of the pigs after the rotating platform was too difficult for me. But there's tons of good gameplay logic in the game. And graphics looks good wwith nice animations and everything.

curled-leaf 2019-05-06 01:35

I really like game. Doors, puzzles everything looks great :D But one of my favorite part was creative and smooth looking camera and player movement. But i have a bug few times. When i go forward and go back for coins. Camera was stuck in the previous room. Maybe you can fix it. It's good and funny game.

flashviper 2019-05-06 01:56

@sockyman Thank you for playing (and presumably rating) this game. Glad you enjoyed it!

@machwerx I'm glad you appreciate my interpretation of the theme. I played your game, and I agree, your interpretation of the theme was fun to watch. Good job, by the way.

@vulpineblazeyt I'm glad you liked the depth. I spent a good 10 minutes thinking about it, and, yeah, the 'free coin things' are supposed to be fans. Oops...

@dorblin7z7 Yeah, the sound was kind of slapped on at the last minute. Needless to say, it's not my strong suit. But I'm glad you liked the challenge!

@tero-pulkkinen Sorry you found one of the pigs too difficult. If we both have the same one in mind, then I agree with you. That pig was poorly placed. But I'm glad you like the graphics and animations. If we're being honest, I spent about way too much time on them.

@curled-leaf Thanks for the compliments! I'm very proud of the smooth scrolling camera, but as I've said before, screen transitions are the bane of my existence.

hunter-towe 2019-05-07 02:24

I had issues with the camera, and sometimes it would transition to the wrong side of the screen. I ended up having to restart the game for it to work. So needless to say, there's some sort of bug; however, I was able to complete the full game without any problems after restarting. You did an excellent job on making the game engaging with only a few types of obstacles. I do have a question, though-- was that one pig that always jumps into the spikes put there intentionally to lure players to their death? If so, it worked on me. Aside from some of the bugs, this is a pretty good entry!

flashviper 2019-05-07 21:42

@hunter-towe I'm glad the screen glitches didn't get in the way of your experience. And no, the pig wasn't put there to lure players to their death. It was originally meant to be a mutation on the challenge of platforming over spikes, but when I saw it, I decided that I could better spend my time fixing other things, and that, hey, it shows people that spikes can be used to kill enemies too!

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2019-05-15 00:20

I enjoyed the movement, and the animations/death effect of character. I didn't like getting dropped right on top of an enemy at the start of the second level. Also if I stood too close to a switch, I would shoot behind it. Overall, well done. :)

To play successfully at online casinos (on regular sites, of course) you need good experience. I can recommend this saty, long loved by all long-time players https://tower.bet/hi-lo for the best live dealer casino games. This is a new trend in gambling, giving maximum realism when playing at home, and the opportunity to win a big score.
