Really really like the concept and the art. Sometimes I felt rushed, maybe more time at the start or a pause option would be great! Solid entry.

Simple but cool concept! I found it a little hard to begin with, but it's cool that you can go to the next level even if you haven't complete the previous one. I love the mood and art style! Great job :)

doot 2020-10-06 10:58

Nice one!

The concept is good and well executed. The art and music go very well together and with the game. It felt a bit too hard or messy at time. I liked that you could go to next level anyway to see more content.

Thanks for the game 💕

lintfordpickle 2020-10-06 21:26

The concept was definitely interesting, but I had a pretty hard time figuring out what to do. Is it possible to add new pieces to the roads, or can I only reuse the pieces already on the level? Well done on the graphics and sound though - very atmospheric!

cinar 2020-10-06 21:26

a bit hard to play for me. But great concept. GJ!

marcusnystrand 2020-10-06 21:30

@lintfordpickle Thank you! You can only rearrange the pieces already on the level.

Perhaps I should've had some quick tutorial screen before the first level :)

loku 2020-10-06 21:31

This is the best entry I've played so far. Probably the only one to embrace the loop, rather than trying to get out of it. Night driving is probably my favourite ambiance ever too, so it really got me!

invader 2020-10-06 21:32

Unique concept. I like the art style - really fits the game.

I feel the control scheme can be improved somehow. Say, automatically rotate or bend the road in the right direction when forming a turn. Currently I'm loosing much of precious time by pushing Space multiple times in order to fix the puzzle. Maybe by automating this you can get smoother gameplay.

mikew 2020-10-06 21:35

really beautiful art and a fun idea for a game but im not entirely sure how to create the loops to trap people in it.

marcusnystrand 2020-10-06 21:52

@loku Thank you! I put a lot of time into coming up with a concept that embraces the loop, so I'm very glad you said that :)

keldy 2020-10-06 21:54

The idea is amazing but i'm too dumb to get it right, awesome job tho, i loved the purple lights!

marcusnystrand 2020-10-06 21:54

@invader Thank you, great idea! I haven't thought about that actually, but I should definitely implement it after the jam :)

mercurywitch 2020-10-06 21:59

Nicely done, I love the look. Those colors pop and overall it's a beautiful game. I had fun planning good routes for loops, but holy cow are my hands tired, I felt so rushed @_@. I agree that a little more time might be a good balance adjustment. That said, fantastic job.

anant-ahuja 2020-10-08 05:34

Loved the neon art style, the lighting coming from the tunnels when the vehicles are approaching and the music. I'm curious how you made it and what tools you used. But found the game really hard. I was always short on time.

fireslash 2020-10-08 05:43

Echoing others in balance, I always feel super rushed and it takes multiple tries to get a working pattern down fast enough. Also it feels like the road placement code is constantly fighting me and I'm never sure why.

I like the idea, and it's satisfying when you get it to work, though a "fast forward" button might be useful for when you know the cars are stuck in a loop and you're just waiting for the timer to tick down.

docjekyll 2020-10-08 06:33

Beautiful, moody execution.

The lighting from the cars really amps up the pressure when in puzzle solving mode, as the cars start turning the corner while you're still laying down track.

Highlighting the incomplete road segments was a nice usability decision.

marcusnystrand 2020-10-08 15:40

@anant-ahuja Thank you! I made the assets in Cinema 4D and did some textures / graphics in Adobe Illustrator. I built the game in Unity and made the music in Bandlab :)

marcusnystrand 2020-10-08 15:43

@fireslash Good suggestions! I spent lots of time trying to write some game logic that would identify when a loop was made and then the timer would start at maybe 5 seconds. But after 15 hours with no success I had to move on :/

Anyways, thank you for your comment :)

flying-dog-fish 2020-10-08 19:41

Great idea and pretty graphics. It's rather hard to place the pieces fast enough though.

feesh 2020-10-08 19:48

It was really fast so I didn't really feel like I ever had a chance to figure out what to do before the level started

vleue 2020-10-08 19:49

really like the idea. Hard to play, and strange to see vehicles change lanes without reason :id:

but really well done

beefbone 2020-10-08 19:59

Game feels very complete and played quite nice and smoothly. Love the style you went with it really adds to the game. Lighting was amazing, it gave the game a lot of atmosphere. I however played with a touchpad so I couldn't play the game to it full extent, doesn't take away that the game was great.

mog13 2020-10-08 20:03

great mood and great ambience. The core loop was solid if a little punishing, though it was a rush when i managed to put the last piece down just at the last second. Great job!

clemonades 2020-10-08 21:16

gorgeous graphcis/visuals and I really dig the core mechanic. Great entry, very polished my friend :)

netmute 2020-10-10 09:29

Sweet graphics! I wonder why those drivers never noticed when I put them in a very tiny loop  Grob job!
