The initial audio was a bit too loud and dont know if it was my browser or intended but clicking the formula did nothing for the a few seconds.

Nice game for a jam. It may be because I have played some similar gravitational games but it took me some time to figure out how the gravity changed (at first I though it changed on jump). Pysics feel odd sometimes but overall I think it is good.
The cape phyiscs were a really nice touch of polish, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it react! I also found the voice over to be a nice touch at adding to the atmosphere.
Liked the extra polish of some of the vfx, but felt the tolerances on most jumps were too tight with imprecise controls. Not sure whether it's intentional that jumping while touching the green blocks caused them to jump matching the player.
I enjoyed the regular gravity-switching mechanic. I turned the audio off due to the bit at the start of the level being very loud (although that's probably partly the fart of my headphones), but then without audio I kept not knowing why I had died, since there's no visual indication of the moment at which I died, and the restart is delayed by a bit. I eventually figured out what I was supposed to be avoiding, though, and was able to have fun and finish the level.
The cape adds some nice juice, and I liked the background landscape as well. It looks a little weird to be walking in the sky as though there's a flat surface there; maybe the game would be more visually coherent if set in a hallway?
Overall, a decent first Ludum Dare entry!
Good job!
Had trouble clicking on the formula to start. It only seemed to be clickable when facing forward and I had to wait for it to come around.
Oh man. This game was rough haha. But I persisted and got through!! The box that follows you is just *mean*.

Overall, pretty good game! I would try to get some other people to play it during the jam to help you judge how difficult the game is, which would help you balance it better. A lot of people coming through to rate your game might not spend that much time trying to get through a difficult section if they find it too hard.
Something that might be nice to have is some checkpoints too, so that way you still felt a sense of progression as you went through even if you die later.
Oh, I quite liked the audio by the way! The voices were cool! How did you get the voice of the person saying "Albert Einbox has landed?"
@jezzamon I recorded myself and then used Adobe Audition to edit the voice. Thanks for the review!
That was epic! Awesome entry! Great use of the theme. Also love the audio and radio in the background. Really added to the mood!
Fun game! I love the programmer art and the audio too. Fun concept and it plays really well. good work!
Funny game. Congrats for the audio and the gravity mechanics, and your use of the theme.
Nice game! My only complaint is that the controls are difficult to get used to. For example, you have to let go of the spacebar after jumping else you might double-jump off the top of the green guys. But the unstable gravity concept is a good use of the theme, and I liked the humor and especially the music. Good job!
This game was really complicate for me to handle, but I had fun.
At the beginning I didn't understand what was killing me. Touching the yellow box I suppose? My incomprehension is due to the delay between touching the yellow box and dying. The delay is a tiny bit too long and it prevented me to corelate the action to the result.
The gravity changing is a nice touch and the audio is really good.
@togis I'm not sure if you had your audio on, but the delay is in order to have a death sound effect play.
Really cool audio and humorous game! I tried a couple of times, but couldn't really get the hang of it. I think what most confused me was the death-condition. If it was clear to me what triggered the level resets, then I'd might have gotten a bit further.
Cool idea though and welcome to LD! Hope you had a blast.
This game was hard but a had a good time!
@maximus mmmm good to know. I had the audio but I guess I didn't realize
