Oh dear, this is a bit embarrassing. Our programmer discovered that after packaging, some content that should have been translated into English wasn’t successfully translated. The corresponding entries do exist in the localization list, but they just weren’t successfully loaded. We’re currently fixing it.

Really strong entry, well polished! The art style is beautiful, and the chill music adds a great atmosphere. The animations were smooth and satisfying. The mechanics were enjoyable too, though I struggled a bit to grasp all the movements. Overall, a solid piece of work. Keep it up!

I think I beat it? After beating the third king, I have been sent back to the main menu. Even with some translation missing, this game makes a lot of sense. I enjoyed setting up for fights, although it took a couple tries to understand what the units do - I can't read the description or see what they do without using them first, which is a shame. Still no idea what the cannon does.

The way the mortar attacks is that it needs to have a piece in front of it in order to deal damage to the piece behind. I think we should add more visual guides (like using pictures instead of text descriptions) in the future non-jam version. Thanks again for your feedback!

有一点取巧的成分在里面,但是collector做个战棋出来好像也确实是合理的,鲜有人选但是很好的选题。

主要问题:开头一上来就让选还以为是buff原来全是debuff~~叽里咕噜说什么玩意呢和我的大运说去吧最后拿Rock给对面无脑风筝死了~~;消耗数其实取正数看着顺眼一点(消耗是正的然后王取负数或者直接写提供点数);pick新子只有拿到才知道这玩意干嘛的;如前面的评论所述的典型翻译不完全和中文版式问题(如下图)。

另外不是很熟godot,`steam_api64.dll`这个必需文件是干啥的~~而且在你们v0.6的包里面忘记封这玩意了导致我还是从v0.5的包里面CV了一个过来~~。

What an awesome twist! I remember the joy of playing 'shotgun king' on here - and this captures much of that same magic. An ancient game given an innovative twist that opens up the space to a much more video-game-friendly progression. Fantastic art, great music (but thank you for being honest about the timeline) and wonderful game design. Great work!

@akuta-zehy 事实上最早是想收集旗帜,并且棋子们是有物品可以装备上去的,我画了10个旗帜和20多个物品但是程序员来不及做了哈哈哈(也是我的问题,我太贪心了导致我想的很大,最后来不及做了) 拿到了才知道有什么问题这个确实,也是时间问题,我会在后续版本把它修复的,这个影响太大了(按道理它们应该显示在右边的框里才对,因为它们用的同一套棋子组件,可能是因为bug?) steam_api64.dll这个必需文件是因为我们前面跑过一个完成LD最后上steam的游戏,路径依赖所以我们想直接用steam的插件来做游戏这样最后直接可以用steam来给其他成员测试(虽然后面忙的焦头烂额也没弄了XD),结果我们导出网页版的时候发现steam的插件在导出H5页面的时候会出BUG就给删了,我去还好你提醒我!现在我去把这个东西加上! 我重新在留言板发东西了,如果您看不到的话我就直接发在这里啦!

Я сделал систему экипировки и ещё больше флагов, я даже уже дорисовал их, но программист не успел всё реализовать (это и моя вина — я был слишком жадным/амбициозным). I made an equipment system and more flags, and I even finished drawing them, but the programmer didn’t have time to implement them (which is also my fault, I was too ambitious). @wolderado Yes, since the pieces need to dodge ranged attacks from the enemy, I ultimately decided to make them move together. This way, I don't have to worry about allied pieces being more vulnerable to enemy attacks as their numbers increase and not having enough turns to dodge. Thank you for liking it! I also played your game, and it's truly impressive to create such a rich game in such a short amount of time. I really love the pixel-style 3D models!

Really cool chess minigame, it gets a bit overwhelming at the end with so many pieces, and the restriction of moving all your pieces together makes it a bit complicated to plan ahead, but fun to play nonetheless !

The audio cut out super early for me and i couldn't enjoy it too much

I kinda just went for full ranged start after witch the game felt too easy. The system is intresting but it feels like its not a startegy game or puzzle game and falls akwardly between them. I think it would be more fun if it went into a more either direction (startegy maybe). Since losing pieces is super punish just going ranged was way to go, would be more fun if the front line was cheap and expendable so i could maybe move more into enemies.

The game gives decent feedback so i kinda understood whats happening and thats important in more complex jam game like this, ofc its a endless road to make it more understandable but i think you got it nicely decent for the duration.

I was a little overwhelmed at first - but I got the hang of that at the end. I really suck at chess, but ranged combat seem to worked well for me.

Wish the screen was a bit less busy, and for some audio, but the art is very good and the idea is unique. Well done!

We originally planned a bigger system for collecting equipment, but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to finish it T.T

In the subsequent non-jam version, I plan to improve the balance by adding equipment—for example, some enemies equipped with special armor will be immune to the player’s ranged attacks. Our initial strategy was to use melee soldiers to block enemy ranged fire while using ranged units for offense, but perhaps this aspect wasn’t well conveyed. We will take your feedback and suggestions to make this game even better UwU.```

我玩的是web版的,刚刚发现还有这个问题Snipaste_2025-10-09_19-11-39.png好像是显示不太完全。玩下来感觉游戏底子不错,相当有策略性,如果继续更新改进下去再加上点别的系统会是个不错的肉鸽游戏,目前就我玩的这个版本而言,远程单位未免有点过于强力了,经常很容易凑出速杀敌方旗手的队伍,近战单位明显弱势,经常处于我打不到别人、别人不仅打的到我还可能直接能秒了我的尴尬情况(远程敌人强势在敌人强度上也有相同问题)或许可以分波次放出敌人和放置己方棋子应该能是一个比较适合的改动,非常期待后续玩法更新! 美术上个人感觉已经相当成熟了,非常的好。音乐音效上个人感觉目前游戏的这个音乐可能不太适合,另外玩的web版也有音乐只播放了一次就停了的问题存在。 还有个较大的问题可能存在,个人感觉可能游戏里的要素与这次gamejam主题相关度不是很高……

I love this game, I can totally see this working as the basis for a fully-fledged game beyond LD. Is it intended that all the pieces move together? I can see that when you move the standard bearer all the others move but it seems strange that when you move the bishops for example that everything moves diagonally with them.

关于远程单位的平衡问题,我在考虑通过降低它们的生命值或攻击力来削弱,或者在后续通过机制设计来平衡。分波次放置的想法确实不错,我之前还真没想到,我已经把它记到小本本上了。玩家这边做分波次相对容易一些,因为玩家可以手动控制进场时间;但敌人这边我一时还没想好怎么分波次。也许可以在敌人将要出现的格子上加一个预警倒计时作为提示。

音乐方面,目前应该已经修复了“音乐播放完就停”的问题。至于你提到的主题契合度,确实有点勉强。现在的版本只有收集旗子和旗帜的内容,原本还打算做道具收集,但因为时间关系没来得及。这一版其实是滑跪抢救的版本哈哈,所以正式版里我们会做很多改动和完善。

@void4 Yes, when you move the standard bearer, all the pieces move together. When you move other pieces, you can move in the way of those specific pieces—you’ll need to use this method to avoid the combat zones blocked by the enemy's castle and bishops! I like how the game looks and general idea of a battle game in a Chess Board.

Although it wasn't very clear to me that I only can move my whole army, and can't move singular pieces separately, despite the enemy being able to. There is definitely work to be done, if you want to develop this game further, on UI and tooltips to better explain the mechanics.

Great entry! I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing at first, so I placed my pieces a bit at random... Turned out to be a wining strategy as I kept the same pattern to reach the end! ^^ The one thing I am not sure is if our pieces always attack first or if the "speed" statistic of the enemies matter.

Nonetheless, a great entry, I had a lot of fun with it, congrats!

This was one of my favorite games so far!! I was a little confused about how to make turns happen (clearer instructions might be helpful...or the option to skip movement and execute a turn), but I really enjoyed having to decide what pieces to collect for my team--and the consequences of what pieces the opponent would get.

Could've used a tutorial or instructions in-game, but the game was simple enough to be figured out by brute force. Graphics were nicely done, but the font looked a bit weird as it probably wasn't meant to be this small.

At the start of each turn, all of our pieces will attack first, followed by all enemy units capable of attacking our side. This cycle repeats until either the opponent’s leader or our leader dies. But you’re absolutely correct that a tutorial would have been ideal, and I’ll take your suggestion into account. In the future official version, I’ll include a tutorial. I apologize for your experience with the font; I found that this was because the Godot game component on Ludum Dare doesn’t support fullscreen. Without fullscreen, the font appears a bit small. If I participate in LD again, I’ll try to upload a version that supports fullscreen on itch or other platforms. Thank you for your feedback.

this is great! really nice art. music is good, but some sound effects would be nice :) the gameplay is really interesting, ive seen lots of chess-inspired strategy games but none that have you moving all the pieces together. while it's a bit confusing at first, having different pieces let you move everyone in different ways adds a really interesting level of strategy that i havent seen explored in other games. the game seems well balanced, too! at least in the time i was playing, i only barely landed a win using some tricky positioning and ranged pieces. the banners felt a bit arbitrary, especially since you're forced to take all of them by the end anyway, but i like the idea of them. really nice work!
