GOOOOD IDEA

vertuga32 2019-04-29 19:19

Cool sounds - peep! Driving a ship and shooting is fun. The theme of the competition has not been disclosed.

goblinportal 2019-04-29 19:23

Upgraded the rate of fire and became really small, now nothing can kill me. :)

Great job.

badram 2019-04-29 19:33

I like it!, as Vertuga32 said, the sounds are good. the Intro is very slick, was a nice surprise. My biggest criticism is that the main menu isn't navigable using the listed controls, you need to use the arrow keys and enter which is not clear. The broadsiding battleship enemies were cool. The default unity blue border was a little ugly, would have been nice if the starfield extended beyond the play area and there were an energy fence or something. Great work on the music!

@badram @vertuga32 @goblinportal @mia-devs Thank you so much for the feedback! It really helps me as I'm a new jammer (this is my first Ludum Dare!). I would never have thought of the point about the main menu! I will pay your games a visit soon.

@jofersgames has successfully figured out the name. Clap clap.

I liked the music in the game, and I think the game was good, I enjoyed playing the game, and the gameplay itself was fun. What I would suggest is, that the blue border got another more dark and matching colour, and then that you could click the buttons in the main menu, other than that a super cool game. Well done.

Great controls and love the shootemupish feel to it. The red bullets are a tad small though.

I clicked on this game because the cover image looked kinda janky and the name was catchy... Boy am I glad I checked this one out. Super catchy music, beefy sound effects and great gameplay. The graphics are simple, but put the ships, enemies and explosions together and it feels very coherent, nothing in the game feels out of place. Great job with this entry, I had the most fun with this entry so far :)

notsoepicgames 2019-04-30 17:41

@drunk-wizard Thank you so much for checking it out! It's our first gamejam and we're so happy with how it went. We'll be sure to check out your game soon!

really fun music and solid gameplay. My only grip is that the ship is a bit hard to control. The updates add a lot and the varying enemies are cool. Nice job!

graal 2019-05-01 20:45

Maybe a bit less inertia would be fine. Also I expected that down key will accelerate starship to opposite direction, not just break (hey, it is space!) :) But playing this game and trying all the upgrades and investigating new enemies - all of that was very fun. Good luck, guys!

boxedmeatrevolution 2019-05-02 03:13

Lots of fun to play and try out all the upgrades! The difficulty really ramps up as time goes on. It goes from feeling like a game where you're hunting down lone ships, to more of a bullet hell. Explosion sound effects were a nice touch! Great entry

nico-fallosch 2019-05-02 09:47

Funny game, loved the flying remote controlls xD The intro was well made aswell good job! For me it was just a bit too difficult with the time x)

acactus 2019-05-05 21:01

this was an incredibly fun game! felt like a good arcade shooter. The graphics fit well with it. I liked that the upgrade stations were planets.

-putting all the different versions of the same file in one .ZIP was a bit odd, though it's not a very large game, so i guess it works out?

-including a splash screen intro was hillarious and good.

-i didn't really see how the theme was incorporated into this.
