Really Cute!
I saw a hamster and thought "I need to play this game!" This game is very beautiful and cute and the need to know when to run makes the game very interesting.
Main menu picture is really nice
Cuteness overload
I can't believe this is the first hamster wheel game I play this LD. The theme fits so well here! Also, very cute hamster animations. And the game is fun, I actually played all the way through. I lost some time trying to figure out what I was actually supposed to do with the key, but maybe it was my fault. Obviously keys unlock stones, d'oh!
Did you make the music yourself? It adds nice flair too.
I love the walking animation!!!!!!!! i was soooo cuteeee. the level design its solid, maybe a little bit more of camara zoom would help the player understand the puzzle. Also the the physics where weird, maybe a bit more gravity.
physics are fun , make me feel like a hammy in space!
Really cute visuals, and moving the hamster wheel around and between platforms feels good!
Unfortunately I think the the camera could do with some work to improve the enjoyability of actually navigating the levels. The hamster+wheel take up a lot of the screen's space and the camera simply following it doesn't leave much space for crucial gameplay information, like platforms and the rock. Takes a few inevitably fruitless tries just to get a clear mental map of the later levels.
Thanks for the great feedback, glad everyone loves the art and found it fun to play.
We all agree the camera would allow more vision and make the game better, I'd considered zooming it out more, but the fact its hard to see where the level goes increases the challenge, otherwise creating really complex level design would have been required, but within the competition time we couldnt.
Pretty cute with the stubby legs running around!! Graphics are adorable. Objective is really clear, and visuals cues are on point.
I feel a bit floaty sometimes so hard to tell where to land but still had fun rolling around (nooo the keys are not at the right place T_T).
I can see this game playing on an ipad or getting a version for kids with puzzles. BTW, you should have enable an option to vote for audio the track is perfect.
@binaryprinciple I agree with you, but we didn't want to be unfair and admit ourselves into a category for which we did not do any of the creation. These are free to use sounds and music that we didn't create and we acknowledged that by opting out of the category.. You can add your support to how they work to the overall, humour, fun and mood categories in spite of that though! :D We did spend a long time trying to make everything fit together well :)
Cool game. The floaty movement really adds a degree of complexity to an otherwise simple concept.
When you push that key off the ledge and miss the rock by a few millimetres, though...........
Love the music and art. Good work!
This is so cute! And I really liked the difference in the platform!
Very cool idea! Good job! :top:
Cute and the art style is just amazing!
It's very cute, but I feel the movement is too floaty and the key mechanic is a tad frustrating when you have it stuck in the hay.
The artwork is nice though :)
Aww the art work is adorable. Nice job! :)
Lovely art style and a cute concept! Feedback regarding gameplay, the gravity and acceleration need to be increased, the movement is a bit floaty and lacks that responsive feeling.
A very cute game with an even cuter hamster! The movement feels a bit sluggish and trying to control where the key falls is a bit of a frustrating experience.
Good physics based puzzle design! It's not a trivial thing to do, congrats! The hamster seems to shake a bit if you slow down to a stop.
A special award goes to anyone who can beat my highscore :D chrome_OO2A04UrkI.png
So, the platforming feels very floaty, as if that hamster is on the moon or something. You managed to built a pretty good game around that, however! There are some interesting platforming puzzles in here. I also like that you did not include a jump, that forces the player to use the existing platforms to the fullest.
I found it a little frustrating that you can't really know where the rock is without falling all the way down. And at that point you usually need to reset because the key is stuck in the hay. Some indication for the rock location would be helpful, like you have in the last level with the rightmost tube.
Also, cute art!
This is cute, and I actually liked the floaty feeling. The main difficulty came from not knowing the layout of the level which felt a little frustrating. Adding something like a minimap, or showing the full level at the beginning might help with that. But overall this worked really well and was pretty fun, so great job!
Your game is nice and I like the menu graphics, I miss some sound. Good job. (I also made a game about a hamster)
This is a nice take on a sort of get the key for the gate platformer.
Building up momentum for the jumps is satisfying and breaking the bubble for the key without getting it stuck adds a good level of challenge.
I'm usually not a fan of platformers, but yours has great art and a nice unique mechanic to keep it interesting. Great Work!
Very cute game about a fluffy hamster. I love the design and sweet home-like mood. Would be perfect for childrens game! The gameplay is not boring while being very simple to grasp around. Good job!
Very cute graphics!
Very cute and fun gameplay. Would love if Hammy the Hamster could come over for a playdate sometime with Phil the Hamster in the game I did ;)
Super cute and very good mechanics!! Good job!!
Incredibly cute artstyle :3
Love the creative key-mechanic introduced in later levels aswell!
Cute :)
It wasn't clear to me how I was supposed to use the key. I was trying to aim the key at the lock image in the air. I thought that breaking the bubble on the rock was bad since the key disapeeared. But eventually I realized that I have to break the bubble to "collect" the key.
For the next level, the key fell through the rope ladder a few times, I'm not too sure how the physics are supposed to work. But moving slowly seemed to work.
It would be nice if the camera was further out so that I can see where I am aiming.
I made it to a really large level (where there are like 4 levels of platforms below where you start), but I stopped there.
