Onigiri Mining Corporation by wasd 2021-04-30T06:58:04Z
Cool game, Nice humor. I wouldn't eat those onigiris though :P

Really like the art style! With such great art you should really add a cover image, you'd probably get a lot more plays!
It was a little confusing at first, and I'm still not sure I understand the mechanics completely, but I enjoyed it!
Cool game, Mining Camp is OP though;)
Background music is great! Had no idea what powerups do and enemies were difficult for me to hit. With some more polish it could turn into a nice little game :)
Nice work! It's ambitious for a jam game for sure. In the future I'd suggest scaling it down a bit and focusing more on polish (especially the first area). Once you start going down into the cave the atmosphere really picks up though. For 72 hours it's an impressive amount of work though!
Congrats and best of luck!
A little slow for me, would be nice if the mining could be sped up. I like the concept though, especially the crystal management aspect, it adds an interesting dynamic.
Nice game! I can see it becoming a real thing.
Would be nice if you could destroy/overwrite placed buildings (at least the danger sign, it's annoying if you change your mind there), and I got a little confused with the whole ladder+platform thing at first as well. It would be nice if you could plan your mine a bit more, maybe with some indestructible rocks so you know for sure that they won't go there?
Cool game! Well done for a jam, with a couple more features it could be a full game. Music was awesome as well as the graphics.
It seemed like saving survivors upgraded your ship? It would be nice to have some control over what got upgraded. Maybe if you add resources then it adds a bit of a dynamic between rescuing survivors and collecting more resources.
The one thing I didn't like is the drag, you're in space after all ;)
Cool concept with the reset, the mining is a little slow for me and some sound/animation would go a long way. Great start though!
It's a pretty basic game but I love the audio!
Mood/Art/Music are all great, those red spikes are tough though! :P
I really liked it! Sounds and art went together really nicely. Gameplay was pretty basic but at the same time really fun and well done. I don't think the "cheese arrow" is really neccessary and if anything just distracts when you need to be focusing on those critters that are out to stop you from having a good time.
Well done and good luck!
PS: I got 82 cheeses, not sure what the record is :P
I like the graphics, but I think the controls need to be changed unless im missing something. Space / arrow keys / mouse requires 3 hands :)
Cool little game! The art is very nicely done and the SFX/music are perfect for it. I feel like you knew your limits and were able to keep the scope down in order to add a really nice amount of polish. After around 100 it seems impossible to continue though, you have to go from top to bottom in a very short time window, maybe the colliders could be a bit more forgiving. Maybe I just suck though :P
Great work, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress in the future!
Anyone beat 106?

Good job! The sound is really well done.
The hammer swing is nice, it would be nice if it was expanded a bit more so you had more options. Right now it's just whack-a-mole. It's a jam though, so I get there isn't much time. The smoothie and monster part art didn't resemble too much to me, but the rest of the art is great.
I wasn't sure what to do with the smoothies and money either.
Congrats and great work, best of luck :)
Nice artwork and congrats on finishing it! Could use some animations and I'm not sure if it was just my system but it was zoomed in a lot. I think especially for pixel graphics it helps to be zoomed out a bit more. I'm sure you learnt a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!
I too fell on the first platform :P

Audio and the parallax stars are a nice touch! It's very satisfying to shoot those little critters, just wish there was more to do. Great start for a jam game though!
Could use some animations for the workers, I couldn't tell if they were just standing there or actually working. The building graphics look great, and I like the concept. Maybe a bit ambitious for a game jam but at least you have something you can work with. I think it could be a fun game with some more development :)
+ The art and soundtrack are great! - The rope-swinging felt a little clunky
@kuro Thanks for the in-depth feedback and tips for the future! I agree on most of your points, I guess it's difficult to judge controls when you spend so much time adjusting that you naturally get used to them. I initially wanted a scoreboard, and others peoples crashed planes in the cave as well, but ran out of time (and had no idea how to implement it). Next jam I plan on getting familiar with some audio software beforehand! I'd love to hear what your numeric ratings were for it. Best of luck!
@sthealthinator looks like you had quite a bit of trouble getting over that hill XD
@dandy7 not sure why the game wasn't playing for you but I've now created a Windows build :)
@nardandas thanks for the feedback! I actually tried sooooo many different approaches on the physics but I found that very realistic physics just weren't that fun, or they were too difficult to control within the cave. That being said, there were so many changes along the way that I was thinking about revisiting the physics now that everything is more concrete, I agree that the plane not changing attitude feels weird.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@adil glad you guys enjoyed it! I've made it to 1000m once but 462 is pretty good as well. I find it helps if you really take it slowly once you get deeper.
@egercreator Thanks for the feedback!
The bug with the several planes has been pointed out, I just found out that I'm allowed to fix bugs after the jam so I will be sure to fix that one :)
There is a bit of music, but it's muted by default and very minimal. Ran out of time to produce sound effects though :(
@justcamh thanks for playing and the feedback was great!
@cheesepencil Thanks for playing! It was fun seeing you try it out and I'm glad you got it figured out.
Cool idea, I could see it being really fun once it gets fleshed out a bit more. Coins don't seem to do anything?
I would like it if there was something special about not being in drilling mode, so there's a bit of a choice to be made in which mode you want to be in. Right now, you can't really move outside of it so you just always want to go drill.
It would be nice if you could toggle to drilling mode in the air, or something to make movement a bit more fluid. It seems a little clunky when you stop after each time you exit the ground (the area with all the vertical single block segments was not fun because of this.
I had some pretty severe input lag and low-fps, is it possible to get a windows build?
Nice work! I like the lighting and the dirt particles. With a bit more polish it could turn into a nice little game.
I'd like to see different dirt tiles, maybe unbreakable, or difficult to break rocks, and the proc. gen. sometimes left long stretches 100% filled.
The controls could use a bit more flow, It's a little annoying if you're going down a slope and always having to completely stop to collect the gold.
Another improvement could be purchasing upgrades of course.
Congrats on completing and good luck!
@quantumseagull No problem.
I don't mean allowing the player to go back up. Actually maybe being able to jump up one or two spaces would be nice (but doesn't follow the theme as much).
I meant when you're going down at say a 45 degree angle, you can't keep your horizontal momentum but you have to fully stop in order to collect the gold. If the hitboxes were increased maybe it would help allow you to keep your momentum?
Nice hand-drawn art and the music works well with the theme.

Player 2 got stuck at the beginning :(
Not many 2 player games get made for these in these jams so +1 for that :)
