LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Downbeat by AgentParsec 2015-04-20T20:06:00

I found the game very cool, and I particularly like the way your game uses the classic rhythm game-like gameplay. The only problem I had was that I initially did not understand how I could "match" the center command, in my opinion it could be stated better in the game description. Good job!

Hoi Polloi - The Majority by Riccardo 2015-04-22T16:01:00

I have plans (for a post-compo version) to add some twists to pigs' behavior, e.g., leaving the party, or voluntarly joining it ("surrender" would be the right word :D) I would also like to add a "rogue pig" that would be able to overturn the status quo once the main character has conquered the majority, by following his same behaviors.

luddegodofpain by luddegodofpain 2015-04-20T19:51:00

I did not expect the game to be soooo enjoyable! I particularly appreciated the music (amazing work, congrats; do you have a SoundCloud account?), and the physics-based movements let me do ninja-style jumps!

OI by orco 2015-04-19T19:25:00

Very intriguing and clever concept! It would be interesting to create a version with multitouch in mind: with one finger one can tap enemies, and with another finger he can drag the "main character" around.

UN Convention AL Weapon by coderkeith 2015-04-19T20:11:00

Ahahah, great idea, I loved it!

LD37 — One room

Stuffed Office by MFEP 2016-12-19T12:34:00

Great idea! I appreciated the particular attention to the graphics and how the controls are very simple to learn, and approachable also by non-gamers!

BoxBoxBox by Riccardo 2016-12-12T07:36:00

Hi redzero, thanks for passing by! In short, every movement that the box does at a certain moment in time (say, a unit movement to the right in the "past" room) is reflected in the future (i.e., a movement to the right in both "present" and "future" rooms). However, this doesn't allow the box to compenetrate any obstacles (and the management of these restrictions is what occuped most of my 2-day dev time!).

BoxBoxBox by Riccardo 2016-12-14T12:56:00

Can it be that by using A and D buttons you "cycle" among past, present and future? In that case, I admit that it is a little bit confusing, and indeed I have to update the build so that by pressing repeatedly A (respectively, D) you can only go in the past (respectively, in the future) without cycling.

LD42 — Running out of space

Skeleport by thristhart 2018-08-16T08:22:58Z

The game is plenty fun and engaging! I love the music and how it is simple to pick up and play. I just suggest to make the UI on top of the screen easier to read: given the fast pace of the game, it should be recognizable with a glance of an eye.

Passengers Tetris by Gao Ming 2018-08-20T12:22:33Z

Very funny game with an interesting twist on the classic Tetris idea! I liked the graphics a lot, and the gameplay is simple to understand. Well done!

Spatris by thebmxeur 2018-08-17T15:36:13Z

Very interesting idea, and implemented very well! Even without in-game instructions, after a few tries I was able to understand what was going on (a tutorial or a simple instructions menu would be a nice addition, though). Maybe a more "rhythmic" bgm would be more apt to the gameplay and visual style of the game, in my opinion.

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-15T15:02:09Z

@disco , @sarneh , thanks for your kind comments! Indeed, for the next jam I plan to have a better balance between presentation and gameplay, since this time I used a good portion of the 72 hours on the former rather than focusing on the latter. @sarneh , the goal of the game is to be able to reach the cone of light that shrinks with time - this is the connection between my game and the theme of the competition!

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-17T15:28:21Z

@ryanjavanshir , @thebmxeur , @geekdrums , @darkguardsman , thanks for you comments! I have just uploaded version 0.1.2 of the game with a working retry button.

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-20T11:10:12Z

@konsumopfer77 yes, you can actually reach the light, but it’s not an easy task ;) thanks for appreciating my game!!

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-20T13:53:32Z

@cristihkj , @demn , @psiv , thank you all for the positive feedback! :) Indeed, I focused a lot on shaping the mood of the game as I originally intended. @demn , the music is very basic at the moment, just a simple chord. I plan to continue working on it to make something like a more full-fledged BGM. Also, I really want to improve my particle game! :D As @psiv said, it's a little too rudimentary at the moment.

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-20T14:04:32Z

@demn thank you very much! keep an eye on the GameJolt page for the game! :)

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-21T06:44:47Z

@even-games thank you for your appreciation! @zuhairghias exactly! However, with that trick you'll never win! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Salvation* by Riccardo Sioni 2018-08-27T08:35:13Z

@demn , I have updated Salvation with a few changes (v. 0.2.0), also including a fine-tuning of the sound & BGM volume as you suggested! Feel free to comment and suggest further changes!

VOXSOLAR by geekdrums 2018-08-17T15:43:28Z

Absolutely fantastic! My favorite LD42 game to date!

Gunning Out Of Space by ytaha 2018-08-20T09:05:37Z

The basic gameplay is nothing new, but the "running-out-of-space" twist you added is very clever and well implemented! Terrific game, congratulations! :)

LectureRush by FooMar 2018-08-20T14:03:47Z

Very simple but effective idea! Well done!! By playing the WebGL build, I noticed that the "fullscreen" button sometimes cover the game instructions in the tutorial.

Random Access Memory by SaRNEh 2018-08-16T08:17:01Z

Great idea! However, I think it's confusing at first, as many others commented, but I'm sure that by playing a few more times it will all become clearer! Good work!! ;)

Evolucity - Build as high as you can! by Mazzletov 2018-08-21T06:56:28Z

What a clever idea! I especially liked the sound effects and the cohesive visual style of the game. Great work!

A Way Out by sdrrv 2018-08-20T14:47:27Z

Truly an interesting idea! Keep up the good work for your next games!!
