Cool!! This game is hard when you lose your sight!!!

The music contributes amazingly to the dark mood of the game! I like that the inescapability of the ending is probably intentional. I felt a sense of accomplishment after the blind level, which was nicely contrasted with the sense of helplessness of the last one. I would really dig a penultimate stage, where you sacrifice one of your legs and you move more slowly. One more suggestion: maybe you could make the orange enemies a little larger so that their higher health can be distinguished during the blind stage.

Great job!

Nice game! I like the idea and the story of it

Nice game! The twist at the end is pretty interesting. The shooting sound for the first stage is a little too loud though. It would also be better if the ammo limitations were a little less generous, especially with regards to the ammo spawns, but these are small issues.

Wow. This was an amazing little game. For what it lacked in the initial visual sense it made up for with the music, mood and story. Love the sacrifices you have no choice but to make. Have to say this is one of, if not my favourite game of the jam I've played so far purely based on how well you made the story. Great job.

Great idea, could be a bit better in terms of realization. Simple but fun mechanics made sure I played it to the end. I've nearly sacrificed my IRL sight to this entry :D

When I can't move, I know I'm dead. The second start, shooting, there would be no sound

drikdrok 2018-12-06 15:01

@morriss yes that's the point of the game. You're sacrificing parts of yourself :)

Nice idea. The gameplay was a bit simple but it became more interesting when you began losing parts of your character. I really enjoyed the grim mood, and the music perfectly fitted the theme. What I disliked was the fact first levels were way too easy, maybe you could have reduced the ammo spawn rate to add some challenge?

Even though the core gameplay worked and was executed well, I didn't really feel that the sacrifices were that fun. I'm just thinking aloud here (so feel free to disregard ) but perhaps if you would, for instance, lose your sanity and start seeing enemies that are not there, or become clumsy which would stop you from firing for a few seconds when picking up ammo, the increasing challenge could be more interesting.

Good twist on an otherwise classic gameplay. The game is fun but I have to say maybe 100 souls is a bit much at the begining? Maybe something like the further you go, the more souls you have to kill... I don't know, just throwing ideas ^^

Otherwise, it is pretty solid. Minor complain: why do you have two guns if you only shoot one line of bullet ? :p

Anyway, congrats!

Pretty nice gameplay and concept. I think that the graphics and the audio could be improved (the background music seems a little too slow paced for a fast paced game), but i know the compo timeframe really limits what you can do. Good entry.

Pretty fun game, I loved the music, it really created a great mood. I've said that in a another game review, but I feel like the "sacrifice" concept works better if there's a choice and trade-off. Still, it does fit the theme perfectly :-)
