Love it!
oh shit, i'm underground in a maze with only a small amount of light. Brick walls are everywhere. can you rescue me from the maze?
I hate horror games... This one too ! Congrats very good job ! Ambiance is pinpoint, I got scared two/three times !
WELL DAMN, that's totally an awesome work! My grate respect to the artist and designer. The atmosphere is incredibly sick. I am certainly the person that loves horrors and that's quite nice job
This is so creepy! love it. The devlog is awesome as well.
Very spooky! Good job. Love that you did a maze generator for this type of game. Really feels like you can get lost
i spooked 5/5
I don't like mazes, but I finished the game. I liked that you can hear the monster if you didn’t manage to photograph it the first time — it gives you another chance. The lighting is good, and the monster looks cool visually.
I love horror games! This one too! (and im not just write the opposite of one of the comments i mean it!)
it spooked me a few times when the monster was looking at me in the corners hahaha, good job guys, love the ambiance and the sound design. Music was also great and the dungeon crawler type movement is a really good use on this type of game, it forces to look forward and look at the deatyh in the eyes hahaha. I could not get to pass the 3rd level btw, don't know if i missed a gameplay mechanic ?
@monogatari thank you very much! The mechanics are the same: you should use the camera to scare the monster away, find the key and open the hatch. Sometimes the monster isn't gone after the first flash and you have to navigate by its breath to photograph it again!
thank you @hope42morrow @ngryyyyy @gorgeous-bastard @slow-chaz @based-on-life @izzqz @aveezavr @howtobehayes ❤️
I was sweating while playing, it was really scary! The sounds in the game are just amazing, the visual style is cool, the monster is adorable. I really liked the game!
Wow, textures and models are made pRoFeSsIoNaLly! Game looks dope
I really liked it! Great job everyone! It's visuals are really good, the atmosphere is really unsetlling, the sounds are great, I loved the creature's design and the gameplay was very smooth. Congrats!
Absolutely loved this. The visual style and gameplay are brilliant well done
It's great, it's very atmospheric.
Scary games are totally not my cup of tea, and this is scary, so I didn't like it (in the sense I loved how you managed to achieve that). Scary music, scary ambience, scary shadow in the corner (*shudders*) excellent work!
Yea I love the creepy feeling when playing this, a job well done I think. I do use external speaker and blasting the audio as usual so this one got me off guard intentionally...
Great game! Awesome sound design choices, very atmospheric and fun! Amazing submission!
The atmosphere is genuinely scary—I love it! The old-school controls are a nice touch too. Great job!
great atmosphere !
Impressive :) Great atmosphere, good graphics and fantastic sound design !
Great entry! I really enjoyed walking the maze and it was indeed scary. The ambient was fantastic, very creepy, the monster was scary.
There was only one thing that seemed a bit annoying: sometimes monster spawns in front of you and then right behind you. It's hard to notice (although the sound changes), but then you get killed from behind and have to start over. Thanks for keeping the key after death though, it felt much better waking up with it. Apart from that I spent really nice time, thanks for the experience!
Legend of grimrock vibes. Really great quality in all aspects: sound design, graphics, gameplay.
Nice one. Good combo of graphics, audio and overall mood
Nice game! Here were my thoughts as I was playing through it: - I appreciate the tutorial when you need it, like when in front of a key. - I'm curious how you got webgl on the ludum dare page to work properly for a unity game; Mine couldn't so I had to depend on itch, which worked. - I like the scares. - The camera idea is neat. I like that it's introduced in the 2nd level. - I was doing left/right wall-strats to get around the maze, but still had a bit of a time trying to get around. I'd retrace the same paths and get stuck at times. - I seem to die to easily due to low reaction time so because of that, I chose to always hold the camera out and stop using the lamp. - There seems to be moments where I die very easily. I snap the camera, but I still die. So I instead try to turn around after taking a photo, but still die. I reached level 3~4 and got lost in the depths, but I had a nice time. I like the scares, they were fun!
I think I almost punched my computer every time I saw the monster XD. Loved the game the art, the music EVERYTHING!!! Great job :)
This game hooked me with its incredible vibe, drenched in atmosphere. I love the tile-based movement combined with low-res but bump-mapped walls, the spooky music, the little peeks of the monster. Plodding through the halls not knowing when it will show up.
Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of a maze of walls that all look the same. After awhile, it stops being scary and just starts being a chore to navigate (about half way through the second level I was getting more frustrated than tense). It doesn't help that the monster would seem to grab me immediately after I take a photo, some of the time. I'm not sure if that's supposed to happen or if I'm doing something wrong. The third level didn't introduce anything new so it was kind of boring, and I was relieved that it was the last level.
I can't state enough how much I loved the atmosphere of the game though, and for that it deserves high marks.
good horror!
"when jam ends in half an hour but 'web build error'" I love it :D I can only agree with others that the maze is hard and tedious to navigate. I would need a map to be able to finish your game. But besides that a 5/5 experience :)
Wow, I almost don’t even dare to review the game—just the concept art of the monster already scared me so much! Since I didn’t use good audio, I didn’t get the full experience, but I’ll try again later with headphones like you suggested. I can’t believe you made this game in such a short time! Congrats! Im amazed by the devlog!
Scary game! The monster is really well done. The same brick walls everywhere made it a bit hard to navigate around.
One of my favourites for sure, I loved this little horror experience! Very spooky, but gives a sense of comfort when you finally learn how to scare away the monster. Had so much fun.
