fun idea!

pey 2025-04-08 10:10

Very nice game ! The minimalist graphics are beautiful ! The retro-space audio is perfect. The gameplay is a bit diffcult to catch at the beginning, but once you have it, it's really good !

philocode 2025-04-08 12:32

Hey, this is a very cool minimalistic game, I really enjoyed it. Sadly, the game got stuck after I purchased one of the upgrades at the station, but the cargo and delivery management was well done and I really liked the symbol-idea for signaling the destination of the planet

the-stewarts 2025-04-08 12:36

Took me a while to get my head around this, but was definitely interesting. I liked the minimum art style and the concept is great!

nef1k 2025-04-08 12:45

I spent so much more time playing the game than I was expecting. Despite minimalistic graphics, it is very retaining and fun to play. Great piece of art!

vladimir-ins 2025-04-08 12:51

Very unique gameplay !

jhax 2025-04-08 13:28

@philocode stuck as in a crash? Can you remember which upgrade it was?

greenradiation 2025-04-08 14:20

Wow, such a cute game. Very nice mechanics and well polished, although it took me a while to figure out the controls or the tutorial hints. Great job!

philocode 2025-04-08 15:55

@jhax yeah, the browser version stopped working and I couldn't interact with anything anymore. I don't remember the name, but it cost 500 I think, maybe that narrows it down for you

jhax 2025-04-08 16:30

@philocode 500 would be purchasing a New Tanker, thanks for the info - I'll see if I can figure anything out! Were things still moving around, like the textures on the planets and the stations bobbing up and down, with interactions not working or did the whole thing grind to a halt?

tetrapteryx 2025-04-08 16:44

Best I could do was 200 days! I appreciated that the music didn't feel repetitive even after playing for a long time.

Is there a way to clear out expired cargo from a planet without thanklessly shipping it across the galaxy? Because I could enjoy playing this for hours, but things fell apart pretty quickly once too many rarely visited planets piled up!

philocode 2025-04-08 17:09

@jhax there were still sounds playing, I don’t remember if sprites were still animated. But nothing was interactive anymore

jhax 2025-04-08 18:24

@philocode ok, thanks again for the info (and thanks for playing, sorry your playthrough got cut short!)

@tetrapt thanklessly shipping it across the galaxy was the idea designwise to sort of drive the difficulty a bit, but sounds like a Chill mode might be a worthwhile addition!

notexplosive 2025-04-09 02:54

Very cool! I don't think I've played anything quite like this!

I also crashed when buying the Small Tanker about 5 minutes in. I remember I had a full inventory and I had sent out 1 probe before that.

cammin 2025-04-09 07:17

I really appreciate the tutorial. But I don't know if I'm much of a "micro" player so it was a bit tricky for me, haha. My game froze, I think it was after buying something. Music and graphics is nice :)

jhax 2025-04-09 12:24

@notexplosive @cammin @philocode Feel free to ignore obviously - what browsers are you folk on?

I've found some potential null referencey stuff in the shop code, which I could see crashing things, so I'm pushing some slightly more careful code for that. Although I've still not been able to reproduce it myself so not 100% sure it'll actually fix the problem you've bumped into (pretty confident it hasn't made anything worse at least)!

Thanks for playing and glad to hear you were having a good time with it until it froze (all part of the game? very cold in deep space?)!

notexplosive 2025-04-09 14:13

@jhax I'm using Brave browser

quasilyte 2025-04-09 14:17

I want to play the game, but it has weird resolution in my browser window. It looks like it expects a full 16:9 ratio, but browser and the task/control bars will eat some space. Could you add an itch "full screen" button to the game (edit the game on itch) or adjust the canvas size so it fits the page? Attaching the screenshot to demonstrate the problem. I have 1920x1080 resolution, if that helps. issue.png

jhax 2025-04-09 14:29

@quasilyte Fullscreen button added! It'll snap to the top left of the screen, which I realise isn't ideal, but better than not being able to play at all!

quasilyte 2025-04-09 14:34

@jhax I can confirm that it's playable now! I'll check it out later as I have to go for now. Thank you for a quick fix

cammin 2025-04-09 17:32

@jhax I was using Google Chrome

jhax 2025-04-09 20:56

@cammin & @notexplosive thanks for letting me know! I think if @cammin is getting it on Chrome that probably rules out something browser specific as that's what I've been playing it on, still none the wiser on a specific cause!

marudziik 2025-04-09 21:30

Unfortunately the game got stuck for me on the initial screen. I tried Win 10 Pro with Egde ver. 135.0.3179.66 (64-bit) and Chrome ver 135.0.7049.42 (64-bit), then updated Chrome to the same result. Graphics card is RTX 2070. The audio plays, I saw some messages on the console when clicking start game, but nothing else. I retried it on Win 10 Home with the same Chrome and Intel HD graphics, and it magically works, though the gameplay was a bit slow and it hanged after a while (this machine is a little bit older though). Huh.

Anyway, the graphics look good and consistent and the audio is really great. I liked the mechanics and the visuals, and didn't really need the tutorial at all, so the gameplay was quite intuitive. I also appreciate thet you've provided tutorial. It's a good entry overall, thanks!

sevadusk 2025-04-09 21:33

The concept and mechanics you implemented make for a very nice minimalist game! Took a bit to get used to the interface, so the tutorial helped.

fancyreckless 2025-04-10 14:02

Fun and deep game, took a while to understand even with tutorial and some bugs were in the way, but overall pretty solid with graphics and sounds matching the mood.

woe 2025-04-10 14:49

Huh?? that's surprisingly addictive! Much appreciation for the tutorial. Music also adds a lot to the atmosphere, good job!

rack47 2025-04-11 01:51

This is really cool and unique. I'm thankful you put the tutorial in there. Great job!

drsmey 2025-04-11 21:08

Super cool game. I really like the trading mechanics and minimalist pixelart.

coldwarpizza 2025-04-12 05:36

This was so good! very chill vibe.

thomas-higgins 2025-04-12 05:40

love logistic games like this so cool to see this executed it such a fun way only issue was I wanted more haha

christian-zommerfelds 2025-04-12 05:57

Fun game! Really enoyed playing! I got to 250 days. Some feedback for improvement: * I found it a bit annoying to have to load things manually. A single click load would have been useful if there is only one ship. * Some things I didn't figure out: what the decreasing green bars are, what the fuel station is for * It would be nice to keep playing in a more relaxed way, I kepet running out of money when I wanted to play more * Maybe there should be a way to discard cargo? I got stuck at some point with everything full and could exachange goods at the office

On the positive side: audio was amazing. The art was simple but very appealing. The games feels crisp and was very enjoayble. I think it has potential for a bigger game with more features!

caer 2025-04-12 17:39

This one has a really addicting gameplay loop; I love it. The minimalist graphics worked well for me, although I got stuck during the tutorial my first time around because some of the cargo "type" icons look _really_ similar to one another; I'd love to see some more visually distinct iconography for the cargo. In the event the player only has one freighter docked at a location, I'd also love to be able to transfer cargo with one click instead of two.

stormouse-indie 2025-04-13 01:58

I can see it growing into something fun! As a game jam work it's very polished and I love how the icons indicates out-of-viewport planets.

senso 2025-04-13 15:32

This is a real solid base to build up upon! Music is already golden and the game loop satisfying to play and play and play. Great game!

adhvik 2025-04-14 07:11

I didn't completely understand how to play even with tutorial but music and graphics were nice

resty 2025-04-14 15:46

Like it. It should be a lot of works in a game jam to make a game like that. Audio and Visuals are nice. Interaction could be improved a bit.

yanato 2025-04-14 19:43

I like it but too hard imao)

tireks 2025-04-15 08:42

it started off as being 'ahh this is slow and not engaing' but boooooooooooi was i wrong hahahah ended up playing for quite a bit. love the sound design as well!

cherrybcake 2025-04-15 22:03

Nice game! I like the simple graphics style, it took me a bit to understand how to play it but once I did it was easy and fun :)

anton-florey 2025-04-15 22:09

I loved the graphics and sound design but did not have a lot of fun playing. I think this comes down to preference...

ditam 2025-04-18 18:23

Nice one, I'm really digging the retro vibes of this. I do kind of wish the planets were circular though hehe. The tutorial didn't seem to help too much, but once you figure things out it plays very smoothly!

morepixels 2025-04-19 01:48

Fun game but very overwhelming, the fun sort of stopped as things got too much to handle.

livelypersimmon 2025-04-19 13:34

Unique game with lots of style! Love the graphics and sound design:D

shadyshade 2025-04-19 18:18

Love this game! Graphics, atmosphere and ambient soundtrack are awesome! Gameplay was also fun, nice job!

goldyxen 2025-04-19 18:29

I really like randomly generated planet icons.

Also in my first run i got incredibly unlucky and only had 1 freighter. Did you really not consider this or did i miss something obvious?

rickylee 2025-04-19 19:11

omg it gets so hard haha i love it, i would love to play a game like this with some auto routing mechanic, maybe a bit like metro or something. awesome game! ^^

mechanicallife 2025-04-21 19:22

At first I was a little daunted by the controls but turns out it was quite intuitive. I did not figure out what the question mark cargo was or where it was suppose to go but I guess it was for planets I had not discovered with probes yet? Cool entry nonetheless and real nice to have such a simple tutorial for a game jam!

rewzu 2025-04-25 01:04

I liked the music. It makes a great mood and does not feel repetitive. Graphics are simple but effective. Overall it is an interesting and quite polished game. Great entry! :D

cassowary 2025-04-25 21:59

I like this! I wish the planets fit on the screen a little better to reduce scrolling, and it was a little slow-paced with only one freighter. Audio is great and very evocative of "the loneliness of deep space." The graphics make really great use of a limited color palette and I appreciate the attention to detail in terms of upgrades. Also the concept of decimal space weeks is funny to me.
