Great game ! I especially like that the light fade with your power. However maybe there are not enough powerup, I ran quickly out of power and was never able to refill it.

Couldn't make my keyboard inputs do anything, the music was GREAT though

iovorobiev 2017-08-02 00:49

Awesome game! Love the idea of showing life as the light around the character.

Pretty cool entry. I played it for a while, and ran into a couple issues with inputs. But I think it was because my trackpad is a bit finicky. Really fun though. The art could have had a bit more pizazz, but you covered up the lack of art using an interesting artstyle and silhouettes. Not to mention the darkness. Good work. I enjoyed it.

Love the visual and the concept. It's also nice that the music changes in boss phase. However, I couldn't make it past the second phase: after the first minigame: your game felt like a bullet hell, and I was already so low!

I'd had some power up, or a checkmark: the game's a bit too unforgiving.

To change color, I think you could use something else than 123: maybe space to run though color?

Still I enjoyed your game: well done!

Fun and action-packed! I liked the different weapons matching enemy types. The bosses were phenomenal, though the last one went on for way too long in my opinion. Fantastic music.

I agree with many of the comments here. Nice concept, I loved the idea of matching colors to enemy types, and the blue weapon was really unique. The power drain mechanic was a bit minimal, since it was basically a "you're fine" or "you're dead" and not too much you can do about it other than not getting hit, so probably could use a bit of iterating on that concept.

In all, nice job!

Oh that was great! I got so into it when I reached the blue boss and died I actually yelled out NNooooO!! Then my kid ran in the room to make sure I was okay lol. Really enjoyed the very creative theme. Well done!

I am horrible at bullet hell stuff, but this was very solid. The projectiles had good impact, the waves were interesting, and the bosses were a nice touch. I would have liked to see more purpose to the light going out, however. I could see most enemies well enough with their glowing marks.

Nice game! I love how you know a boss is coming for the rise in intensity in the music. As mentioned above, control-wise switching colors is a bit cumbersome, a "switch to next color" button could have been nicer. I'd also prefer the nova attack in a big or accessible button, such as the space bar or the right click, since you use it typically when you're saying "Ahhh!".

That being said, the fact that each shot type was designed for each enemy type was really cool (eg spread for enemies that approach you). The diversity of enemies makes it that much more interesting to play, and the bosses are a pretty cool expansion on each enemy type's core ideas.

Very cool visual style and artwork, and I love the Egyptian connection. I didn't read about the nova button until my second playthrough, so that was useful then. I also didn't realize that only bullets hurt me,not collisions with guys. The music was really great, and I liked the three different weapon types and the lighting fading with increased damage, although that tended to make your death happen even faster. I found the game very hard, although I think if I played it more I would get better. Very nice work with this - it looks and sounds crisp and very professional in-game.

This might just be the nature of browser games, but when I accidently moved the cursor past the game window and clicked, the game froze, the first time it eventually came back, but the second time I had to refresh the page and start over. :/ Outside of that, I enjoyed it! I like the different weapon options and the strategy of changing weapons depending on the color of the enemy. the difficulty ramp was a bit steep right after the first boss, as I literally died immediately and wasn't even sure what happened... but I enjoyed it nonetheless! :)

Engaging and challenging bullet hell kind of game. Gameplay is pretty fun and i like that you have to switch between your 'powers' to maximize damage output, it give a new level of depth to the mechanics. Art style is minimalistic but elegant and all enemies are well designed. I also like the backstory, it creates a neat immersion. In overall it is a pretty cool game and fun to play.

yuigoto 2017-08-03 05:46

Nice work! I like these twin-stick/bullet hell type of shooter games, so I'm kinda biased to talk about this, but I enjoyed your game and I liked the pace and effort you put into making it! :D Visually it looks pretty good, and I like the silhouette-style look you made for the game!

The overall controls felt a bit slow at first, but I got used to it soon. Still, I found that you could've done something different for changing weapons (like cycling using Q and E, for example), so it would become even more easier and accesible. But I found it pretty fun to play and quite challenging! :D

The music also helped set up a nice mood for the game too! And it really fits the game's setting!

Nice work, Good Job! Cheers! :D

blaclegi 2017-08-03 11:59

I liked the concept and the game itself was good (although I wasn't sure about the movement - I couldn't it to move, but it may just have been slow). The graphics were nice and so was the audio, so good effort and a solid game.

didactylos 2017-08-04 18:03

This is a good game! I do feel (like others do) it has some balance issues, but the different weapons are really effective.

Different controls might make this a very different game - right click to cycle, long click for nova... This would make it easier to stay mobile and fighting, which is vital in a bullet hell game.

linky439 2017-08-04 18:09

Really nice! I really liked the art style, simple but effective, the music is good (well, I think the boss music is too loud and quickly gets boring, but it exists and the other music is good!), the controls are fine... Even if I feel using the 1/2/3 isn't really practical (maybe you could have switch color with the mouse right button or something?), as well as using the Power Nova (R + ctrl ? Why not just R ? ^^)

Otherwise, it's really good. Well done! :)

strega 2017-08-20 07:57

Interesting shoot'em up. I didn't get very far, I think I was in the group of people where the input wasn't working well.

pacog 2017-08-22 06:49

Really nice game, very fun to play! I love the different weapons for each color and the music :)

mad-fizban 2017-08-22 08:58

Nice game, I really enjoyed the music it added to the mood

shito 2017-08-22 14:38

Cool game. Really like the graphic and the music, especially the boss theme. They both build a very good atmosphere for your Egyptian theme. Got totally absorbed into the game that I forgot that I had a nova attack. ^^ The different attacks felt well balanced and the switch between the weapon mode felt very natural. I don't know how the power mechanic was intended, but for me it just felt like that power are just my hitpoints, because the power drain of the shots was really low, so in the end I just kept firing.

All in all very well polished game. Great work, I really liked playing it. :)

somnium 2017-08-22 16:01

Interesting and very atmospheric game!

The music and graphics are simple, and yet very evocative. The game has a great mood, which is further underscored by the element of mythology you chose to include! The light being reduced in step with your energy levels worked was a nice touch as well!

The difficulty was pretty high, I had to try multiple times to survive long enough to get past the first miniboss - and then the game crashed shortly thereafter, because I missed the small window and accidentially clicked outside the game canvas. I managed to get a bit further on later attempts, but unfortunately not to complete the entire game.

The three different types of shots, matched to different kinds of enemies was a nice way to bring some extra variety to the gameplay, as were the minibosses.
