Movement felt good (except for moving platforms), and I enjoyed collecting all the flags.
This could actually be a great way of learning the flags of the world. Imagine each country has their own level with their own visual theme and music, and you run around collecting that country's flag. I could see myself playing that, and learning something subconsciously.
Good job, and great idea.
Also feel free to check out my platformer submission.
A solid platformer, nice! I had fun playing yours. Some feedback I have:
- I think the game looped around when all flags are collected, or did I miss some empty spots on the map? - Love the music, its catchy - The movement was well done and I loved the doublejump. I feel however, that the platforms could use some tweaking: making the player stick to it would be a natural thing - Some placement could have been better. Sometimes I was standing on a platform, not knowing where the next would be. I believe the correct term is a "trumpjump"? Where the player prays for the best and jumps into the unknown hoping there is a platform down there - This game could use some variation. Just a color-shifted version of the grass plateaus does wonders in my opinion. I think such think would take not that long to implement - I loved how the progress is shown in a map of 'murica!
@wouter52 Thanks for playing my game, it is greatly appreciated.
The game did loop, I only made 4 levels but I needed 10 to get all the flags
The placement could be better. I did make it where you could permanently die as part of the discovery was jumping off something and then seeing what was next
The game could definitely use a lot more variation.
I really appreciate the critique. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to play
@f2 The platforms need a lot of work. I was getting into a time crunch so I just kind of stuck a StaticBody2D and hand coded the movement.
Thanks for playing, it is really appreciated
@edali Thanks for playing. The music was a great part of the game and I found it on this really cool website. The link is in the itch.io page
Fun! and those blind jumps are brutal, especially on the level with the tall vertical moving platform. The movement felt good and I enjoyed collecting them all. As a sidenote you can use AnimatableBody2D with extends the StaticBody2D and works as you think it does when updating it for a moving platform :)

@artificer Heck yeah!! Thanks for the great programming tip. That is just excellent.
Thanks for posting the end of the game too. It is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for playing
Nice entry! You added some mechanics like sliding platform and blind jump, this is fun to play. I had a great time reaching all the flags! Congrats!
@flying-butter-studio Thank you for playing the game. You had a great game!
The movement is very responsive with a particularly well done camera. Like the background music and the flag collecting concept is a great idea. I wish I could see the particular state flags during gameplay or perhaps have another counter indicating which flags I am close to earning. The large map of flags was a great addition. Great work!
I was going to add a counter for how many flags needed to be collected for each level, How many flags were needed to complete the game. I was going to make it so each level had its own set of flags it would get instead of using the American flag.
I was going to have it so you could click on the map and you would get a blow up of the flag and maybe some trivia.
I was going to do a lot of stuff but three days goes by quick.
Thanks or playing my game and thank you for the critique. God Bless Brother
Very cute! Movement and jumping feels great, and nice to get an opportunity to admire some state flags.
Challenging and simple, I spent some time playing and I really liked it. The art is really beautiful and I have to say I loved the soundtrack, Great job!
I like the blind jump part and the player is bouncy. Simple but nice entry!
Nice simple platformer! Kinda repetitive and lacking new mechanic as game progresses. That being said, it's a nice start in game making. Just don't forget to remove leap of faith situations and add randomized flags for variations.
@bloodbane Thanks so much for playing my game. Might add more levels. Make it easier to wee where you need to go rather than crossing your fingers. Variety is good.
Thanks for the suggestions!
@akuta-zehy Thanks for the input! Glad you like the game
Very cute. Some simple yet interesting level designs. Would have liked to click on each state to go to a different level. Could be cool to expand to a full 50 levels with the flags of each state and selectable locations on the country map.
@bobap Thanks for playing my game. Greatly appreciated. I really wanted to do a level for each state. I might go back and do that.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Very funny! I like this music)
@tweekus Thanks for playing, really appreciated
Fun game, the music was really nice and made me want to keep playing.
Also I don't know if the platform movement was intended to behave that way but I found it really interesting (in a good way) that you have to manually move with it instead of it moving your character for you.
Great snappy controls with nice music, although levels could be more varied.
@vladimperator Thanks for playing. I wish I had the time to make more levels. I had some good ideas and a boss at the end would have been nice. Maybe next jam.
Thanks for the comments!
Fun game, one small i ran into is i can't see the platforms when they are below me so I just jump hoping there is a platform and i wont miss it.
@robert18 Thanks for playing my game!! Yeah it was kind of meant to be like that, leap of faith sort of. That is why I made it easy to restart the level, if you fall then no penalty, just start again. That is also why I had no lives you could lose.
Now what I should have had was an arrow pointing the way, and a counter of how may flags were needed to finish the level. But three days, yeah, I was just wasn't fast enough
Screenshot 2025-10-10 184415.png A solid platform! I wonder if Ameracia will have more states were the game was designed with more levels. The sound of jumping is little bold but still interesting.
I was really easy to lose sight of next platform due to the screen limit. I don't know this is a bug or design, but that not friendly.
@gwhyang Heck Yeah, you finished it, nice job!!!
I was thinking of making 1 level per state flag and gathering that state flag for each level.
The blind drop was actually meant to be. There are no lives to lose and it is easy to restart the level if you jump and die. Part of the strategy is to jump and look as you are falling.
Thanks again for playing. Imagining someone playing my game and having fun is pretty awesome!
Congrats on a nice platformer, feels solid and is fun to play. I have a couple of remarks. Some platforms take a long time to move into position, and all you can do is wait. Also, I often had to take blind leaps because I can't see what's below me.
@loveapplegames Hey there!! Thanks for playing my game, it is really appreciated. No matter how I score in the jam its the fact that my peers have played my game and comment on it. Its great.
You are right, the platforms are too slow, and you have to kind of move along manually rather than the player just staying on the platform.
The blind jump was kind of a game mechanic. I didn't add lives to the player and made it easy to restart the level so the blind jump was for the player to look around and see where they need to go next, then start the level over. You are not the only one to mention the blind jump. Nest time I will figure another way to find the path, maybe some arrows, signs, something.
Nice platformer. I loved the "boing" sound. The only thing I didn't like was how it was sometimes impossible to see where to jump next. A lookahead button could save that.
@flying-dog-fish Thank you for playing the game, it is always fun to read the comments. Several others have mentioned that a blind jump was kind of hard to deal with. I am definitely taking that into consideration the next platformer I make. Thank you for your input, it was most welcome.
nice platformer! Collecting flags was a neat idea
@blackcat508 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Making a game alone, even a very simple one, is a lot of work.
You have my respect.
Congratulations!
@euler-moises Thanks for playing my game, it is greatly appreciated. Good luck in all your projects!!
Amazing work! It’s super interesting and has a vert unique way to paraphrase the theme, good job! And welcome to give our game a try! :)
