LD44 — Your life is currency

Vampire Drift by Shess 2019-05-08T04:23:36Z

Tried to play three times before doing the review.

Nice art style, responsive controls and overwall a nice gameplay but for me some things in the game seems not working properly.

I couldn't understand when/why my life drains (actually it only happen when starting the race), all abilities didn't drain life and excluding the boost don't seem to have any effect mechanically, only visually, talking about the boost the camera begins to behave a little weird after using it, like upside down (I gues that a solution could be using a multiplicative percentual factor or just a limit to the distortion of the zoom out feature). Overall the issues seems relative to the small time window of the LD.

Congratulations for your submission and would be nice to play a patched version of the game :D

What is Life by Ratherjolly 2019-05-12T23:06:19Z

Feel sorry for you, must have been very frustating to see your entry killed by the deadline. My game was very simple and even so just in monday 22h30 GMT-3 we were able to post our game, even without gameplay testing and somethings here and there broken to fix. I would say to you finish your game and post it when done, the LD is about making games, receiving feedback and improving ourselves as game dev, we all know that is a challenge to make it all to work in 2-3 days.

And when done with your game leave a like in this comment and I'll go back here to give your game a play and a feedback :D

Reaper Resurrection by Veilastrum 2019-05-12T22:44:11Z

Couldn't make to work in my laptop because of graphics card not compatible. A huge feedback is that you try to build your next games from LD to WebGL. The screenshots seems very nice though and nice that you used Godot.

Deal With the Devil by Firepit games 2019-05-12T22:56:57Z

tl;dr: Very nice entry for the LD!

Enjoyed your cutscenes, for the narrative, the music and artstyle. The gameplay was very simple but well done. Nice that you put variety with your enemies and attacks BUT the only attack that seemed effective for me was the spinning scythe. Also, the hosting for download the game was very nice to see, is a small detail but really beatiful to see.

Shoot And Kill by Cactu5 2019-05-12T22:35:36Z

The upgrades didn't seem to do anything for me but still a pretty nice and solid game entry. Great work! One detail that you could try to change is how the gun rotate, in a way that it don't go upside down :D

The Ball's Path by EricRou 2019-05-12T23:19:19Z

I had a HUGE FPS drop in the start of the game and then some times the FPS dropped, becoming undesirable to keep playing. The idea though seemed nice and really enjoyed the humor within the narrative.

My biggest feedback would be about performance issues, besides that nice game!

Untitled by Josh6680 2019-10-08T04:55:22Z

Nice job making a game without a game engine. Enjoyed the mechanics of the game but I need to confess that I was worried that each key would be as hard as the red one to get haha

Click of Ages by Joel Davis 2019-10-10T04:51:55Z

The game creates a process but don't open :( The screenshot and idea seems so nice. If you need more information or if you make another patch about this issue please let me now!

Awaken by aaranos 2019-10-08T05:36:55Z

Nice entry. Very arcadish music and graphics. I couldn't understand how the powerups really works but still survived for 32s against the boss :)

Liberation by Light by Yaroslav Kravtsov 2019-10-10T03:31:31Z

Very nice concept and implementation, too bad that the game was a bit heavy to run for my low spec pc :/

StarLink Xpress by morrilet 2019-10-10T04:15:43Z

Innovative, well structed, well made music and sounds, menus works very smooth, everything very well put. Played one time to understand and another to see how far I could go. Really nice entry! :)

Rubber Duck Genesis by Rayne 2019-10-08T04:27:34Z

Really nice sound effects, simple graphics but also liked them. Awesome visual effects tho, a little Superhot'sh. Nice entry!

Solar System Clicker - Browser game by lanz611 2019-10-08T04:01:04Z

Really liked that you made the game with your kids (I'm looking foward to do this with my nephews too) and enjoyed the art of the game but as a game it lacks a bit in options and things to do. As others said, the only thing you can do is click and watch, there's no progression or change. Also the resolution of your build is a little strange in both Chrome and Mozilla.

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-10T05:37:21Z

What a awesome entry! The choice of using minimalist graphics and polish them so well was so well done here! The mechanics were nice, the controls were simple to understand and the game had a nice custom progression. Congratulations and keep making games! :)

Mission interrupted by EndSSGamesStudio 2019-10-10T04:39:05Z

Although the game didn't run so well in my PC (around 8fps) I could see how much effort you must have put in this entry, especially about the level design and atmosphere, the game felt a little half-life'ish and made me stayed for as long I could bear the small refresh rate. Congratulations for your work and for your entry! Keep making games!

The items, that change everything by Dock Frankenstein 2019-10-10T01:54:33Z

Nice game you have there! Besides the graphics been very simple the art style was very nice and fit very well the game, the only thing I think it lacked was a bit more width in the walking sideways animation, but still, for a 48 hours solo project it was very nice. Nice approach to the theme!

Baryon Asymmetry by Flying Dog Fish 2019-10-12T04:06:27Z

Loved so much the post you made about the game, explaining all the concept around the game. The graphics, besides simple, fit very nice. The music was very sweet, the only feedback about it would be a slider to control de volume. One thing that I couldn't understand is when the game comes to an end? (I supposed that the red elipse showed when it ends but the forth end came earlier). Also I could understand the second and forth end.

To wrap up things, congratulations for your entry and congratulations for making a science-based game that fits so nice the theme! :)

Little Odyssey (this title and text are referenced from Little Odyssey) by Foursay 2019-10-10T05:23:49Z

one of the best soundtracks in a LD game I've heard! Even with a minimal amount of text and interactions, the music and the overall atmosphere of the game contributed for making it very touching. Congratulations for your work!

Zero Equals Zero by TopperVideoGames 2019-10-08T05:16:44Z

Very nice idea for the theme, the best approach I saw until now. Some interactions were a bit confusing and the movement some times were not so responsive (especially near vertical surfaces) but overall the game was really nice to play :)

More Decor by mapleglaze 2019-10-08T04:40:46Z

Nice short puzzle, considering that it was made by only one person. I tried to download but couldn't get it to workd in my PC but after all the web version works fine and was very satisfying to unlock all the furniture :)

The Learning Drone v4.5 by kukiric 2019-10-08T04:59:28Z

@toppervideogames Thank you for the review! I think the backwards upgrade is a little too hard because of the difficult to see all the flashing doors when you hover de buttons. The only softlock we could see after realeasing the game is on the strafe upgrade without the second battery but I see your point.

The Learning Drone v4.5 by kukiric 2019-10-08T05:39:33Z

@aaranos I feel sorry for the softlocks (which I hope is only one), maybe in a small patch we deal with this small tweaks, just to make acessible the entire experience of the game. Thanks for the review tho ^^

The Learning Drone v4.5 by kukiric 2019-10-10T03:58:03Z

@endssgamesstudio hope you enjoyed the game and even running out of battery some times could make to the (real) end :) thank you for your review

@wheffle our take on the theme was about starting with only moving foaward, almost nothing but in the middle we do realized that it wasn't nothing about "start with nothing", that's the reason why we putted the progressive music, starting with no music at all and adding some to it as you progress through the game. About the switches, we wrote in the game page that when you hover your mouse in a button there's a bright effect on each doors that it activates (but surely we should've putted in the game as a pop-up). Thank you for the review and hope that you enjoyed the game enough to come back to it and find the way out of the laboratory! :)

The Learning Drone v4.5 by kukiric 2019-10-10T14:44:57Z

@redimension-games we are aware of the unintended softlock in that area and will fix it as soon as possible. We couldn't manage to produce so many sfx, maybe just a walking and turn sfx would make a huge difference. You probably talking about the door/button hell puzzle before the walk backwards upgrade hahah thank you for your review ^^

@xakkar thank you for your review, I hope you enjoyed the plot twist (if you fell for it) in the end of the game :)

@zakamana I'm happy that you gound ir relaxing, we do went for a metroidvanish game but keeping the game chill. Maybe the small levels would be more wise in term of mechanics but I personally liked the exploration amd revisitation feel of a large map. Thank you so much for your words ^^

Refuge by LadyPossum 2019-10-10T01:33:41Z

Beautiful work! Very nice graphics and sounds.

Minno by --0 2019-10-10T01:44:24Z

Very nice game! I enjoyed playing it all. The graphics are simple but fits very well with the mechanics and the music. As people have already said mouse controls to the inventory would be great but still a very fun and playable game. Congratulations for your work!

Letterout by tohubohu 2019-10-08T06:08:42Z

Solid entry to the jam! Nice graphics, nice idea (makes me think about the concept of a dungeon scrawbler type of game) and fun view of the theme. About the audio, even with the lack of more music the sound effects are really nice .

The Snake by SUDHARSAN 2019-10-08T04:16:08Z

Nice job! Besides the small bug reported in the previous review, the executable, game mechanics and menus works as intended. Very simple game but with every LD (and every personal project) we learn more about game dev. Keep making games

Glorbo's Kingdom by DrewGodden 2019-10-10T03:50:04Z

Although the simple graphics and mechanics the game was really juicy to play. The physics were a little stressful but I think that it's what grabbed me to play a couple of times. I only had some resolution issues running the game, the text seemed a little too big and out of place.

Glorbo's Kingdom by DrewGodden 2019-10-10T04:19:29Z

@drewgodden My screen resolution is 1366x768.[In light of the information of a post-LD development of the game I would suggest some kind of numerical or symbolical indication of your kingdom progression and how near you are of losing the game] eddited the comment because I just found out in your screenshot that it was already implementted in the game hahah sorry :)

Kebab Stand by DrGrognak 2019-10-08T05:44:12Z

What a nice game to see!! Nice idea, nice game and reaaly funny to see a game about kebab. Besides the simple graphics and the lack of kebab'ish soundtrack all other aspects of the game were very good. :)

Play & Quit by Aden 2019-10-08T05:54:07Z

Can you please give me a link to the Play & Quit OST? s2 hahahaha Nice use of minimalist graphics, the movement and camera are very smooth and make the game very pleasant to play. The only issue that I had was with the block respawning sideways and sometimes the block becaments to easy to fall
