Cool idea!

Cool idea!
Good job! i enjoyed this a lot. It took me a little time to get it right, but i did. Fun game. Check out our game: Murder on peacock street, comment and let us know what you think. Visit our Instagram for weekly content about game dev, digital art, sound fx and more.
What's more perfect for the LD 45 theme than a game about the cosmic origin of the universe? It was a really fun game. I found it challenging however. I wish that when negative and positive particles collided, they would subtract the difference between their two sizes. In other words if I work to build up a large positive particle and it completely vanishes when it hits a small negative particle, I think it would be better if it just left the remainder behind. Overall good job though!
@terribly-awesome-games Thanks. Unfortunately your idea of subtracting the size of the particles wouldn't work as there would always be the same total mass of both particles and antiparticles and you would be unable to create an imbalance that is needed to actually win the game.
I see what I have to do but im having a hard time figuring out a strategy that would result in something better than "I'm boring" :D
@barrier Best strategy is to make one big particle and then destroy it with a small one. Repeat until win. Like I did in my video. There are actually 5 different endings depending on what you do.
Really cool idea! Super fun to play!
The idea is very creative and fun! Good job on your entry! :)
This was a really nice idea! The game could have been a little fleshed and some colour-coding would have helped out, but overall quite a nice game. Well done!
Neat idea! I kind of understood what I was doing by the end and managed to get a couple different endings. I think a timer to indicate how long was left would be nice. I took a while for me to notice the white ring was moving out. Also I'm not sure what the solution would be, but trying to get the outcome I wanted was pretty difficult and found that I wound up with next to nothing most of the time. Very cute though!
Cool idea! :)
Computational Physicist here. And for that I have to subtract points for scientific inaccuracy :D
Just kidding. But the antiverse ending "you created something totally different". Actually you would not be able to tell that it is different as antimatter behaves exactly like normal matter :D
I got the Universe antdthe Antiverse and the boring ending. I also once got a big amount of matter on the right side of the screen and a big amount of antimatter on the left. Unfortunately that also counted as boring even though it was the biggest amount of total mass i managed to contain.
All in all a funny shortlived concept. That was fun to play
Heyo, I liked your blog post, so it lead me here. I guess the most challenging and fun part for me was figuring out how to play the game and what goals to reach. So far I've found three endings (the "boring" one being my first, I shamefully admit), so I'm gonna keep trying! Your theme game is perfectly on point.
Loved so much the post you made about the game, explaining all the concept around the game. The graphics, besides simple, fit very nice. The music was very sweet, the only feedback about it would be a slider to control de volume. One thing that I couldn't understand is when the game comes to an end? (I supposed that the red elipse showed when it ends but the forth end came earlier). Also I could understand the second and forth end.
To wrap up things, congratulations for your entry and congratulations for making a science-based game that fits so nice the theme! :)
@ausstein Thanks. It's true that you couldn't tell the difference between our universe and one made of antimatter, unless you could somehow cross into the other one and try the local cuisine :D
SPOILER ALERT: Creating big amounts of matter and antimatter is a way to one of the endings, but it requires a bit more: a total balance. Looking back I can see this condition doesn't make much sense as annihilation is asymmetrical, but it makes achieving this ending more challenging.
@roque Thanks. Good point about the volume. The game ends when either the edge of the universe reaches the red outline or you reach one of the two early endings (one of which is the creation of the universe by creating enough of only matter). The expansion of the universe slows down significantly with time, so that might have confused you. I slowed the expansion even though that's not scientifically accurate because it's much easier to play when the universe is bigger.
@shess Thanks. In that case I won't give you any spoilers.
Quite hard to understand what can be done but it's really fun to experiment. Love it, and the music is super nice. Good and original game!
It was a difficult game for me. But I enjoyed shooting and the music.
Pretty inovative but very hard to dominate! I ended creating boring universes several times, but its kind of fun trying to mantain only materia and anti materia. Finding these kind of games on LD its always a lesson of game designing thinking. Good game!
@gamefive @welliton Thanks. Do you think it would be as much fun if it was easier? Getting the difficulty right is one of the hardest things to manage in these events.
Nice game, it's fun to just spam click and see whether it created something big, until eventually colliding with the rest.
You went really deep on "start with nothing" heheh Really fun game... works very well as a jam game. Good job!
Well, that was fascinating. Good job!
I love the background music and very interesting concept of a game. A little hard to get used to at first, but I caught on realizing I needed to preemptively shoot to get my dude where I wanted. Very cool!
Lot of "create the universe" games this time around. I suppose it's to be expected. Still, this was at least a different take on things.
Fun idea and really well done! Cool music, nice background and cute little characters :)
SCIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCE.
The game was hard to play and it felt sort of heavy to feel the balance of things. How does the collision of matter with a single small itsy bitsy antimatter collapse it (although it is scientifically accurate) It does not bode well for me.
It's hard to keep particles alive but the concept is really interesting and the game turns out to be pretty fun. Good work!
This was hilarious, even if just a tiny bit inaccurate  . See me smashing particles here: https://youtu.be/5YQTWGsYBJw
@rialgar Thanks for the review. I know it's not even remotely scientifically accurate, but it beats all the current theories in the fun department ;)
