TODO: review game
Things I liked: - nice art style - changes in hue as you progress - power-ups and obstacles - indicators of what is coming turns it into a fun twitchy game rather than usual dropper
Improvements: - it's pretty eash to 'cheese' your way to the end because objects always spawn in the same 3 spots. You could either randomize this or have two types of spawners, either 3 or 2, and they are interlaced on the x axis so that player is forced to move if they want to reach the end. - you could also have the cloud and negative obstacles impact the x velocity of the player to make it more of a ragdoll effect.
Bugs: - didn't notice any.
It's pretty wacky! It was getting pretty repetitive and I didn't know when I was going to fall so I decided to just let go of controls. Reached speed 500 and died, probably because I caught too many weights :)
@bw-devel Thank you for your feedback! I like the suggestions you made. I did consider randomizing the spawnspots more, but I thought you would probably lose the game if you just stay in one spot (if you collect nothing you lose, if you stay in 1 row you will probably collect way to many weights -since they have a bigger chance of spawning -and lose), and also I ran out of time :)
@vegmuffin Thanks for playing my game :). I only thought of adding a indicator of how far you had left to go after I finished my submission.
I really appreciate the incoming indicators. Relatively easy game but art style is nice and it's short enough that I didn't get bored.
cool game! survived the fall =) the art style was really nice especially on the full screened game, I dug the textured look. controls felt great. the indicator arrows were a very nice touch. What I needed to be doing and what my limitations on the screen were were both very clear. Great sense of speed when I really got going, especially the high 200s. Sound effects were clean and gamey, I liked them. Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare!
my first playthrough I was too tempted to just let it go and see.. turns out I ended up like a panini but that was quite entertaining :) third playthrough I was able to beat it, mostly due to luck with a few clouds saving my butt towards the end :) great take on the theme and fun gameplay!

This is fun! I did not even come close to surviving on my first one—grabbed a couple of weights early and then I was falling too fast to do anything else—but I made it with 23 extra bones (?) on my second  Great use of the theme, and the art’s good too!
I like it. It's fun and good looking
That was pretty nice, I managed to survive the fall! I liked the art style and the indicators are a nice touch to make the game more fair. You did a great job for a Compo game and a first Ludum Dare, be proud
This game should have been shorter didn't hit a single red object and it took forever
Simple and fun for a while. Just long enough that it doesn't overstay it's welcome (the ending also made me chuckle.. and no I did not survive.) I really like that it has indicators as well. Congrats on your first jam! Keep it up!
Neat little concept and a good execution. I liked the sense of speed and minimalistic art.
Trying to strengthen yourself up to survive the landing is a cool twist on this sort of game and it's really well put together.
The warnings about which objects are coming up adds a nice level of user friendliness to it too.
Nice game! Pretty self explained and easy to play (I died at the and, but at least I know why haha) Great job!
This was great. No real issues. Only thing I can think of is to have a prompt on how much of the fall I have left, also, if you can keep a score of how many bones were broken.
Congrats on finishing a game in 48h! :confetti_ball:
A well put together game and I really liked the art/gfx. Not sure though if there was some foul play in it because I managed to hit all the red arrows on my first try...there should be some bonus-score for that, no?
Congrats on your first LD :D This was good simple fun. Definitely appreciated the arrows but maybe a wee bit shorter fall and a little less clouds would even out the experience. As it was now I hardly got any speed until I got close to the end and accidentally grabbed a large weight, but when that speed picked up I started getting nervous ^^ Would definitely have liked a bit more of that :)
Good work! ^^
@gaminghamster Thanks for trying my game! I agree the fall might have been a bit shorter, I wanted to give a feeling of a fall that lasts forever, but might have gone a bit to far with it.. All the items spawn randomly, and the cloud has the least change of all to spawn. In my tests I've only gotten a few each round, but maybe I should have added some sort of cool-down timer to the clouds so they can't spawn to close together, to avoid experiences like yours!
Nice compo game, congrats! I just add some things to kill the character, to be more challenger =) final
I survived! :) Nice idea, and nice graphics and sound. At one point I thought it was starting to go too fast, but then things turned around and I slowed down enough. I don't know if I'd play this for hours, but it's definitely fun for a bit.
the game was really fun, one of the few games I played more than twice. my duck life flying skills finally came in handy :D good game no bugs
