Oh my god this is so silly, I laughed hard  Very good work on graphism ! The only negative thing I have to say is that the sound when you get a point is too loud.

Cute game, good art and sound. Could have used some more in terms of gameplay.
Nice art style. Sometimes the animals spawn on top of you so not very fair. Overal good execution
Cool game. Well done.
Good game! The start spawn of some animals could improve a little, but that's a personal feeling :v:
Sadistic. Why do the turtle have to share it's pain? As a game the hyper-casual mechanic works well(scored 57) and the cohesive and is pretty original because i never would thought of something like this.
I love Ludum Dare for these games. A fun game with stylized children's drawings. Sometimes it is difficult to notice what he died from, perhaps they will spawn right in me.
Maybe it would be nice if animals contrasted a bit more with the environment. Also the gameplay was not very challenging, save for those times where animals would spawn right in front of the cart and I'd die without knowing why. Maybe to make it a bit more challenging there could be some sort of cooldown or limitation to the shooting? Overall 10/10 absolutely cursed
@cafe-ducha-siesta Thanks. The game actually gets harder over time as every thirty seconds a new animal joins the fray.
@cafe-ducha-siesta @yokoonfire @rhaelser @Rost Thanks for the kind feedback. I actually wrote some code that would ensure the enemies don't spawn to close, but forgot to take their loopy paths into consideration.
@doomerismo Thanks. If the :turtle: didn't share its pain then the game couldn't happen.
that's a lot of different loops going on here! I agree with some of the previous comments, sometimes the animals would spawn too close and I wouldn't even see why I lost, but otherwise it was fun
Haha funny game, nice work ! I kinda feel bad for those animals though 😖 I love the graphics, very simple but also very original I think ! Congrats :)
nice funny game. i had lot of fun playing it. got to around 29 but those animals just kept spawning too close to be able to even react to them. and then, clicking fast started marking text on the page you uploaded to which didn't help either :D
@nisanick Thanks. I recommend playing it in fullscreen (click that blue button with arrows on it under the game).

Weird game.
So you suck me in here with a sob story of the turtle, I get all emotional, and then I have to inflict this pain on all the other animals? what a spiteful little turtle, I was expecting to be cutting the bands off the animals...
Either way it was fun. Draw more attention to those spawns, add some power ups, and rapid fire and I would have been stuck in there a bit longer.
Good Job!
@acuriosity Thanks for the funny and constructive comment.
Loved the game!! A really original interpretation of the theme of the jam. A nice and fun little arcade game with really interesting food for thought!
Great message!
@rost @rhaelser @yokoonfire @cafe-ducha-siesta @klettari @nisanick I fixed the code that checks that enemies don't spawn to close to the turtle. I think the game is less prone to random change now. And I think the animals now don't even need to contrast with the environment more.
Woah, pretty dark story xD It's a nice game, I like its main idea and real-life inspiration.
First seconds impossible hard
Damn, our games are too similar!
I see you kept it simpler and were able to make more out of it instead of having something half-finished. I also love how you combined it thematically with the story of the turtle, but it would have been more fitting if you tried to save other animals or combat environmental waste, but it is funnier this way. a little bit of enemy variety would be nice to have, too.
@exofrenon @acuriosity I find it's often the case that focusing on the negative side of things puts the point across more effectively. And besides, being the villain is usually more fun than being the good guy
This is a simultaneously very funny but also very dark take on the theme haha! I'm glad loopy managed to get some validation for his pain, but at what cost? Making other animals feel the same pain? I almost feel as if Loopy should have been throwing loops around humans, for were they not the _true_ perpetrators of his torment?
Otherwise, fun and funny :D Kudos!
fun game, I like the figure-8 rail shooter concept. I'd prefer if the animals contrasted the background a bit more, it felt like readability was the main struggle ^^ also the difficulty ramps up quite slowly, I think
OMG This is so much plastic wastes, and all those poor animals, it's so cruel  :rabbit: . Sike. Very funny game  although with a very dark theme hahaha. The gameplay is very intuitive too. Congrats! The only thing I have to say is that I spawn died and I was sad  . Maybe preventing that would be nice :)
Nice game... the public freak out when you place the mouse over the turtle was probably unplanned, but funny. Loved the graphics and game play.
@schizoid2k Thanks. You are partially right.. that wasn't planned, but I did leave it in because it looked funny. So it's not a bug, it's a feature
Nice game!

Very cruel. I felt guilty for laughing at the story/concept.
Had a bit of fun with this. Nicely done
It was a very sad story but a fun and simple game. Sometimes you got lucky based on random chance and other times a giant animal just appears on the track but easy enough to just play again.
Cute game, good art. Dead animals!
This is a surprisingly fun game considering how tragic the premise is. The cuteness of the art style only made it that much more disturbing, IMO. I found that the rate of fire made the game a bit too easy; you could just rapidly click to spray bullets at anything that moved, and you couldn't lose unless an animal happened to spawn on the track right in front of you. Still a good game, though, I enjoyed it.
[LoopyTheTurtle.jpg](///raw/c57/53/z/3a40d.jpg) The art style is really cute. It did feel pretty easy to spam click and hope for the best. Also, if you put your mouse over Loopy, they spin around as it cannot follow the mouse as it is too close. Sometimes animals would spawn super close and make it impossible to get their bodies out of the way as even after they are "looped" they can still kill you. It was a fun little game to play, so well done!! Also, I beat your highscore! Took a while though!!
LoL what an idea XD but the gameplay is spammy and you may die if something just spawn infront of you
Simple but fun game, congratulations! My only complain would be the (already reported) enemies appearing too close and the slow game over and restart loop. Other than that, good job!
@egan-henderson Thanks. Actually, Loopy intentionally behaves erratically when the mouse is over him, because he gets confused and that's funny. I made sure the animals spawn at a safe distance, but sometimes they are hard to distinguish from the background and/or move towards you. And you can push them away by shooting them some more even after they're incapacitated. Good job on beating the highscore!
@arbex Thankx. No animals are ever killed in this game, only incapacitated, they always come back. Even Loopy just gets incapacitated for a few seconds after falling off its car.
@island-jam-2-group-3 Thanks. There's only a slight delay after losing so you can register what happened and how much you scored. I think it's better than having to press something on a keyboard or click a button on screen (which you could do by accident).
So uh... going into this I was thinking Loopy would get his revenge against plastics or humans (especially seeing where you got your inspiration), but you threw me for a LOOP with Loopy making every animal go through the same pain he had to endure haha :'D
I think I may have experienced a bug though (or maybe I missed something) - Some animals would still kill me if touched even while roped.
@trexxak Thanks. Evil twists are my specialty :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
What you experienced was not a bug but a deliberate feature. You can still fall of your cart if it hits a large enough looped, incapacitated animal. You are supposed to shoot them out of your path, looped or not. And you don't get killed in this game, only incapacitated for a while, the same as the other animals.
yes, incapacitated, that's what I meant of course, sorry :'D
Highscore of 73 - played for a bit and I have to say, I love the polish that you put into this. A very solid entry which focuses on it's strength, the core gameplay LOOP and the LOOP that LOOPY loops on!
Sound Effects are always something that are hit and miss for me, the shooting effect was alright but the sound for hitting animals was not the most enjoyable to my ears so i had to mute them. However, your background music fit the game pretty well in my opinion, not too hectic, not too busy.
My only nitpick would be that the RNG can sometimes lead to very easy games and very hard games - my first try an animal spawned 0.5 seconds into my loop and caused me to instantly Game Over.
The round with the highscore however had multiple loops of enemies being on the other side of the screen, so there was that!
Overall, really fun game!
Pretty slick and challenging. The pace of it I really liked.
The idea is really good! I would recommend to add extra levels, weapons or power ups. However, great work for one dev!
Hahaha, this is so absurd, I love it! Besides the ridiculous and unique concept, it is also well polished, the looped and non-looped animal graphics are just perfect, and the shooting mechanic is very satisfying. Congrats!
