A fun game, though I'm not sure I understand how it fits the theme. Still, it was nice to play!

Few bugs: - you can leave on the left in the first level by "climbing" on the side of the screen. - it's possible to fall in the "toxic waste" such that you get stuck there and get hurt repeatedly in a loop without dying - I think the end screen doesn't work for me (see image below)

It's like Super Mario, but with zombies and zombie dogs! Gameplay is great, and you should definitely expand on that.

Thanks for comments so far! The screen seems to turn black in certain browsers. Chrome and Edge look to be OK with regards to text/black screen.

I updated the bug with the black screen at the end and abandoned the rollout effect. Hopefully it fixes the bug that some are having.

Hey great game - I had a blast playing it! :smile:

I loved the zombie enemies and the wall climb ability, they were really cool!

Also great interpretation of the 'Sacrifices must be made' theme. :thinking:

In terms of how the game could be updated, it would be nice to possibly have more obstacles which would try to stop you - Maybe giant zombie hands coming up from the ground? Zombie goo dripping down?

With longer development goals, the story could be expanded to encorporate the story of death and taxes more, as well as the addition of more zombies along the way. Maybe with we could see the actual tax man? :moneybag:

Game was a bit short/easy but grabbing ledges was a nice touch and stomping enemies is always great fun!

A well-made game, with good controls (it's short, but while it lasts it is cool). Graphics are obviously simple, but work well (animation, in particular, is quite good). Sound worked well, too. I have two main complaints/suggestions. First, I found the controls very non-ergonomic (no way I can use WASD, space baser and the mouse with only two hands :slight_smile:). The second is the theme: I really couln't get the relation between the game and the LD43 theme). But, yeah, cool game.

Just a comment about the theme in the game: The theme is supposed to be the ending. You sacrifice the coins. A bit lame, I know. :)

Simple, short game. I like that you took the time to put in an anim state for hanging off the edge of a ledge. There's also a small animation on the dogs before they leap at you which was much appreciated so they can tell when they are about to leap.

This could be a great start, but right now it just feels really... empty. There isn't very much to do.

The sound effects don't match up very well, either.

Definitely something you could build on if you wanted to. I think the enemies take a few too many shots to be killed though, once I had the gun I just stood still shooting at them (which also made it sort of easy - maybe when you shoot them once they should get aggro'd at come at you?).
