Really good looking game. I would like it more if you improve dialogues
Hey @watermelonandme! Thank you for playing our game, what would you improve in the dialogue?
@jvdwijk, i'd like them to be more detailed
Any chance for a web or Mac build? Sounds interesting!
@avatargreggles we are working on both, in unity 2020 is an error that makes web builds a bit.. broken? So we are trying to downgrade and see if that works ^^. I'll notify you once it's here!
Thank you so much! @jvdwijk So excited to check yours out, please do let me know when it's available! And if you have time, I'd love a play of my entry too <3
@avatargreggles we got it working, thank you for your patience!
Visuals are on point! Game could do more with storyline development like having more in-depth dialogues. Overall great work!
@jvdwijk Amazing! Just a heads up the link is missing the first two letters in https!
Hi! The link to the web build is not working for me :(
@melvinng Thank you melving! We are thinking about continuing the game a little to add more interesting dialogue (for example when you hear a clue you can ask about that) and maybe some minigames? :o
@avatargreggles Thank you for playing! Thanks for the heads up again ^^ @simone the link should now be working!
i had alot fun! thank for this awesome work.
Really really cool! :) I laughed out loud when I met one of the peoples sons, and he was too small for his head to reach the sprite box hahahah! Super funny!
Awesome game, great concept, fun, nice graphics & sound. You can feel the effort / love that went into this. IF I may suggest something, I think it would be useful to have some visual feedback / indication when you have clickable text options. But that's a very small detail. Well done :D
Whoah lots of kind words here! Had a lot of fun working on this project as well! @jvdwijk :)
@mrstari @sarafilipa Thank you for playing the game, we really enjoy the kind words! Sara, about the visual feedback: We definately want to add this in a future update, to make the dialogue system even better. Thank you for the tip!
@krzykillax Definitely Mike, it was very fun to create something with all of you!
groovy game! thanks!
Cool game, I enjoy murder/mystery style games so this was right up my alley! I like the dialogue, can be pretty funny at times :D
Fun game, liked the Cluedo-style gameplay.
Thank you for the nice words @eugenik @alexunz and @digital-bacon we very much appreciate it!
Interesting take on the theme, love the sprites but the 3D not so much. Like the music. Every day the hints seem to be the same so decided to kill a random guy and I escaped the loop...
@digitaldude555 lmao, you got lucky! the hint is randomly selected per game, but stays the same each next loop. Thank you for playing and the feedback!
Despite having a peculiar graphics, the game has a really interesting core gameplay, it can be a full game in the future. Well done.
Thank you for playing @tricky-fat-cat! We wanted to go for a very boardgame like look with the characters! (thus the chess piece look). Thank you for the kind feedback!
I like the Cluedo-like mystery game, and the theme is well used, with the decaying dialogues the more loops you're in. The chara design is fun and the pixel art sprites are well done, but the overall 3D aesthetic was a bit rough. good entry overall :)
Good job on the mystery game. I liked the pixel art of the characters and the music
Neat! Love the board-game presentation.
It was a nice game, the music was nice. I had a suspicion of who it was from the start but it did take me a while to confirm it. Good work overall!
Very interesting idea but it seems a bit too ambitious for a game jam. I managed to get enough information to kill the person on the first loop every time (and I belive I got every possible clue). The only time I was wrong was with the "This person lies about their child" or something like that hint but after I failed I knew the answer through process of elimination. Still a really cool game!
Very neat interactive game!
@frigow Thank you! I feel like proper lightning would fix a lot of the 3d elements in the game but I do agree that we could up the visuals on that a bit! Glad the dialogue decay got noticed well! We also put in some extra decay features which are less noticable but still nice to have ^^ Thank you for playing!
Thank you for the nice comments, appreciate it a lot! @roboshamit @samdwester and @meatball
@indieronin Thank you for playing Ronin! I do wonder who your target was, hope you had fun!
@lamossus I do agree it was a bit of a big project for a jam game, from the start we were considering what would make a fun gameplay loop and ended with this. Bit difficult to balance it in three days but we still had a lot of fun ^^ Thank you for the feedback!
It was a really fun game, the art style matched the the setup, a bunch of unique characters and to find a target within loops. The random target in each play-through did add replay-ability to the game.
I played the game in 2 ways, - 1 was to follow the leads and find the target, loops were not needed tbh. - 2 was to use loops as HP and kill random people, had low chance but since there is no event based lock we can sometimes kill the first person and get lucky, or run out of loops, which happened more often. Also the penalty didn't feel punishing enough to avoid doing this :P
The loops didn't really felt more than HP. Maybe with few event based scenarios and a bit dynamic story, you can use the loops in a better way to add more richness to the story.
The dynamic music was a nice touch and really added a lot of flavor to the mix.
The dialogue system was good for a jam, but had major flaws, The characters had fixed dialogue sequences, so when I get to a point where there are 3 names X, Y and Z. If I want to know about X then after the sequence is done, the dialogue restarts, leading to introductions every time we talk to them, which led to hilarious but soon annoying moments like "you are late" every time I talk to the kid, even when the time changes.
That being said, I congratulate the entire team for making such an amazing game. I wish the entire team best of luck for their future projects!
Nice game! I'll admit the 3d was a bit weird, maybe that was too ambitious for a jam. I also think the theme leveraging might have been a bit limited since as others pointed out, you could totally figure things out without looping with some luck. Nonetheless, I see the intent and its even the kind of game I initially wanted to make. So it was nice to see it in action.
@kaafirookie dang that's a lot of feedback! thank you very much for playing our game!
The loops were first a lot more.. restrictive. They only took 90 seconds in total and kept going while reading. Because this became very stressful for the testers we decided to make this a lot easier, because the premise of our game is finding the target. In the future we want to rework the loops so that there could be more to do in each loop (like making someone angry which causes them to refuse talking to you).
There's still a lot to be done on the dialogue too, a lot more interaction, some text visuals and some other stuff. We are still looking at what could make our system special and fun to play with ^^
Thanks again for all the feedback!
@joh we first had our loops a lot shorter and difficult, but for playability we made this a lot more player friendly which unfortunately this made the loops fade a bit into the background (for now).
Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback! We really appreciate it ^^
I loved the main mechanic of trying to look for clue for the identity of who we must kill This mystery vibe was very pleasant. The fact that there was several musics according to the time/location was also something I found impressive ^^
Great looking game! Had a hard time until I realized that dogs is not the animal haha!
Nice idea and a very good looking game.
I killed the first person I saw and won the game instantly :)
Really love the idea although as many have mentioned you can usually nail the suspect on the first loop. Making the characters board game pieces was a smart decision, but the art definitely some nicer lighting and shading. I think it'd be pretty useful if each character had their name under their portrait although I guess figuring out everyone's names is part of the challenge.
@inferture Thank you for the kind words!
@trypants Thanks for playing our game! Had a lot of fun watching you play ^^
@flying-dog-fish Thank you! You got lucky lmao
@smarto-club Thanks for the feedback! We definately want to add better lightning and such to improve the look ^^
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

Thank you for playing our game @elysiagriffin! It was very enjoyable seeing you play through it ^^ Love how you knew who your second target was when you read the hint lmao. All of our music was made by @krzykillax!
@jvdwijk Youre welcome! I wish I could have given it a proper playthrough (end of stream, hunger setting in LOL), but wanted to at least give it some play time and Im glad that I was able to figure out who the killer was haha :D
@elysiagriffin I just watched your playthrough and found it very entertaining! Yea I composed all the musical things for the game! It was a fun experience. @jvdwijk
Great Game. Finally made it after the third try. Sometimes the controls are weird but for a game made in a few days, it's a great job!
I like the idea a lot. It is nice that everyone has opinions on everyone else. I think one of the toughest parts for me was figuring out everyones name based on a kind of vague description (except Joost). You would think at a party the first thing someone would do is introduce themselves, how rude these people are (except Joost). I think it would have helped a great deal if there name showed up in the 'E to Talk' box or under their portrait after the first time you spoke with them.
I did encounter a small bug with the web build where I can't actually move unless I fullscreen it. Probably a unity or web build thing more than anything else though. It has happened with a few unity games this jam for me.
Overall great job!
You have a lot of tracks there! I liked them and how you change them smoothly between rooms. The game is a bit rough, especially visual side.
I'm not really in this kind of gameplay where you have to read much, but I managed to reach the end. Since I'm not into them my suggestion could be a bit off, but I think the sheer number of options could be a bit too much! You had like 10 options for every guest lol
As always, it's still an accomplishment to complete a game during a jam, keep it up!
weird game, the lack of shades made it super creepy looking, loved it :D I like it that 8 people worked on this game as well :ghost: good job
This game was pretty damn ambitious for a jam game, but you guys made it work. There is a lot of dialogue to go through, and after a while I think I just didn't read it all anymore, so I wasn't able to kill the right person. I did really like the fact that you scramble the words more and more as you progress through the loops. It's a really cool concept, and maybe if it was all made a little more compact and quick, it could be really damn fun. Good job on the entry, and good luck in the future!
Very fun Jam game! I got really into it and tried to solve all the murders but there was one hint that I only got once throughout my ~30 playthroughs so I never figured out who was looking for their missing friend
The only issue I have with the game is how playing it only once is enough to solve all the hints in subsequent playthroughs, but I guess that's just a consequence of the limited time. You guys did manage to include a lot of dialogue in the limited time frame so great job there.
While I enjoyed the game and would definitely enjoy a more fleshed out experience, I think for this game jam a different game mode would have been a lot more appropriate. Instead of trying to find one person and kill them, you could have given the player a list of the hints, and then tasked them with figuring out each NPCs role. Who hates dogs? who is a secret serial killer? who is lying about their kid? and at the end of the loop, give a score based on how many they got right.
I think this would have worked better for the game jam simply because it would allow you to get the most out of the limited dialogue. In my first playthrough, I read all the dialogue and learned as much as I could about the characters and was able to kill the one NPC and win the game. When I played again, I realized I didn't have to talk to anyone since I already knew what they were gonna say so I just ran around the house killing people based on what I already knew about them. I did have fun solving the hints, but it felt weird restarting and running straight to an NPC just to kill them over and over again which is why I think it would be better to have asked me to find answers to all the hints during my first playthrough.
But either way it was a fun experience and I enjoyed the very weird and quirky dialogue.
A job very well done considering the time. I was really interested (although I couldn't make it to the end). The atmosphere of the game is very interesting, the sound and the script are impressive. My only suggestion would be to try to differentiate the question option buttons from the scripts, because sometimes I chose wrong because they are very similar. Congratulations on the work!
Nice game with good theme application!
@somogy Thank you for playing
