Really cool concept for a game here but I had some trouble first understanding how to get the ball back to the other side then achieving it was a whole other issue. Really great graphics and the idea behind the game is really fun. I hope you had a good game jam!
I started to get the movement after a while, but it was odd that I couldn't move in air after I jumped. Pretty difficult because of the movement. I still found it quite fun though, hitting a spike was crazy fun, and the audio was super nice. Great job!
This is actually really fun and tight once you get used to it! I would maybe explain the controls better, I didn't realize at first that charging a shot in mid air would spike it, or that I could adjust my jump direction while charging. Also the font was so bulky it was borderline illegible on my computer, though that might just be a windows thing. Once the gameplay clicked though, it felt excellent! The animations are very smooth, and the communicated what was going on very well. Overall, very good!
Wow I'm actually blown away at how fun and simple this idea is. And the execution is flawless. The smashes were incredibly satisfying, and the game fits the theme well. Congrats.

Really fun game here, can't believe that only one person made this. If this was an online multiplayer game I would love to play it with my friends. Overall one of my new favs this game, great job!

Oof. I absolutely LOVE the graphics, but gameplay is a chore - the timing is too tight and the controls are too clumsy. The complete and total lack of air control means it's almost impossible to spike the ball unless you launch it straight up.

Cool and stylish, and it feels awesome to slam the ball too! Maybe it will be easier if the player can hit the ball automatically while jump.
Love love love the visual and general feel. There's good polish and everything has weight. Took me a bit to understand the mechanics but they also work pretty good. My only nitpick is that i wish there was a dedicated jump button, as jumping with up feels just a tiny bit too finicky. That said, great game!

Really cool! I love the visuals. I'm terrible at it, but I feel like it should be a good game to play multi. Well done.

This is really well done! Definitely digging the graphics and the vibe, reminds me a lot of Lethal League. I feel like not being super locked into to your jump would give you more control and let the game be a bit more frantic, since letting you get more back and forth would really lend to the party feel of the game.
Right now it feels real bad to have to overcommit to jumping really high to get any power of your hits, and missing a ball means having to charge on the ground to launch the ball so you can even spike it. That all takes a while - the process of even launching the ball back is a hefty timesink. Maybe if you could do a weak launch towards the opponent's field as a more instant "panic" option it'd feel better? Right now setting the ball up to launch it is a pretty technical process.
Either way, the only reason I have so much pointed feedback is because I LOVE this concept, it's really good! I hope you get to revisit it after the jam ends!
This is such a fun experience, there's just a few balancing things were the balls landed on the floor and I wasn't sure what to press to launch it back over and the big jump was a bit high and I couldn't tell how high I was gna go, but these are not complaints, just like I understand these are things that would get solved during play testing. But overall a super fun experience.
This is a really impressive entry. Nicely polished. It looks really great. Nice animations and colour choices that really make you feel the action. It's really fun too.
It took me a bit to get the hang of it, but then that AI didn't see me coming :muscle: :volleyball: :

If I were to pick at it a bit, as others wrote, I felt a little locked when jumping. The way it is, there's a little more foresight needed, and that's good too, but I often wanted to move a little bit to get to the ball after I've jumped.
I don't know how the game does with 2 players. I should think it's easy to "trap" the opponent, but have 2 balls, and the very short timing to hit the ball, if there is (I'm not sure) a super strategy, you made good things against that.
It's difficult at the beginning, but it works well, and the AI too. Good design, very satisfiying when we success hits, it was a pleasure !
Bu sorry, the font has its style, but it's often barely readable.
Great work. I will try it with an other player if I can !

Now that's a polished game! The controls are hard at first but it's very satisfying to learn new techniques, managed to beat the AI on my second attempt. Only complaint is that the ball expiration sound is mixed too loud, especially infuriating when I take a loss of two points in a round :D
I think you've created a really cool atmosphere and visual style with the game. Everything works together really nicely. To be honest though I just can't get the controls, they never really seem to do what I want and that's probably because the holding mechanic is pretty awkward. That said though, the animations, the music, etc is super well done so good work!
