Insane work! You nailed the pixel art <3 It would be nice if you could also play using a controller. So far only the horizontal movement works.

The ending tho :D
Great work! Played it way to long :D
Great work! I love the camera movement and the dash mechanic :) I think that the player control feels quite smooth, I would just change the Input keybinds to something like space for jumping and shift for dashing.
Great game. Highlights for me are the animations and the polish of the game overall, for sure :) I got around 19000 Points in the end. I dont know if thats a bug or not, but it seems like your attack speed increases when hitting the bats. I noticed some flickering with your tilemap rendering and we had the same problem with our game (also in Unity). Disabling anti aliasing fixed this problem for us, maybe this also does the trick for you <3
Best music by far :) And quite impressive for a scratch project! My first programming experience was with scratch, I love this tool.
Meow I guess.. I would not have figured out the two key thing without the comments here. The first time I heard that laser sound you got my 5 stars in humor. The gameplay was surprisingly satisfying!
And yes, make the buddy stronger! Give him some love!!
Got a score of 102 secs :)
Quite impressive work for only 6 hours, especially liked the music and use of colors here. Would have loved to play the "bunnies and foxes" game :(
@vetche-studio We were waiting for someone to notice  For us it is called "Neues von Petterson und Findus"
This melody sticks in my head since childhood.
@vetche-studio I created this score partly from memory and played it on my guitar. Feel free to try it out  (the rhythm is slightly off)

Superb graphics and sound design. I can imagine this to be turned into a much bigger game.
This has huge potential I think. Love the graphics and sound. Would love to see you keep working on this :)
This game feels really polished. Great audio and graphics. Sadly, I did not get to the ending since this game takes for ages.
the music kept me playing ... well ... for a bit to long. Very polished down to the beating background in sync with the music.
Love the pixel art and game idea. I think if these games were added to among us, the imposters would win all the time because of the games being almost impossible to complete  Especially the middle one feels very unfair. Sound would really improve this, since audio cues would help a lot in these minigames (like a rhythm for the synapse thingy).
Awesome work! The gameplay is very smooth and satisfying. Especially the cutting mechanic! Got a highscore of just 7, i am sure a lot of you will beat this. Make the two digits real!
The one thing I would maybe add to this is some kind of indicator where the nearest astroid is located.
After getting a good hang of the controls, this was quite fun. Sometimes more is less when it comes to visuals, good job! :)
As others have noted already, the bombs feel a bit unfair tho.
this sparked a local competition on our discord, love it!

There may be a bug with the high scores: When playing level 4 it updated the score for level 5.
Also another quite huge bug
The ground pound enables you to dash mid air (when spammed really fast). You can get veeery fast times with that...
lul.png
@slimmerburger
regarding the dash bug: When using the ground pound move without any ground below, you would normally die. But when you dash right after using the pound, it cancells the pound and sends you flying forwards. One can repeat this to basically fly through the air. It is quite hard to excecute and control, so I would leave it in tbh :)
A good bit of fun :D The voice acting did it for me!
I was first afraid of the game being to easy, but the difficulty ramped up quite a bit. My favorite level is the one where you have to push the little robot friend before destroying the rest of the walls. Great pixel art aswell !!
Mby one bug: The red lever in the "large" level seemed to be out of bounds...
big mood :] The music was very fitting and made the experience complete.
This game is seriously underrated! The fact that it starts out so simple and then gets insanely hard very quickly makes it super addicting! I absiolutely love the little "oh no" when a cookie gets eaten <3
There is so much content for a solo developed game in 3 days, really impressive! I also get stuck at the box-cloning level. Maybe it is still buggy or I do not get the mechanic. Would love to come back and play the rest of the game when this is fixed :D
Edit: I got it now! you have to look at a box you wanna clone... did not know that you can just turn by holding shift.
Edit Edit: Im stuck at the last lvl. It cant be done 100% change my mind
Edit Edit Edit: Ok I did it. These puzzles are tricky wow :D
One of the best games I played so far! So polished and so innovative! What I liked the most was the difficulty. Most games are to easy (including ours) due to a lack of time for balancing. This game feels very challenging but not unfair to the player, which makes it so addicting!
@coda-highland Thanks for your feedback! Just tried out your paper-style game, its quite fun :D
@bjornstenlund The immense lag was caused by our mesh cutting algorithm used to destroy the enemy meshes when they die. For big explosions, many enemies die at once and want to generate their cut mesh in one frame.. We fixed this now by precomputing the cut meshes once (you will notice this now when summoning your first chicken minion now).
@shrillwhip @krummsakura @guitarbro Our magnificent post-jam version comes with a fresh UI, thanks for your feedback :)
Very cute! So many dialogue options, so much content. Since this game involves a lot of trial and error (I recieved some darkened matter stuff and then did not know what to do anymore), it would be nice to navigate the symbols a bit faster. Maybe a menu with all symbols where you can select one by clicking on it.
The bees wobble downwards when you jump on them :O I really like the graphics and simple Idea of this game. And I agree with others here, the controls made this harder than it should be :D
Cool game. Reminds me of Dungeon Defenders, loved that game. Would be cool if you could upgrade your weapon too and choose your playstyle. I have the same bug as others where my towers stay in the game after restarting. In addition to that, buying another tower now costs me 64k. There is definitely something wrong with restarting the game :D
And edit: Can you win this game? Or are you just bound to fail at some point?
Its mega addicting and super hard. Got to wave 14 but then died :( As others pointed out already, the enemies and sheep quickly form singularities that run into each other.. What I missed the most was some explanation and stats of the different sheep types to base my gameplay decisions on.
Cool game! As others already pointed out, the money system was a bit confusing at first. I would love to see more enemies and better balancing. The two levels I played got very easy after the second tower was in place.
This game has just the right scope for a game jam. It feels very polished. I really like the art here. I wonder if this game comes down to a good strategy or just pure luck, as the yokais you get are random. I hope youll get to 20 ratings until tomorrow!
Wow! This looks great! And the sound effects and music are perfekt. The gameplay gets a bit stale quickly and is not that innovative, but well ... its just another Survivor...
The one thing I would maybe add here are better visual cues for what the enemies are and what objects you can pick up. Its a bit confusing as it all has the same black and white paper style. Maybe some colors would help.
5/5. Absolute banger :D
I agree, the levels with multiple portals are a bit confusing. Best part of your game is the music! I love it :D And I think I broke your game in lvl 2. You can create an infinite belt-loop and whats your order spin around indefinitely.
Surprisingly fun! What I missed the most was some form of stat overview. I did not know if taking flat or percentage stats is the better option. Maybe just use one of the two.
The sound effect when you pick up resources. Its soo damm satisfying! Now I want to play more :D
Great athmosphere! I think the creepy visuals together with the sound design makes this a very unique experience. I dont know if it is intended, but you can climb up any wall by wall-running and then double jumping further up. This made the gameplay well.. not that challenging. I am also wondering about that one creepy ass enemy on the first level. Are there supposed to be more of them further up?
Best game I played so far! Wow... I really love the feeling of drawing circles to kill enemies and the card progression.
It would be nice if you kept working on this game a bit, its seriously addicting. Some features and tweaks I would propose are: - Make cards selectable via keyboard buttons (1,2,3, ...) (the scrolling interrupted the gameplay a bit) - Make the different summons effective against different types of enemies (so just spamming one summon is not a viable option) - Maybe some deckbuilding mechanic where you have to select your cards before each level. - Maybe some updgrade mechanic that lets you double down on one playstyle
Very polished and quite fun. I think im just to stupid to understand what the children are there for. One is a barrier and the other one?
the eggs cracking upon dying or reaching the portals, I cant :DDD Super cute pixel art and smooth gameplay. Things that woukld immediately improve this game in my opinion: - Some cool super-mega chicken summon animation when you win the game - A bit more challenging spawn rate of enemies - Player health bar - maybe a score in the end that represents how many of your acolyteggs survived
Nice twist to summmon your own enemies. It is a bit hard to get into because there is a lot to memorize and multitasking going on. At first I did not notice the cards at the bottom of my screen and was waiting for upgrades the whole run. Really love the enemy design!!
Very pretty game with a great athmosphere. Your game is also the first that made me a bit angry while playing:D
I never know if my drawing is to inaccurate or if I am just drawing the wrong shape. And even if I am drawing the same shape, sometimes I can summon and sometimes I cant. How do you check which shape is drawn? It would be nice to see some feedback while drawing such that I know that the game knows what I am doing. Expecially for the summons that require multiple shapes to be drawn it would be veeery helpful to see what shape is drawn wrong. The more I write the angrier I get again.. Tried to summon Karimp for 10 minutes now and nothing happens :D
@mircudx It often happens that I get the green candles but not the blue ones after drawing the second sigil. Is then always the case when the second sigil is drawn incorrectly? Or can I somehow destroy my first drawing? How exactly do you test the sigil shape? Its not yust about hitting the circles on the board isnt it?
Also pls tell me what I am doing wrong in this picture :( help_me.png
This game made me feel like a pro gamer when I finally got a hang of the summoning mechanic. Insanely polished game for only 3 days of solo developing!
wohoo! best intro ever :O
First puzzle game I came across this jam and wow! Cant wait for your next game in 6 months :D
This is a very interesting idea. I like the pixel art and death animations of enemies a lot! My best strategy so far is to spawn as many enemies as possible and then hiding between objects to kill as many enemies as I can before I die. Got a score of 1m with this
@thecze lol yeah 100 speed go brrr.. No but seriously this game is so cute! The music and art fits super well together! Maybe I broke the game by upgrading all the stats to 100, but the rats got stuck at those bridges and would not move anymore. But yeah maybe thats on me :D
Impressive work for a solo project! I love the mood and level design. I was stuck for quite a bit, because I did not really understand the games mechanics. Plus the view of one path is obstructed by terrain obove, so it was a bit tricky to figure that part out :)
very cool ngl :)
Everything is great except the gameplay. It just made me ragequit after the third attempt. If you can go up its fine but if you suddenly have to take a turn to the left or right its already to late and the monster catches up with you. Since you have a lot of inertia, you are just screwed when making one wrong move. This combined with the insane depth you are starting at makes this really frustrating!
Wow im very impressed :O This is the most creative game ive seen so far. I really like the level design. It made this game a lot of fun. My only critique would be the floaty movement.
I really love the fact that the hatch on the last floor opens but no items are inside. My favorite moment of this game for sure! Only downside to this game is the heavy tax on my gpu. Could not hear the game music because my fans were so loud π
@wisstopher Wow I just noticed this is a solo compo entry! massive respect :O
The pixel art is top notch :) And the music is very dwarfy! Super cool entry!
This is a very original idea, i love it! And the art and music too :3 The only thing this game needs is more time for more content :)
"when jam ends in half an hour but 'web build error'" I love it :D I can only agree with others that the maze is hard and tedious to navigate. I would need a map to be able to finish your game. But besides that a 5/5 experience :)
Great game with the perfect amount of levels :) I only got a hang of the game mechanics mid way through, so a tutorial would be nice.
5/5 stars, wow! The only improvement i can think of is to just use the first track for the entire game. It always cuts to the next track when it gets realllly good :D
sub2.png
As others mentioned here already, it felt like something was missing visually. You can see where the mining takes place but you just reveal the underlying image. No treasures or ores or something. It feels very random to then get money after each round. But besides that, very impressive entry with great music and even a little story :)
Nice marching squares game :) The design of the little moles is so adorable!
I loved the graphics and sound design but did not have a lot of fun playing. I think this comes down to preference...
How do you beat the boss level? I cant hit the emenies with my sword without getting to close to them so I always die. The game was very fun up until this point :( Well anyways, great job on this game :)
Wow! This game looks an feels very polished! I really felt like sitting in tiny submarine somewhere in the ocean depths. My only critique would be the gameplay itself: As far as I understand it, this is a stealth type of game. Due to the (visually stunning) limited visibility I could not figure out where to go and had a hard time studying the enemy fish behaviour. So it comes down to trial and error, which gets very boring very quickly because you are slow and always respawn at the start. Maybe someone more patient will figure out a winning strategy and post it here so I can finish the game :)
@pe4q07 Thanks for playing! :) The same thing happened to us aswell, we fixed this bug but did not upload the fixed version yet. Currently you get stuck when exiting the upgrade menu while a dialogue is active. So finishing the dialogue first and then closing the menu should do the trick until we upload the fixed version :)
@xparker haha you found one of many silly secrets we put in this game :D
Did you also recover our bodies from the gamedev cave? It may be worth it :p
The controls are rough! As others mentioned, the arrow keys do not change the shoot direction. Besides that, this entry feels very polished and the music track fits the theme perfectly :)
Amazing game :O I love all the wiggly animations and goofy stuff 5 stars in humor for sure. Thank you for making this gem :)
Since the game tried to pull some tricks on me with the sharks from all over the place, I also started to cheat by shooting the crab from miles away :P I love that this is a compact and fun game with a little funny intro :)
This game genre is perfect for this theme. Great potential! Unfortunately, it took me a while to understand how the game is supposed to be played. A little tutorial would be very helpful! And the UI was constantly popping up and slowing down gameplay. Especially when you want to relocate some mineshafts, the UI makes fluent gameplay almost impossible.
Great job! The sound effects, music and visuals really come together perfectly. The gameplay feels a bit unfair since there is no real way to avoid getting shot at by those ground enemies. Ah and the yes/no buttons in the UI confused me a bit. (I tried pressing the keys on my keyboard) Overall a great entry! Easily top 10% ive played so far :)
Somehow I really love the pixe art drawings of this game :) And the feeling of being super overpowered was also great!
lost track of time... well I am at lvl 12 and love it! Best entry I played so far :)
Selfmade game engines always impress me :O One of my controllers had a slightly drifting joystick which made me constantly move forward. This is not really a bug but maybe something that could still be avoided. Not sure how complicated it would be to filter the input with your engine.
pizza :)
You did it @anekich. It is the cutest game in the world <3 I love the art and soundtrack! It is so polished i cannot believe it :O Thank you for making this! (Only negative thing for me is the difficulty. I cheated and took read screenshots to have an easier time :P)
I like the sense of progression while playing :) However, the sparsity of items (especially ammo sometimes) makes this game a bit boring after playing for some time. Oh and you seem to be faster when moving diagonally, a common bug for topdown games.
45m should do the trick for now. But maybe i will play this again and try to beat this pb :) Your idea is very innovative and has a lot of potential!
However, there is one issue i noticed. Combining the "digging in a grid" and tower defense genres leads to a conflict: The tower defense machanic forces you to dig long, bendy tunnels (or at least it feels right to do so), while you yourself want to get up quickly. Always traversing my long tunnel of (enemy) death felt very annoying. And accidentally removing one wrong block can destroy your carefully crafted tunnel also felt pretty bad.
Maybe you could add the option to build special blocks that you yourself can go through but enemies dont. I would love seing you guys continue developing this game. Like I said this has serious potential!
The art is SO GOOD! As others mentioned already, the third encounter felt buggy with the dodging sequence repeating every enemy attack. And the ending was missing a little something... But thats more than understandable given this short amount of development time. Thanks you for the awesome experience :)
Very moody and just the perfect play time to not get bored :) Is there an ending where both make it out?
