LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Well this is a pretty fun game. Solid concept, good choice of music that helped set the tone. Graphical style is decent but there are some issues. Most notably the ground seems to flicker a lot while driving around.

This is an interesting idea for a shmup having the enemies fire what are essentially power-ups but also having a limit on how many you can collect before losing. I also got confused at first and thought you were meant to collect the food items so that might need to be made more clear to the player.

Tower Snake by superfrog 2017-12-07T02:25:26Z

`A Game for commodore 64` Well that sure is something. Pretty solid game for only a couple days work on an old platform like this. I think my main suggestions would be to include some audio and probably have a bigger room size. The game only uses a small part of the C64s screen and just leaves the rest empty. Also, not sure if this is a bug, but every time you move to a new room the snake gets an additional segment.

Diet Time by GerardB 2017-12-05T23:43:31Z

Really neat game. Starts very easy and then escalates pretty quickly. It did stop getting harder though and seemed like I could've played indefinitely, but I stopped at 236. There's no score on the screen while the game is being played which I found a bit odd. Also the music just stopped playing after a while.

The escape of the red panda by chispaLBC 2017-12-06T22:41:48Z

Fun little game. Solid idea. Not sure why there's an option to skip taking an upgrade though since it lets you completely avoid the premise. The player can just choose not to take upgrades and the game doesn't seem to get any harder.

CATSPLOSION by cfehunter 2017-12-05T20:40:16Z

This seems like a cute little casual shooter. I do have a few suggestions though.

- The cats get in the way of fighting enemies a lot. The player can also stand on top of the cats which seemed to cause me to fire over the enemies and miss shots. It might be a good idea to disable physics on the cats or something.

- It is very difficult to hit enemies with the keyboard controls. It might help if the yarn gun had a little bit of a spread.

- While I didn't spend the time to find out, it looked like you could win the game simply by camping out inside the shield around the ship and just grabbing cats that wander by. Maybe the cats should hang out in small areas away from the ship instead of wandering around randomly.
