I liked the game, but the levels got very hard very quick. I would have liked some more levels with medium difficulty.

syrapt0r 2018-08-14 14:21

I like the idea of the game and I think it worked very well. The first few levels gave a fantastic introduction to the mechanics. Without explaining anything in text I was able to understand what the different tiles were doing. The difficulty spiked up way too quickly for me though, so I wasn't able to get through the later levels ^^ Good game!

I liked the twist on sokoban you have here. It was simple enough to figure out through gameplay, which is always a plus. I like the visuals and overall think you did a great job. Nice work.

A classic revisited ! Game is good and the theme fits perfectly for it. I think it would have been better if you had added a soundtrack to the game; I ended up restarting some levels a lot of time and it would have suited the thing very well. I think the problem isn't about difficulty spike but more about the fact that your game is very punishing. You can collect 5 coins and unlock 5 doors, but if you fail to do the last one, you have to do it all over again, which makes the game quite tedious. Levels are quickly getting supra big and one failure means 1 minute of just pushing keyboard arrows. Apart from that, you made a nice work, good job !

At first I wasn't impressed, but the levels ramped up in a hard puzzle type fashion and I could defitely feel like this would be an app that people puzzled over on their phones. Well done.

A very very good puzzle game based on sokoban. Very good level design that I felt the later levels was just hard enough to make me really think about how I should do and it introduced the new puzzle elements in a good and easy to understand way.

interesting game. I remember an old game that did the same as this one so it is cool to see how it is developt. I think you can even make more levels out of this. puzzles games are fun to play. some of the levels are somewhat difficult but that is tried and error a couple of times.

pla 2018-08-17 15:43

Nice fit on the theme! Also I liked how you explained the rules with some levels. There could be some levels with medium difficulty, and undo option.

Thank You guys for Your great feedback! I will consider all of the things You have pointed out and most likely add them in Postjam updates.

@syrapt0r @rother-games @dragongino I had in plans adding medium difficulty levels during the jam, but after implementing game mechanics I found out that I don't have enough time. But I plan adding more levels(medium also obviously) Postjam.

@demn @pla I will consider making mechanics(in Postjam update) , that moves player back for example 5 blocks if he's stuck. Or at least mechanics that will solve this problem.

@demn I struggled during the event to make some music, but I couldn't. I'll try for sure making some decent sounding 8-bit music Postjam.

@corqi I think this will make your game a lot more exciting ! Good luck :)

I really enjoyed this game, even though it is not the first one with such gameplay that I see in this jam.

I don't think the difficulty spike is that much a problem of difficulty (I even thought all levels were pretty straight forward), but of size. A single mistake at the very end of a big level forces you to start over, even if you understood the begining of the level. Maybe shorter levels, or smaller parts linked with a checkpoint system would be more forgiving, and would better keep players engaged.

However, the mecanics were introduced through levels, and not through a tutorial, which is really nice (and you feel smart understanding it). So that's a huge quality. And each level (at least in the begining) was built around a new concept.

Plus the game was rather cute ^^

Keep it up !

I'm not one to normally run a file named "cryptovirus.exe" .. but I'm glad I did. The ramp up of the difficulty was a bit rough imo, but still enjoyable. Adding mechanics and their introduction in gameplay as you progress I'm a big fan of, and you did this quite well.

Nice work overall!

I beat all the puzzles! Most of them are very easy because they're overconstrained... there's a lot of information from the fact that you can only visit a tile once. The last one did take me a few tries. The most frustrating thing about this game is lack of undo, since it's easy to make a misstep and have to start over, and it's kind of slow going since a lot of the levels have long corridors you have to walk down. The "virus" theme was funny to me :)

endurion 2018-08-18 13:18

Sensitive :)

With a few little extras. Great idea. The difficulty jump is jarring! Maybe on the later levels removed unneeded long corridors. The goal should be solving the puzzles. Well done!

The last Escape back to the menu didn't seem to do anything, so I had to Alt-F4 out of the game.

nate-wec 2018-08-19 00:46

PLEASE ADD A GO BACK TURN FEATURE... I got frustrated by making ONE, ONE little mistake. But other than that I like what you did with the whole pushing boxes mechanic, I especially like how you themed it to viruses SO well that my computer's in built anti virus said IT WAS a virus. So good job... and the difficultly wouldn't be so bad if you could just go back a couple of turns rather than starting the level over again.

daniel-rincon 2018-08-19 00:49

I enjoyed your game a lot, it has a great learning curve with a very fun gameplay, nice graphics and sfx, i can only complain about the lack of music but overall a great game, congratilations! Keep it up!

keyurrana 2018-08-19 09:34

Very nicely done. I love how you put a small straight forward level to introduce a mechanic. The last level took me a few tries, but I enjoyed it a lot. Found one little bug, not sure if it was intended, but walking on a door tile makes the door disappear and the tile will become unusable, even the key won't work there.

Overall, Great job!

zuhairghias 2018-08-19 14:08

Good puzzles. Had me thinking.

rngsilvercraft 2018-08-20 20:32

This looks like those old-school PC games that I'm not that familiar with. The well-designed gimmick and puzzles really make this game stands out ! Good job~

veilastrum 2018-08-21 02:05

The puzzles in this game were pretty well designed. A breather level in between to introduce a new panel type followed by a challenge afterwards that's not ridiculously hard yet still challenging. Great job!

Pixel games have never been something exciting or at least a little attractive for me. I believe that there are things that are made with a bigger soul. For example, collectible cards that made https://myimpactpower.org/ . I advise you to read more information about how you can implement the received unique cards. I think everyone will want to contribute to the development of this company, and also understand how it works in general. Read more about it now, if you want to. I think that would be not superfluous to you.
